Wish you covered Celtics-Pistons instead. 87/88 ECF were even more intense than the 89/90 ECF because the teams were so balanced and even. 90 is the only series that felt similar between these two teams. 88/89 is mostly lopsided to Detroit (Jordan rules worked) and then 91 is lopsided to Chicago. It's pretty comparable to LeBron vs Spurs or Warriors where the rivalry isn't the teams, it's just one great team up against an all-time GOAT level player with a cast that mostly doesn't show up.

Since kobe is a guard his man will never leave him to guard Shaq especially when kobe plays on the perimeter and not inside...secondly kobe was also getting doubled team cause he was a scoring threat , it was Horry, fisher, and fox who benefited from the double teams.... In those 4 finals he was more likely to shoot under 40% than over 42%😂and Shaq shot over 57% in all 4 of the finals together. In the 2004 finals Kobe shot them out that series. Glad to know that fellas like Isiah Thomas or Bill Laimbeer have winning career records against Michael Jordan and kept him ringless in basketball's greatest decade. Besides that... the Pistons were a better TEAM than Jordan's Bulls. You don't win agaisnt Jordan's Bulls, Bird's Celtics and Magic's Lakers without being a hell of a team. All these "documentaries" show time and time again, Mahorn bumping Bird or Laimbeer slashing McHale... and with a couple pf brush strokes young guys believe that butchery legend. But you have to watch complete games to understand how it was. And most important... to pick a Delorean and watch them in that era when the outcome wasn't known. You would realize that the Pistons were a great BASKETBALL team hard to beat. Not a bunch of thugs. Every team was physical and every team had their share of dirty play, but only the Pistons made a mental strength out of it. But without basketball excelence on top of Jordan, Bird and Magic... there were Isiah Thomas and his teammates.

Nope. The toughest opponents would be the Celtics who swept Jordan's Bulls twice and even once went on a 13-0 run in matches where Birds Celtics faced Jordans Bulls. Jordan only won titles once magic, kareem and bird reached their retirement seasons.

Magic was coming off back to back mvp seasons , bird had a hall of fame stacked team , mj did not , what’s your excuse for his two three peats ? Were those teams old too ? HIV did not effect magic in 91 , so that’s excuses from you young fanboys . What’s Lebrons excuses for losing over and over in Cleveland , and realizing he’s been 7 years into his career , and hasn’t won nothing ? He jumped ship to Miami , and brought Bosh in with him , and ray Allen . What’s his excuse for 2011 ? And 2014 ?

Whoah Kauffamn1016 that's a lot of questions. 🤣🤣 Right here you go. Yep basketball is a team game. The Celtic team swept Bulls each year until Bird became a creaking wreck from injuries and age. But it wasn't just the Celtics fault cos MJ had yet to learn that you can't win if one guy takes all the shots. Even if you score 63. MJ helped Bulls win threepeats in a NBA that had become much less competitive after that generation of HoF players like Moses Dr j Bernard McHale Kareem Price Sampson Nique Magic Isaiah Bird etc all got too old to compete. I agree that Bulls were eventually better than the Lakers in 91. MJ had learned to pass by then and Lakers were geriatric. Hope this helps.

@@denbrown3676 any player gets better as the years go by , experience, learning to play as a team , chemistry , and camaraderie . Fact is , Jordan didn’t stand a chance against that Celtics team , and his team kept getting Beat by the pistons , but he didn’t give up , he figured it out. Mj kept a lot of teams from winning anything in the 90s , but some “fans” claim it wasn’t as competitive , but it had a lot of great talent , in fact , their are more top 75 players that played in the 90s than the 80s , but you believe what klutch says I guess , gotta think for yourself , and do a little research . Jordan did more with a team he had than what bird , Moses , Dr j , magic , shaq , Kobe , lebron , and zeke did , just to name a few. He just so happened to be a rookie in 84’ when magic and bird were terrorizing the league , broke his foot the next season , so you could look at it a little more objectively , and say mj might have not of won his first 5 or 6 years starting out in the league against bird and Magic’s team , and zekes , but he damn sure figured it out , and kept other teams from winning anything , and hof players from even winning a single chip . Mj still had a better career than basically everyone else in basketball .
