I miss NSDA a lot. I've been in since freshman year, and I'm a senior now. We didn't have it last year, nor do I think at this point we'll be having one this year. You're amazing, man. You got me tearing up so much, please--- girl, you did so good.
This is absolutely amazing! This will be my third year doing SSA/DI. I made it to state last year, but didn't make it terribly too far. Do you have any tips for me about how to improve my performance or if piece selection is a huge part of making it far? I don't think I'll ever make it as far as you did, but I at least want to improve this year!

Can you share with me the impact coming in 3rd has had on your life personally and professionally.. anything you would say to her? She is a brilliant powerful black young woman and I won’t love her any less if she doesn’t win but I want her to believe in herself that she can and that her being in the room where it happens matters.... you are Amazing! I know your parents are proud of Who you are! Keep going for your dreams!!! There is no limit!!!🥰

You're not bothering me at all! I will say that no matter what piece you're given or you pick yourself, make sure that you try to find a connection to your own personal life or picture yourself in the situation presented in the script. It makes it a lot easier to show true emotion during your performances! Make sure that you give it your all and keep in mind that what you share through your piece will mean something to someone in the audience!

Make sure that you have fun!! If you give yourself the opportunity to genuinely enjoy what you're doing then it'll show through your piece, and that allows the audience to connect with you more. I believe that tournaments are online due to the virus which can make it difficult to connect. I'd suggest that you look into the camera as if you were looking into the eyes of your judge, it will help them feel more of a connection! Let me know how it goes!

if your school has a subscription to forensics fanatics that would be a great place to start. if not just start finding plays and once you find one that sounds good cut down from that. monologue books are also good
@@braxton5264 I agree! I would also make sure that the message is something that you can connect to, both of my national pieces were based off of something I experienced and or had a connection to in a different way.
