Ya you can just leave it in sport and will stay off
You don't need to buy anything under the dash you can unplug 1 wire that control trail being hooked unplug wire under dash no problem
I was told by the tech people who work on these cars are having more frequent starter failures. Also slightly greater engine bearing and piston ring wear over time. I was told if I tamper with the auto start/stop on my vehicle it can void warranty. In my area where I live it is illegal to tamper with it.
Just get in the habit of pushing the button after starting it.Problem solved will be second nature after awhile.Better then a hack job I feel.
will it work/fit a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe?
So, for a quick hack. Insteading of buying that auto stop, can you just super gule that On/Off but to the "Off" position and that would perform the same job? I am sure 90% people don't like that stupid feature anyway. I had it on my SUV and I hated it too.
Alright well your description of a starter becoming electronic was so dumb i don't know what to say. You really should look into something called Forscan before you say you can't code a Ford vehicle. Vacuous brain attached to a mouth. why?
You still have an auxiliary battery to maintain ( replace ) when it goes bad. This plug-in device is only half of the job, reroute the positive cable to the auxiliary battery, remove the ground cable , and pull the fuse. Then the plug-in device won't be needed.
Every time your engine stops oil drains from your valve train and has to be re-oiled when your engine starts so your engine does ware more. The result is the infamous engine tick.
Common sense says stopping the oil flow on a 1500+ degree turbo charger is a horrible idea and will negate any fuel savings that the start stop feature saves. Politicians don't care.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I have just ordered the auto-stop eliminator.
My 2019 F150 has a button you can push on the dash to shut off the auto start/stop.
My acura 2015 auto stop drive me crazy. Even the acura dealership says " you have to turn it off every time you get into the car. Very annoying.
I just stuck a Starbucks coffee stirer in the corner of the cancel button...problem solved and I can just pull it out whenever I want.
OBD auto start stop working for 2017 maserati ghibli sq4?
Yep... I HATE THIS FEATURE... thank you
so the w4nk just wants to talk and pollute a lot
I really like the simplicity of this tool, but the OBD port is not made for items to stay plugged in
Does it work on the 2023 Mazda cx touring?
What cost the eliminator and this contact in every new car?
complete lies, YES STOP START SAVES ABOUT 5-85 IN CITY DRIVING this guy is full of shit
Anyone know what might happen if there were a warranty concern and the dealer found this device plugged into your OBDII port? Especially on a leased or rented vehicle.
Thank you! Awesome clear explanation
Why a 7 minute video to get 2 minutes of information?
actual it does save gas lol, but you cant even make a video with proper sound so i doubt you know anything about real life LOL
I hate it Too 😤 its killing my starter i can feel it ugh 😢😢😢
How Dare You exercise "free will" ! You will be hunted down and punished by the all controlling government. Don't you know that you are too ignorant to know what's good for you?
Couldn't you just wire the off switch permanently off?
I drive a 2022 Chrysler Voyager at work doing medical transport. I have observed the MPG with my driving habits for the last 6 MONTHS, both with and without using the auto start/stop feature. With it ON, I average 17.8 mpg. With it OFF, I average 20.4 mpg. I gain an additional 3 mpg with it off!
Will this work on a Toyota?
The 2017 Cadillac xt5 doesn’t even give you an option button to shut the auto stop down. Don’t know what your ECM auto stop cost but Amazon got one for $$13 you just plug into the harness by the fan that works great and keeps your ecm open.
I purchased this about three years ago. It lasted about a year then my computer kicked it out. Do you have any feedback on that?
On a Nissan Frontier, stick a small piece of a small wire strap into the bottom of the switch, turning it on. Now every time you start the engine, the A.S.S system is disabled. Or you can pull the switch and jump over two connectors, the signal wire to the computer and ground and again, everytime you start it will be off. So, give that a try first. but it works on my 2023 Nissan Frontier and is turned off for good. And many other vehicles work the same way and it will save a lot of money not having to purchase an expensive device.
Save your money and just unplug it at the negative terminal on the battery.
That's so cool
That's so cool
Thank you
Thank you
Just press the button and stick it in the pushed position with a paper clip. Works great.
What an Idiotic and dangerous feature to have in a vehicle.
To put it a simple layman's terms emissions are higher on start ups that is a fact and it is due to the ECM richening the mixture , so this is a big lie, just like Trump -
Thank you for the video. Blessings to you.
Thanks !!!!!!!
Can you please do this video over again with a much darker marker, such as the dark one you use for the title of your chalkboard thank you
The starters on vehicles are electric yes but you must have a mechanical connection to the crankshaft to actually initiate the rotation of the components in the engine itself. The starter has a small gear that's driven by an electric motor. When you initiate the start sequence, the fuel pump turns on and primes the system, ignition coils are energized, the starter receives power and pushes the small gear forward to engage with either your flywheel or flex plate (manual or automatic transmission) then begins rotating the entire rotating assembly of the engine ( crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, camshaft(s) etc). The engine is rotating, the fuel starts flowing into the combustion chamber, spark is initiated and the engine co.es to life. Diesels are relatively similar minus the spark seeing as they work off of combustion solely on compression and heat. Point is yes the starter is electrically driven but always mechanically engaging.
You're spot on. I was just about to comment the same thing and I saw your excellent comment.
so on a lease, you only pay interest on the depreciating value, and not on the total car value? so if a money factor is 0.0022 (meaning, 5.2% APR), that means I would pay that interest only on the depreciation of the car?
I like my auto stop in my silverado, though it is not as smooth as the one in the Porsche Cayenne i tried several years ago
So here's the arguments from comments about why stop-start system should be disabled and my counterarguments: - "It brings a lot of extra wear on the engine" - The most wear occurs on COLD starts, when oil film is more viscous and thin. When you come at a stoplight, engine is already coated in oil and at operating temperature, it takes a matter of days for that oil coat to actually come off. The starter and battery are built to adjust for the amount of work they do. - "But what if I have to escape an emergency" - You won't. Seriously. It's wishful thinking and hubris, at best. When faced with an emergency, in the moment of highest stress, your body under noradrenaline will resort to the lowest level of your training. When was the last time you practiced your emergency stop? Slalom? Emergency lane change? Don't delude yourself. If you are about to be rear-ended, you have a headrest and your seatbelt will automatically pre-tension itself as soon as the collision sensors sense the collision, as they are designed for that kind of emergency. And if it's an ambulance/police/firemen you gotta give way to, just lift your foot off the brake, it will turn on and start creeping. And if you are one of those 1 in a million that actually DOES practice, my hat's off to you, although I bet you're not concerned with start-stop all too much anyway and know how to use it. - "Oh it's unpredictable and sudden and jerky" - No, it really isn't. It shuts off the car under very specific conditions: - The battery has enough charge and the electrics in the car are not asking too much (if AC is full blast or rear demister is turned on the car won't shut down) - The car's not too hot or too cold (turbo oil temperature, engine oil temperature) - The steering wheel is relatively straight and not moving (maybe you're stopped in a turn for an on-ramp, it understands that, too) - The brake pedal is held pressed past the biting point (10-15% of pedal travel normally) OR parking pawl (P gear) is set And it starts the car under very specific conditions: - Brake pedal above biting point - Steering wheel movement - Electrics ask more of the battery than it can sustain at the moment - Clutch pedal pressed in - Shift to D - Auto stop-start shut-off button is pressed - In cars with adaptive cruise control, it starts the car when radar senses cars ahead moving away Don't drive "gas-brake-gas-brake" into everyone's bumpers. Be smooth and gentle with the pedals. Give space to everything and let go of gas as soon as you see that things are about to slow down. Every foot you travel off the gas is driven without any fuel, and you can brake sooner then, and much more efficiently. When you come to a stop at a light and you're more than 3 cars away, put it in park and chill. The car will shut off but keep electrics running. Still want AC? Wiggle your steering ever so slightly, the car will start up. When the light turns green, all you need to do is put it in drive and let go of brake, something you will do anyway. If you're closer to the light, or you're on a hill, then keep your foot on the brake. If your car doesn't have the hill hold assist and you're close to the light, THEN turn off the system. If the hill is steep, you really should know how to take off from handbrake. Every once in a while, go on a practice drive with your car. Practice starts, stops, turns, parking, lane changes. Practice using cruise control - there's more beyond the SET and RES buttons that you can do.
That's why I got Mazda CX-5, no bull is installed on this vehicle. I was rear ended few days ago with all the lights on mine and the truck which hit me. My Honda CRV will be totaled
I like the idea but does it effect the warranty? You would also have to pull it out when you run it through emissions testing for tab renewal (in areas that require it) and are there any known computer issues?
No problem, the switch on the dash will turn the feature right back on so the dealer (warranty) won't know anything unless they disassemble the dash and look for it.
