I understand the concept of locking the deck in the (tilted) up position to prevent premature downward motion when loading long wheelbase vehicles/machines, but then how do you lower it for transport? I assume you have to move the machine far (forward) enough so all it's wheels are on the deck (while the deck is still locked up) then manually release the lock (?)

Getting that spare tire out of that well could give you a hernia.

The gas shocks are mounted upside down. The rod side always mounted downhill so the seal stays wet, doesn’t dry out, and lose gas pressure. Mounting them upside down will cause them to fail in a year or two.
