Hoofing it on Myrtle Beach
มุมมอง 7421 วันที่ผ่านมา
@hackingtheroad had unexpected company during our morning walk on Myrtle Beach. Groups of strong and beautiful horses transported their riders along the sandy shore next to crashing waves on a sunny Saturday. We later learned we witnessed the 43rd Annual American Heart Association Beach Ride, which raised over $400,000 to support the organization's mission "to be a relentless force for a world ...

@hackingtheroad visited the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, located in the southern part of Yosemite National Park in California. While admiring these grand and towering beauties, movement in the bushes caught our attention. Coming in to the sunshine was a jaunty mule deer roaming wild and free. An unanticipated bonus to a special day!
Busking in Quebec City
มุมมอง 23หลายเดือนก่อน
@hackingtheroad was entertained by a duo of street buskers playing fiddles in Quebec City. One of the musicians tapped his feet rhythmically in Quebecois style a tradition called tapage de pieds. This style of foot percussion utilizes a special board to amplify the sound.
Yellowstone's Bubbling Landscape
มุมมอง 8หลายเดือนก่อน
@hackingtheroad was fascinated to watch the hydrothermal mud pots bubble and stream. Viewed from the boardwalk trail in Yellowstone National Park's Lower Geyser Basin, the rising gasses and boiling mud are evidence of the area's still active volcano.
Gondoliers of Venice

Maple Taffy on Ice
มุมมอง 25หลายเดือนก่อน
@hackingtheroad enjoyed a traditional Quebecois feast at L'Erabliere du Cap, a local family-owned business that centers on their grove of maple trees. Quebec City Popcorn
มุมมอง 872 หลายเดือนก่อน
@hackingtheroad watched the popcorn man finish making the caramel corn at Boutique Mary's Popcorn in Quebec City. Lots of stirring and shaking distributed the luscious coating onto the freshly popped kernels. The smell emanating from the open window was mouth-watering!
Porto Moniz Tidal Pool
มุมมอง 812 หลายเดือนก่อน
@hackingtheroad spent six glorious weeks in Madeira, Portugal, with a visit to the village of Porto Moniz on the north coast of the island. A favorite local attraction is the natural tidal pool fed by the Atlantic Ocean. Swimmers often anxiously wait at the edge of the pool for incoming waves to come crashing in.
Gators of St. Johns River
มุมมอง 7052 หลายเดือนก่อน
@hackingtheroad took the St. Johns River Nature Cruise on a visit to Blue Spring State Park in Florida. Alligators call the river home, but sightings aren't a guarantee. We were fortunate to spot a number of the huge creatures, both swimming and lounging on the river banks.
The Strangler Fig

Lekker😂
These guys are great together!
Oh have to look for this when we go in December!
Porto Moniz is in the far NW part of the island. How long will you be in Madeira?
@@hackingtheroad we are there overnight on a cruise
We have heard great things about Madiera. Hope you guys are well 👍
Madeira is a must-see, for sure! We spent six weeks in the small coastal village of Porto da Cruz (NE Madeira). We would go back in a heartbeat. W're back in the USA--actually in Florida right now. Life is good! 'Hope your cruising is still going very well.
@@hackingtheroad we are tendered at Santa Catalina Island just west of Las Angeles right now! 👍
@@CruiseLife22 Oh, that's wonderful. I lived in LA for almost 7 years--and never visited Catalina. 'Still on our list, though. Have a great time!!
I just could not go on this ride! Kristian did!!
I definitely could not either!! But it was fun to watch…
@@hackingtheroad I spent a lot of time at Universal sitting and watching!!😂😂
@@lowdowntravel 'Definitely a little too intense for us as well. But, it's really fun to watch. We were on our way to Jimmy Fallon's experience.
very fun thanks
Pretty cool that it’s made out of tp, but really strong!
Hey, how's things? Always fascinated with this place and I believe it was caused by volcanic activity millions of years ago?
All is well! Thanks for asking. We are currently on a road trip across the USA and Canada--11,000 miles. Devils Tower was created by magma penetrated the upper crust. Erosion of the surrounding area exposed the tower. 'Hope all is well with you!
Devils Tower is so unusual--and mystical. It was amazing to see it in person. The geology is so perfect. Close Encounters of the Third Kind certainly picked the perfect icon.
We have taken a couple of tumbles running in the dark with uneven surfaces! Keep going! 🖐👍
There’s no doubt, night running can be an adventure! Thanks for the encouragement!!
Well done Ray, you look great at the finish!
Thanks!
The best❤
Thanks! One of the very best places to get Roosterkoek, for sure!
Lol - I will follow but I am certainly no longer a long distance runner! 😄
I am in my 10th week of a 24-week training program for a 100-miler at the end of the year (Phoenix, Arizona). Things are going well.
Great video!
Thank You! We had a lot of fun creating that video. Thanks for subscribing! We are also following you.
@@hackingtheroad glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for subscribing 😊
I ran the London Marathon twice and like to get out for a run a couple of times a week (when fit). Hats off to you for doing a 100 miler! I will follow this as it is definately of interest to me! Lisa may well also take a look at this. (Pete!)
Thanks, Pete! 'Good to know that you're out there. The 100-miler is growing in popularity every year now. A lot of the marathoners are looking for new challenges. The key is to have a solid training program and to pace yourself appropriately. Most marathoners are capable of finishing the 100-miler.
I'm afraid my marathon days are gone. I really do appreciate the training regime and dedictaion that is required. 100 Miles is another level altogether and I take my hat off to you sir! I'm more than happy just getting out a couple of times a week to keep all the parts ticking over!
@@CruiseLife22 'Absolutely! You have to listen to your body. I actually take a 5-7 month break from running each year. In that way, my body gets a chance to rebuild and recover. That works for me.
Hello 👋 We are new to your channel. Found you on Insta. Thank you for the great advice! 👍 🏃 kind regards Lisa and Pete
Lisa and Pete, thanks for subscribing. We also follow you on Instagram. Your pieces on Virgin Voyages were outstanding! 'Hope you enjoy our travel content. 'Sorry about the recent videos on training for the 100-miler. We'll be back to travel in about 5 weeks. Safe travels! All the best!
@@hackingtheroad my husband is a regular runner 🏃♂️ so he loves this content 👍🏃👌
@@CruiseLife22 That's wonderful! This series focuses on my lessons learned after finishing two 100-milers. I'm preparing for my next one at the end of this year. What distances does Pete run?
I tend to run about 5 miles a couple of times a week. The body and legs do not like pushing it much further than that. Occassionally, if my buddy is training then I will train with him and can go to 10 miles max!
@@CruiseLife22 I know the feeling. Right now, I am just maintaining some base-level fitness--running 6 miles 3 or 4 times each week. My training for the 100-miler will start in earnest in July. I am always amazed at how quickly my body adapts to the longer distances in training. The run/walk strategies needed to complete a 100-miler make all the difference.
👍👍
Thank You for your support!
Only you can do this Dr. Raymond :) Such an inspiration! We are with you in this journey!
Thank you so much for the support! Stay tuned for all the upcoming episodes as I continue preparations.
Won't be able to run, but will be with you all the way ❤❤
Thank you, Jacks! It’s a long journey, as you know. ‘Looking forward to the journey with everyone.
Goodluck Raymond enjoy the training for the 160 km you did it before you can do it again from your support group in SA
Thanks, John!! ‘Very kind. The journey continues … 64 and not out!!
Lovely compilation!
Thanks! Ormond Beach (Florida) is such a special place. It's easy to compile a highlights reel.
Love the trail footage, I would definitely get lost though
1 LİKE 💯 hello very nice video 💯🙋🏻♀️☕👍✅🇹🇷🎆 5:11
Thank you!! Parks and Rec and local hiking enthusiasts do an amazing job with these trails.
The covid outbreak was 2 years ago...
so cool
Thanks! We loved the experience in Las Vegas. Earlier that day, we also attended a New Year parade in China Town.
Great music
The same buskers have been playing that gig for over 20 years! They seem to enjoy every moment. In an interview, they estimated that they make $20 - $40 each day busking.
Amazing footage! That looks like a sizable (do you know what kind?) fish the bird caught! The fish was struggling, but the hungry Heron managed to fully consume (alive?!) it all okay? It looked like the unlucky thing was still desperately kicking going down too! I wonder, does the large fish stand any chance of escaping if eaten in that condition? Maybe it can turn around inside the elastic throat/stomach and has a chance of survival here.
Thank you for the lovely compliment! We saw that same Blue Heron at the same place, and same time, every morning for about 3 months. Interestingly, whenever the Heron caught a fish, he would always head back onto the beach. We suspect this was his strategy to make sure the fish couldn't fall back in the water.
Breathtaking!
Agreed! Thanks for the comment! That storm was about 8 miles away--and mostly over the ocean. We were amazed at how long the storm lasted (a good hour).
focus on fish bit more
Thanks for watching. We have a lot of still photos of the fish varieties, but this video simply attempts to provide a quick view of the market.
So cute 🥰
Thanks! This was part of the Disney World 50th Anniversary.
Love that!
Thanks! It was fun to connect with the Tink side of life!
Such a beautiful natural video , love it and the dramatic effects creates a show 😊
Thanks! Nature put on such an awesome show! We just couldn't stop watching. The rhythm of the lightning and thunder synced so nicely to dramatic music.
😋 'Promo sm'
Thanks for the description :)
Tarpon Springs is a great spot to visit if you love exploring the diversity of American culture. They have a very interesting history--and great Greek food!
Make a food compilation video from all places you visited.
Thanks for the suggestion. We are working through a long list of video compilations. That's definitely on our to-do list. Check out our website (hackingtheroad.com), Pinterest (www.pinterest.com/HackingtheRoad/), and instagram (instagram.com/hackingtheroad/). Follow us and spread the word. We have a huge amount of content online already. BTW, we subscribed to your Instagram--love what you're doing!
Yummy food. Whose voice is this?
Thanks for the compliment. The voice is part of the Talkia AI software. The Bolo de Coco is delish. 'Best to eat it straight out of the oven with butter!
Very nice 👍
This Blue Crane would be in almost the same spot at the same time every morning. We started calling him Old Faithful.
Incredible!
The Everglades National Park is so unique! The airboat rides are so exciting as you cruise around the glades.
Visited Buc-ee’s this month for the first time! Interesting that turns out it’s the largest gas station in the US (if not in the whole world!)🤩
What a great experience to see the Brisket prep! They put on quite a show as they begin service.
Not familiar with the video technique? It isn`t loud enough.
Thanks for the feedback. This was shot in the field on an open-vehicle game drive.
🤣
Wow!
Yes! This hotel is actually the refurbished historic train station in Scranton, PA. The decor is amazing!
Beautiful!
It's not often one gets to see a live Serval. Cheetah Rehab had several Serval.
Nice video i hope you enjoyed marjan
Thanks! We loved those spectacular views. The pathway leading to the top is very well maintained. Split is a special place!
Coastal village Gordon's Bay South Africa -

Amazing history, views and ancient buildings
Dubrovnik Old Town is a must-see bucket list! We loved everything about the city and its unique history and Game of Thrones sites. Thanks for the nice comments!
We were at one in Concord, New Hampshire in 2002
Covered bridges are such an iconic part of New England. We love walking them and knowing about their history.
We do love a god ice cream
Ben & Jerry's is the place to go if you love ice cream! We do!
That looks exciting!!!😮
The powerboats dominate the lake at Broadway State the Beach. It's fun just watching them race around while enjoying an ice cream or coffee.
Wow that's a beautiful bay
The view above Skradin is really special! Most tourists don't take the hike up the hill, because the trail is not very well marked.
Beautiful marina life
Murrells Inlet is a special place--and it's only 5 miles from Myrtle Beach. We love just walking the boardwalk along the marina early on a Sunday morning. The estuary is filled with all kinds of wildlife. 'Great restaurants as well!
Nothing beats this ladies "roosterkoek" with bacon, egg and cheese!!
We were fortunate to see her in full-view action. Recently, it seems they have closed off that area somewhat. She's amazing!
The scenery is amazing and the old structures are incredible
The climb from the Kotor Fortress down below is quite intense, but the views were spectacular! It was definitely worth the effort.
