Great interview. So happy Fitzy is the devils gm. Fans were calling for his job last year which was insane, he made some great moves this off season and they are all paying off right now
31:13 speak on it fitzy!
Listening to Fitzgerald talk about Jake Allen, that's what makes me wonder if the Canadiens didn't err in trading away some veteran players. Certain guys are just glue guys and when they move, there's no one to replace their voice and professionalism. Maybe that's a reason why the Canadiens haven't shown signs of progress.
Fitz is such an introspective GM. Great questions guys!
That's New Jersey Devils Stanley Cup Champion Bill Guerin coming up.
Fitz-magic!!!
Always love how transparent Fitzy is with the media. Always gives fans the rare behind the scene view.
Thanks for the analysis! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
I did t know Pierre was on selection committee for hhof, congrats on another three years, good job with J.R.. Mogilny should be in!!!
Player’s don’t respect Pastrnak and McAvoy as captains.
Ken is great!!
Between watching Teemu Selanne and Pavel Bure when I was posted to old 2 PPCLI in Wpg, 92-93 was one amazing sns.
Nucks: "A ton of those guys left" - 100%, and Mtl fans should see this and remember what happens, because next season when all the potential UFA guuys move on, these NHL players will be replaced with younger players from Laval, and that's a recipe for disaster, just like this sns with our young defense. Silovs: Oh man, I was all in on this kid. Probably a better goalie on a stable team, not suited for fantasy this sns, but I'm in a Keeper's Lg, so it doesn't worry me, as I can protect him for a number of years on my farm team. Pettersson: Hmmmm, 25 years old, a Big Center with proven talent.......hmmmmmmm, yummi........hmmmm, 11 million bucks is a Hughes risk (huge)? 😀😀 I have a theory......when someone doesn't get along with someone else (Miller), maybe Pettersson is thinking, puck this place, get me out of here. IE. Laine, PLD situations in Wpg.
Change the core
Maybe the coach lost the room, maybe they are just getting old,........???
good show boys !!
Is there a reason why you never mention the Panthers? Why are they always getting overlooked? They are the latest Cup Champs and are still playing like champions. And yet all you talk about is the loser Oilers and Rangers who looked like children against Florida.
Teams that are struggling are what draws discussion. Think about the news, they don't talk about how great x thing is, usually it's something bad that is being talked about.
@maxrates he praises literally every team but Florida. Especially the Rangers.
that fucking intro song is just utter ear bursting cancer.
Thr Rangers glaze is getting out of control. They still can't win against Florida. I know you hate it, but its still true.
Wow. You Two for some reason have the need to put down your colleagues in the media in the name of calling it like it is. McGuire is the most dishonorable person in the media. That's why he keeps saying how honest and honorable he is. Such insecure behavior
Very animated conversation. Good topics and thanks for sharing the personal stories. Fans like to hear the behind the scenes stuff. Cheers
Pretty sure there is 31 other teams that would take Arber in a heart beat, perhaps the Habs should play him or trade him. He's not progressing sitting out games, and I'm sure you'll ruin his confidence. imo.
kirbe is to solf get rid of him
Heads will roll by Christmas break.
Hey guys, I used to work for the CBC as a reporter, but also more technical roles. So here's the deal: the sound quality is goddamn awful. Especially Pierre's. I was able to buy a lovely Marantz brand mic for my computer for less than $100, and it sounds as good as any sound booth I've ever used in the studio. So pretty please, fix this. Unless you feel that your audience doesn't deserve a quality product...
I looked it up. It was the MPM-4000U that I purchased. Seems like they have better models for less money nowadays. Let's do it!

Just like the Rangers in the Gorton era
I'm a rangers fan and I was upset when he was fired but after what drury has done, I see how gorton didnt factor in size or other things. He had so many picks and trades that were horrible. 3 top picks couldn't even cut it in the NHL's or even ahl. I'd say chytil is the only great draft he had, obviously kakko and laf are exempt because he won the lottery for those picks. He just doesnt realize size means alot not every player needs to be big but you need more than just fast and skill because otherwise you will lose puck battles and not be able to pro tr ect your top players as seen from the game against the rangers. They also didnt finish to the whistle multiple times. But get ready for more time wasted on small players and disappointments as gorton did with the rangers.
@@JohnCloutierImmobilier Gordon is a joke. Hired a rookie GM and then a rookie coach...
I like these ending perspectives today. Thanks.
Correct me,but this is only the 3rd year of the rebuild right? No worries yet, patience, plus as usual with Habs injuries, yes we will get bigger, who built the NYR,right.
3rd year with ZERO progress, that is VERY worrisome
Most of gorton and his work with the rangers isnt on the current team outside of chytil and panarin was because John Davidson wne panarin wanted the big city. So almost every pick of gorton is no longer in the system and they went to other teams and failed there as well. The rangers are good because of chris drury.
@paulcake7353 In February it's 3 full years. 4th year starts in February. MSL needs to go.
Hope so. They suck just like Quebec
Too slow, too soft, very little talent, bad contracts and shakey goaltending, Coaching is problem 99 out 100
Hey Jimmy, know what? Toooooooooooo Small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small. Ya. Otherwise, no prob
What the problem? Too small, small, small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small small.
@@mikemailloux3771 it’s not a height issue, it’s the way they play. They’re not a physical team stylistically nor do they have the personnel for it outside of 2 or 3 guys.
We are like the 5th or 6th biggest team, we're not small, just soft
I still don’t care about results. But I want them to compete, I want them to grow, I want them to take a step or two.
They're taking steps, just backwards
@@adamCarter20 that’s for sure. There’s no excuse for the way they’re playing. This team was not ready to start the season and that’s on the coaching staff. Nothing wrong with a young team losing but they have no idea what they’re supposed to be doing out there. 15 of 19 players don’t have a bad game, game after game.
What a joke.
Fourth season into the rebuild. MSL needs to go..
So they should just fire a new coach every three years? It's the players not the coach.
@@McInnisPicks LOL, Its obviously the coach with no proir experience. He puts players on their off wing because that's what he did when he played. He can't create any kind of team identity. 9 first round pick forwards. It's not the players....MSL is not an NHL coach.
@@jjevans1693 It can't always be the coach. The new coach is going to have the exact same players. Besides a dream run during covid the Habs have been bad for years and years and years and I'm a die hard fan.
@@McInnisPicksit’s the coaches job to build a system, a style of play, and an identity. This group is confused. They don’t know what they’re doing, or where they’re supposed to be. This isn’t players not executing, it’s a confused mess and that’s on the coach. It’s early, they might sort it out but right now this team is still 4 weeks away from being ready to start the season.
@@scottm9010 they looked like an AHL team compared to the Rangers and it wasn't because of work ethic
this team is too soft , from management all the way to the players. Its a country club and someone needs to start breaking stuff
😂😂😂
My favorite player of all-time. Met Michel when I was 19 years old, outside Le Colisee, it was not long after Michel retired. Total chance meeting. Michel was gracious & kind. Stopped and talked, took pictures - great guy. I still wear #16, even at 48 years old, when I play hockey. Great interview.
good show guys !!!
Pierre talks about Scottie Bowman what else is new....
Maggo Mr howl 🎉
Sigh, all summer Brian was telling everyone how great this team was, 300 plus goals and never once talking about how bad this team is defensively, and now he's pointing out the obvious when fans like myself have been trying to tell fans all summer exactly what everyone is talking about. Habs are nowhere near a completed rebuild. Look at the Ducks, 2018 they started, and now, maybe a bubble playoff team. The Habs missing one player, Laine, and are a mess offensively. Their goaltending is a question mark. Our defense is young and Montreal's darling is behind the bench, a soft talking, smooth walking, loaded with experience but can't coach a rebuilding team. Saying all that.......I'm completely happy with it all. I want another high pick in 2025 and this team will accomplish that mission. We need elite talent to fill out the top two lines and there's only one place to find it. Drafting 1-10. I've said two years ago. Don't bring in Monahan, last yr, don't bring in Monahan, this yr, don't bring in Laine......but I get it, you have to give fans hope to put butts in the seats. We got Demidov (gifted to) at 5, so Monahan didn't hurt too much, but the year before could have been Carlsson, Fantilli, or Smith, all offensive beauts. Okay enough of this. Loved the show, but you know that. I have to watch the next day, but it's a great way to start the day. Last Point: Fans and hockey personalities (PJ Stock) are already talking about breaking up the top line to help Dach.......well, sorry, but on 9 Oct before the sns started I said you can't play with one line and that Slaf needs to play with Dach. Cole and Nick don't need Slaf to succeed, but Dach can't succeed without Slaf or Cole. Something has to give here.
It's called Columbus day.
Because he only played 6 games in the NHL, wait until he played 20...then he won't look back.......
Awesome show, good to add Brian's vision to the show.
That was a lot of fun, thanks guys. I’m really warming to Brian. I love his enthusiasm.
Merveilleux, great podcast guys.
His nickname should be ''Pinball Hutson''!!
Its always a pleasure listening to Brian talk hockey.
