Screamo emerged in the early mid 90's both in the states and in parts of europe, some early screamo bands were Anomie, Saetia, Portraits Of Past, and Orchid. Screamo proved to be a faster more abrasive counter part to it's parent genre emotive hardcore (emo).

They dont have a new deathcore sound you idiot. There new album is almost technical death metal. There are no breakdowns, pig squeals. Just fast riffage and brutal screams. Just watch they will soon be one of the best death metal bands in the seen.

I've seen people calling Slipknot and Linkin Park screamo...lol those are Nu Metal bands!!! Someone called In Flames screamo!! Thats a huge insult to one of the best Swedish Melodic Death Metal bands!!!! I've seen multiple people calling All That Remains and As I Lay Dying screamo, not even close they are 2 of the best Melodic Metalcore bands!!! ummmm.. actually screamo is an official genre of music! Unfortunetly none of these bands are screamo, they are all metalcore, death metal and american metal!
