All I did was apply light pressure with my fingers and pushed it out around the edges working my way around the glass.

I have all of my el camino interior. Door panels, dash, climate control, seat belts. Ect. Ill give it to guys if u guys want it. I'm giving it away im going a different route in restoring mines. Let me know if u guys r interested

I have used Corroseal for so many projects... everything from rusty door hinges, wheelbarrows, outdoor furniture, fencing, and of course automotive applications. It is the MOST AMAZING PRODUCT I have ever used. I spent $16 on a 32oz bottle about 10 years ago & I still have about 12oz left!!!! IMPORTANT TIP: DO NOT STORE anywhere that will get HOT, like a GARAGE or SHED. The material at the bottom of the bottle will rubberize & you will lose product.

How come you didn't like the glossy look that looks brand new?

it helps tremendously if you take a little propane tourch and warm up the metal frame around the window. it will soften the urethane and you can just push out the glass with your hand.

If you aren't all set on your paint work all the way, you can dry sand the clear with 3000 and then wet sand again with another 2 coats of clear will really help your scratches with orange peel. Will keep watching to see end results.

This is useful for someone going through this. I have to say that I just don't like the look of the stock GM dash. I would be tempted to do something custom and simple as a replacement. Couldn't look any worse than the stock dash design. Anyway, cool video! There's nothing that substitutes for an El Camino.

I have a 1982 El-Camino and there is no reason to drill out the weld tabs. Those brackets made to support the dash, don't drill them out. The brackets come out with the dash.

Great video. You give me hope for my eternal project ElCo. Be careful with the rust converter; it does stop rust, but will cause the metal to harden. It should be fine on the frame, but any fasteners will likely become brittle.
