This is a Tonight Show from 1964 that is broadcasting from New York. The video and audio are poor and there are no commercials, but I think it's still fun to watch. The audio gets better after the first 2 minutes. Guest: Hedda Hopper, Jack Douglas and wife Reiko, Sam Levenson

Unedited version. There will be some long pauses with the band playing where the local commercial go. You don't get that on TV. This show is now on rumble.
Sad that the CRIMINAL TOBACCO PUSHERS were EVER allowed to advertise their ILLEGAL TOBACCO DRUG ANYWHERE! BAN THE ILLEGAL TOBACCO DRUG, NOW! (Yes. it's still ILLEGAL to POISON PEOPLE, no matter how slowly you do it!)
Smoked like a chimney 😮😅
Sammy Davis Jr, Diane Keaton, Freddie Prinze, and Erma Bombeck
Red Skelton, Donna Theodore, and Sterling Hayden
Would love to lock up todays late night talk show hosts and force them to watch what they should be doing!

Johnnys blazer is AMAZING...NOT 🤣
43:20 - is the Cybil Shepherd?
I wish I could see the one when he invited Nana Mouskouri, she sang « Prelude ».
Watched with my parents 😆💕
8:17 an early IBM PC commercial with "Charlie Chaplin" character. Really representative for what was hot in 83. With all that software available for the IBM it was no wonder why it was crushing the competition but the BIOS had been cloned and soon all that software would run on any DOS PC and it was a slow downhill glide for IBM's PC after that. But boy did they crush it there for a few years!
please do Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson December 31, 1964 Please?
9:20 You can hear a portion of the Q&A that Johnny did off-air with the audience after his monologue. A guy gives him a pin from Arkansas (which Johnny then mentions on the air), and a woman asks Johnny if he’ll marry her.
What was the name of the Britcom Stritch did? She played an American authoress who had a snooty English butler.
So wonderful to see this. Even with the vintage commercials included. The years of such great talent and entertainment.
The Tonight was the best!!!!! I miss Johnny, the show and all of the guests that were on the show. ☮️💟

I enjoyed the commercials
Thank you for uploading this in the correct / original way. When it’s not like this it just isn’t close to as good.
I've never felt so awful. I didn't know Ed Shaughnessy was so repulsive. Johnny is disgusting too.
One of the few is not the only one I’ve ever seen in black-and-white from New York, thank you.. full episode well done.
awesome!
Sam Levenson was a well-known comedian back in the 50s and 60s.
Wow it's a ti.e machine
Pretty much ruined the sale of that book
Diane Keaton IS Annie Hall. That's why she won the academy award for the role, she was just herself.
Elaine Stitch, jeeeez, what a mess!😕 She looks acts and sounds like an old drunk. I guess nobody had the balls to say, Elaine you're a trainwreck! I mean, God Bless her, but she's bombed! LOL 😅 Ahhh well RIP Elaine
Television...GOLD! That's what you have struck here.
SEVENTY THREE?? I thought his tapes were WIPED!!! Someone must have gotten one out if not...NBC exec spinning in grave lol.
Carson saved every episode.
Yeah, it’s another thing. I always loved when Johnny would allow doc and the band to just play and it would be so awesome to hear what a great band they were.❤️🇺🇸👍
Thanks for the upload. Yes, I did. Enjoy this. Always love the back-and-forth between Tommy Newsom and Johnny just so hilarious. Oh my God.😂🇺🇸
It's great seeing a show from the Skitch era of the Tonight Show with Johnny.

I mean, it was awesome....you could sit there on your couch or in your bed, in your underwear, I was 12 when this aired, and watch STARS sit there, that you had just watched in a movie, or on TV, or just hit a homerun and they are shooting the sh*t....so to speak....amazing...
Wow, don't usually get to hear more than snippets of the band Thanks, that was delightful!
What did Red say about the DeLorean that was overdubbed?
i was 3 weeks old this date lol
I don’t know why, but I teared up during the ceremony. I think I need to see my psychiatrist
In the future, some people may wonder why Johnny glanced down at her legs and then said it was perfectly natural and those people may wonder what he was referring to and be perplexed by the comment. What it is, is, before this time, ladies were encouraged to always sit with their legs crossed, because it was viewed as un-ladylike to have your crotch exposed like that. The feeling at the time was that exposing yourself like that made you seem willing to allow anyone to just look at your private areas and that you had no standards of decency and it reflected upon your character as a person of loose morals. Now a days, because so few females wear the type of garb that might allow a glance up in that area, it’s less of a constraint and has no real meaning anymore. Is this a good sign or not? I am not sure.
Stritch seemed drunk. Also, hard to believe she was only 50.
I was just a few months old when this particular one was made... I was born on September 20th 1969.
Johnny held back his temper successfully in this.. I can tell he wasn't happy with what he wrote.. but he set him straight! Go Johnny!!
Lord I was 15 when this was on......love the commercials.....so much better than designer drugs that cost 400 a pill....
I love watching these episodes. Johnny Carson was the greatest TV host. Thank you for posting these episodes. If anyone has the shows from the 1960s, I would love to watch them. Thank you. (sam)
Diana Ross is really talented!
Me twin were all dad Johnny carson
Carson and Ed Sullivan. That was pure gold. Mr. Sullivan was a giant in the history of 20th century entertainment.
this was so special to me because my parents' wedding song from 1975 was the beautiful song, the theme from mahogany, from miss diana ross, legendary singer
“There once was a lady named Hall…” HIYOOOOO!
