Of all the Punch 500w amps you have tested, this one is the most powerful yet (200w+ continuos in stereo)! Even the 500a2 amp doesn't make 200w continuos in stereo. Very strong amp! Wish I had bought this one, instead of the 501s amp (only 173.5w in stereo). Nice video, thanks!😊

Glad to see this because it brings back memories, I had 4 punch 15s in a ported box that took half the bed up in my Mazda b2000 truck with a snug top, I took out the back window and put in a boot so it was pass through. I had each 15 running off of a power 500.2 bridged and I had a Audiotech preamp line driver on the rca's coming from my alpine pull out deck for my highs I had Boston acoustics 3 ways with passive xovers and I was running them off of a ads PQ15. They called me the bump at high school because you could hear me coming from 4 blocks away. I always wondered what actual power I was running it was such clean solid and deep bass it was amazing.

I would like for you to measure the rail voltages on the main caps unloaded. Seems like they put more turns on the secondaries..its time to discover the difference between the ix.x2...punch 225.2. And punch 500.2..after you uncover the voltage increase from year model to year model..the final understanding is how does that decrease the low imp ability to follow ohms law. Or did they actually achieve stability..as they evolved.. Im excited to find out..

Yes, underrated by 20% or so and makes ridiculous dynamic power below 4 ohms mono. These were my shop's bread and butter back in the mid to late nineties. The 2300 was the big 2 channel.

The amp output filter is designed for a certain load..the amp is rated at higher imp but it doesnt like it..

Recently bought one of these amps just to add to my classic amp collection. It's a HXA1000QX. They are absolutely gorgeous amplifiers. Great content!

i am looking at putting 4 vintage 60 watt blaupunkt speakers in my 1982 g wagon. I don't really want to cut door cards so i'm looking at putting 2 x 5 inch speakers in the back pillars and 2 x 5 inch speakers in the front footwells. Because the truck interior is so big i need 4 speakers spread around. Each speaker is rated at 60 watt max power or 40 rms. Could i run 4 speakers on 2 channels using this amp? I found this amp for a good price and i think it'd be perfect for my 80's whip. I also love 80's rap so i love the idea of having an old school amp and speakers. This unit also gives me big 90's california nostalgia. I'm new to car stereos and trying to learn as much as a can!

Hello, nice video! I have a Blaupunkt THA2125 amp rated at 125w per ch, or 400w x 1 ch. It has a 60 amp fuse, and inside it has bigger caps (2 x 4200mf at 50v)! Do you think it may have the power it claims? Thanks.😊

These new Hi fonics anps are garbage the company lost their way around 1998 maybe a little before, its actually quite a sad story where the original founder got screwed over by maxxsonics my memory fails me i used to do sound installs in car audio with a subwoofer bias. Most of the companies we used to hold in high regard are crap now owned by entitites who dont care about quality

Wow, this amp came way short of it's power rating from the birth certificate! After 2006, these amps are made in china, and not as good as when they were made in the US! Nice video though, thanks.😂

Ahhh the mtx road thunder series from back in the day when they were still kings mtx 2300 was basically the bees knees as far as power and sound quality, yes to my ears the mtx sounded smoother and the rockfords have always sounded edgy and harsh

Ich habe die Heißluftfritteuse Philips HD9650/90 und meine geht nach zirka 1 wieder aus nach dem man Sie angemacht hat. Genauso Er sieht man Temperatur und Zeit und beim Starten nur Linien!Was könnte das sein?lg

Just did this. Turned out to be a nightmare job. 2 impeller bolts snapped off in the gearbox housing. I’m astounded at how badly the water galleries clog up. The aluminum in this Yamaha is average quality compared to my 2004 evinrude even! Is now pumping but just spluttering water out. (As it did previously) I’ve not found one single video where it’s a steady stream of water. I’m not convinced it shouldn’t be a better stream of water. Does this have a thermostat (I can’t find anyone changing it online). If the water pump galleries (under the stainless plate) were 90% clogged with corrosion. The rest of the engine must be a mess!!! The motor is in new condition. Mine has about 10 hours on it (black up only) and it’s always been run for 15 minutes in a bucket of water after every outing. Also. Hot tip. ZIP tie the gearbox selector grub screw on its shaft to prevent it going up as you slide it all into place. Else re-installing the gearbox is nightmare!!!

Jeder der 16 Thundercast 15" wurde von einer 2300er befeuert.. das war echt brutal😎 Trotz der kurzzeitigen Gleichgewichtsstörung war es ein meeeegaaa Erlebnis🤣🤪🥳 Die Endstufenserie war damals aber auch wirklich n Knaller.... Der Van sowieso🤓.... Mal schauen, wann du die 2300er testen kannst...Drücke alle Daumen... Rockford Fosgate und MTX Audio sind bis heute meine Favouriten😎👍🆙️

Originally this amp has 11,400mF (Nichicon LK & PM) on the rail, and at the power supply input it has 4,400uF (no brand described capacitors), this made me think about how well it plays with so little... so In my amp I modified it to the maximum that the amp box accepts, I put 23,000mF (Cornell Dubelier, Nichicon VZ) on the rail, and at the power supply input I put 11,200uF (Nichicon PW). It was not a cheap service, but the sound of the amplifier was justified, the backlight plate had to be removed, but the amplifier remains aesthetically original.

I have one of these amps and I made a high-level modification to it and the sound was incredible 🤩 originally this amp has mid-level capacitors in the power supply and preamp, and the NE5532 operational ones are good but nowadays we have much better things, I used the LME49720, Rubicon Black Gate, Elna, Panasonic FM, Wima MKP and Sprague capacitors; in the power supply I used Cornell Dubelier, Nichicon and Wima MKP. after everything was done I compared it with amps that cost much more, like Mcintosh and my Infinity amp has not been beaten yet.
