Well I got banned by the devs for replying to someone about what happened to the replay system. Completely random and stupid reason. The developer has lost the plot. Acts like a child and throws his toys out the pram way too often.

The fact that developer has zero respect for anyone who tries to help him and bans many people including me. The people I’ve played with over years have left because of the developer and his decisions. The game has lost its soul, because of it. Maybe in the future, it might rise again. But a lot of damage is done. We shall see.

The main issues here are the mental state of wouw. The guy has issues. In the sense that, the more people try to help him, the worst he makes the game and forces those who helped him, to quit from the game or he bans them. Everything that was meant to be a joke in this video, which I made years ago, has constantly come true. The guy refuses to talk with me, someone who has spent the most amount of time, from gaming or living life to produce these videos, cast 5 - 6 hours live casts of tournaments games, to help his game, and he refuses to say a single word. All because that idiot solomon bad mouthed everyone years ago and wouw basically crawled under a rock. He bans me for replying to someone who asked if Markos site will get updates again, and I just replied, probably not, as wouw changed the replay code system. So nothing I can do now, other than delete my videos, and give up war selection. This is what wouw wants.

First player experience in WS is atrocious. Poor QOL and bad design choices, such as the whole building/unit upgrade system and HQ sniping, makes the game tedious/frustrating for nothing. Late game is a spam fest with way too much ressources. For competitive play, AOE blows away WS it's not even a competition. But is WS more enjoyable than aoe2? No. All the little QOL issue the game has, it's bad pathfinding and questionable upgrade mechanic overshadow the cool battles you can get. Worst offender is loosing a game, your whole army and immense base, because a Bertha canon or a fast unit blob just rushed your HQ. It is not fun. Sadly there isn't many rts having you go through the ages like this. The best alternative would be empire earth 1&2 and rise of nation... Which are all very old.

@@jacksheldon8566 I disagree about your points. True that there are many QoL issues, but the unit building/upgrade system is alright (though in could be resolved better in terms of UI). Sniping is also part of the game, which punishes some behaviors and makes players think twice if they want to be more aggressive at cost of risking being sniped, or more defensive, at the risk of loosing map control and being overrun. It is not perfect, as some units may seem to be OP at sniping, but in most cases it is still a good game mechanic, which shouldn't be taken out.

The game had so much hope. With a decent player base. The average players have nearly halved and still declining. With every new update, the game gets worse and more people get banned when they speak out. Wouw the developer has issues with members of the community helping him. Whether its balance changes, youtube, tournaments etc. He goes out of his way, to make the game worse, and either bans people or leaves people with no choice but to quit the game and move on. I am probably in the top 3 of people who have contributed the most to this game. With a dedicated youtube channel for war selection only. Unfortunately, Wouw the main developer of War Selection has banned me from the server for no reason. With much regret, I have removed all the videos, as I do not want all the effort I put into videos dedicated to war selection only, to help wouw in his game any further. With over 250 videos and many many cash prize tournaments all live streamed, including war selection discord tournaments, I hope I have entertained as many people as I could. This video I have left, is a video I made years ago, which has only got more true and far far worse. Good luck to all 👍 other than wouw.

That’s very generous of you. There hasn’t been anything worthwhile to cast. With Markos website not auto generating replays, we are back to the stone age of sharing replay codes. Hopefully the new team match up will produce some good games.

It was live, so there were comments throughout the video. They are working on AI. How long it will take is unknown.
