How do you like the mk3? I got mine about 2 and a half weeks ago and love how the keybed feels. Pads are dope too. Just seeing how your experience has been in Reaper with it

Are the 1/2 mic outputs of this card suitable for recording electric guitar with DAW VST amplifiers? I did not find a Hi-Z mode, and I do not like the tone, too much background noise and distortion

i have both and love them but i find myself on bandlab to create then i export to cakewalk to finish it up and wow sounds great i never had anyone complain

Another long-time Studio One user here. The hybrid license terms are.... interesting. It is still a subscription for those who want to stay current. What I don't like is the upgrade pricing. I've been using Studio One Pro since verison 4,, and folks who have the lowest version are paying the same upgade price as I would?? Where is the loyalty to those who have been Pro for years? I feel like $149 is too much, although we dont' really know what we are getting. From the leaked screen shots it doesn't look like a compelling update for me; I have no need for stem seperation. The $149 upgrade to Version 6 did little for me as well. I am thinking of moving to Ableton, which I have a license to. I'll keep Studio 6 as I can use the mastering pages. But my day-to-day DAW may not be Studio One going forweard.

Does Sonar have the arrangement feature like Next does, I kinda like that feature of seeing the arrangement

I have been a fan of Cakewalk since 1989. Fast forward 35yrs later, I'm still supporting this product despite having Pro Tools, Luna and Presonus. Must be a psychological thing.😄 I purchased the new Sonar version March of this year to try it out; the jury is still out. If no perpetual license is offered I will not renew.

I have been on Studio One since Version 3. I have no problem with Artist versions paying same upgrade price. Those people are not hurting me. I can never hate in another man's come up if it is not hurting me. I know I have benefitted from sale prices or freebies of products othera paid full price for. I got what I willingly paid for and have been satisfied . I feel bad that I have one less free option to suggest as a possibility to beginners. I see the new pricing model as a compromise of maintaining perpetual licensing . $149 is the usual upgrade price. The only thing they are "taking away" is the extra year of free upgraded features in between version numbers. The tradeoff is perpetual users will get many add-ons previously available as paid or subscription-only add-ons. I think Presonus made a huge mistake in not showcasing details like new features and full list of add-ons that will be available. Leading with pricing change is a good way to derail excitement.

You need to setup a master class for Reaper. Lots of videos from square on to pro. Could be a paid service.

I use cakewalk as my live performance DAW. I use the song list as the method to sort and set up set list. Can that be done in Reaper?

Long time Studio One user here. It's a great program but I've come to realise I don't make enough money from music for me to justify constantly paying for upgrades. I want to be in the latest version but seriously, I can't name many features added since version 2 that really has made a true difference for me. Even though there was some good stuff. So I'm not upgrading. I'll either stay on 6.5 as long as it can run on my OS. After that who knows..

The reason I came back to FL Studio (last used Ver. 9). I have a shit load of VST's that I've collected and still use to this day, Stuff I got while getting my monthly dose of MusicTech and Future Music Magazines also collected on the VST Planet website.....They all run in FL Studio. Not in Ableton and not on my MPC Touch. Frustration finally kicked in while looking for a Deep Bass that even MPC Sound Packs couldn't provide.

Does this interface drive the beyerdynamic 250 ohm headphones well? I noticed you are wearing a set but couldn't tell what the ohms are on the pair you are using.

I have been using Studio One since Version 5 and I have been using the subscription since version 5.5> Personally it has exceeded expectation of all my needs. I have tried a lot of other DAWs in the past and to me Studio One blows the others away hands down.

Its a NO for me. I spent a small fortune on Pro tools years ago, then moved to Cakewalk, then to Reaper and have been using it for almost two years now and it does everything I need and more!

Cubase Pro Competitive Crossgrade $ 164.71 @best services better value for bucks. Just upgraded to S1 Pro 6 about a year. This new model cost for current pro user sux. I rather get Cubase for now.

I don't have a problem with subscriptions - I tried Studio One Sphere (as it then was) but found I didn't really use all the extra features, loops and sounds. So I bought a perpetual licence for version 6. I'm happy with what I've got, but if v7 offers me functionality that I "must have", I'll be happy to pay to upgrade. Then I'll review every two years and see if another upgrade is worth it. I think the new pricing model is pretty reasonable.

I struggle with the idea of subscriptions. I will look at Cubase 13. I already have Mixcraft and Reaper. Thank you for this video and explanation.

No. I will definitely not update. Version 6 is enough for me. I don't need any more functions that I won't use anymore. As a 60-year-old amateur musician, I get along just fine with Cubase, S1 and FL.

36:12 I've been using FL Studio for a long time now since like FL2 ~1998 or something like that so it is just the natural daw for me cause it was the first one that let me enjoy making music easily. Before that was tracking programs(was more deliberate required programming every note), rebirth (which was great but sort of limited to the sounds in rebirth) FL was a quick way of making neat sounds, and with VST support it make it adaptable, you could also load rebirth save filesinto it .rbs back in the day, it also had DX support the other plugin format before VST took over. At this point I am also trying to force myself to record into LUNA. Reason now offers rack integration as a VST plugin in FL studio. It also has clap plugin support. I have bitwig also and thing it has some interesting elements it felt ok for loop and pattern sets but FL Still was sort of built as a drum machine so in getting stuff scratched out quickly it still feels sort more intuitive but I need to spend more time with bitwig I still am sort of at a point of audio fine tuning such as modulation fxs bitwig studio also comes with a lot of sounds. I have cubase and absolute which is great for plugins both, (but they are massive in size) I always have viewed cubase better for tracking and mixing than bear bones composition, I might try to use it for mixing and tracking after using fl studio. Reaper also seems promising. While I do have a license for waveform I havn't used it too much I think it feels similar to bigwig. IMO you can get quite a bit of samples and plugins with the daws, comparitive to one off vst plugins the price is not that different to the flagship plugins for the daw and all its plugins and samples. $999 is quite a bit but you can assume that is the cost for the "plugins" or bundled in content. That said I think the prices are sort of high for one off purchases compared to fl studio which isn't that bad for all the upgrades over the years it adds up over time. That said I think we are probably getting near the end of software with the emergence of more and more powerful ai. All them are useful for making audio. IMO its more about the bells and whistles that differentiate the daws. You have to ask yourself what does waveform do that FL Studio does not and vice versa and then ask do I need that feature. IMO a the daws now are very capable.

This is brilliant! I've struggled for YEARS trying to get a setup like this that has less then 3 incomprehensible layers. The trick is that "allow feedback" preference setting. Again, quite brilliant! THANK YOU!

Started using cakewalk when I was kid. it was called guitar tracks pro. There are old versions I wish I had. Been a bumpy ride. Planning to switch to pro tools when I'm caught up on my work.

Fl studio is what ima stick to. No subscription. And as for cakewalk by BandLab I will stick to that :) I wish the midi and matrix mode I posted in the forums upgrade could have been added on cakewalk by BandLab 😢

Long time Cakewalk user (25+ yrs) who's started shopping to around for my next DAW cuz BandLab/Cakewalk has been a such a sh*t show on this. I mean, is it chaos over there or what? I'll always be grateful that they revived Cakewalk after it went belly up years ago, but I'm too suspicious of them now. Things are definitely different for the worse. I'm moving on.

I've been using sonar my whole life, but I'm already prepping to make the switch to Luna. Way better hardware and software. They have native versions of almost everything now. Oh, and you can actually own it, which is the best part🎉
