If you were coming back and had 1 month to explore across portugal. For a couple and a 7-year old with a car, what itinerary would do? We've never been but are interested in a getting a feel for the entire country without wearing down our 7-year old. I get that in Lisbon a car is not necessary a plus but what if we want to explore the entire coast? Thanks guys

What month were you here?

We always take a 5-10 minute video of the car w/ audio + photos of specific damaged areas we've spotted before we drive the car--this helps when you bring it back & the rental company rep tries to bilk $$ from you--this happened to us in Tallin, Estonia when the rep said we nicked a small dime sized area & they held our €900 deposit--luckily American Express refunded the money because the rental company couldn't priduce any photos before the supposed tiny damage! We book the car thru Amex & they instruct you to decline Collision Damage Waiver, plus they have a certificate letter for each country you rent from to show the rental agent🤠We always drive overseas w/ an IDL (intl drivers license) but have never once been asked to show it to anyone🤨

We’ll be in Porto for a couple days before going to Lisbon. We wanted to rent a car to drive to the Douro Valley one day and drive down to Lisbon the next day. What would you recommend we do? This is all very new to us and I know parking can be a hassle that we’re trying to avoid.

How old is the youngest one ? Just wanting to know because ill go with my child to Madeira in September 😊

Hi, go visit Madeira Iland too, belongs to Portugal 🇵🇹 and is close to North Africa and Portugal/ Europe. The weather is not hot and not cold, spring all year , but you can have it all in the Iland from mountains 🏔 beautiful coast and beaches, the air is pure , lot of adventure. It is modern the city 🌆 of Funchal but has also the historic places and both combine well. Also safety, affordable and so beautiful, you have the small ilands close to Madeira too, like desserts ilands and Porto Santo with sand beaches. It’s well known by the European cointries by the good weather and the beauty of the cities and country side, and the laurisilva forest 🌳 that is magical and so beautiful. Houses is affordable, everything is fresh from fruta and veggies. Go take a visit or live there you gone loved and the fact that is close to Portugal and Europe. Welcome to Portugal 🇵🇹

Glad you enjoying the food. No doubt Portugal has one of the best gastronomies in the world. If you like fish or seafood, in Portugal you will find the best, same goes for the bread, cheese, extremelly good wine at very reasonable prices. Fresh and tasty vegetables and fruit. It may sound silly but when i lived in the UK the first few weeks i kept telling my girlfriend that the parsley in the supermarkets did not have any smell and in Portugal we could smell it a few metres away, same for the tangerines, and other fruit. Enjoy Portugal.
