Nightstand build - hand cut dovetailed drawer
มุมมอง 18K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
Nightstand build from Black Walnut. Drawer sides are hard Maple. Traditional way of drawer making: half-lap dovetails on drawer front. Through dovetails on the back. Solid wood as the bottom instead of plywood. Drawer bottom grain should be going from side to side, not front to back as I did. This can loosen or block the drawer over time with seasonal expansion/contraction. I did however, leave...

Incredible work mate. I’m not into all of this, I’m a lawyer but I really enjoy watching this kind of woodwork. So interesting and the results are quite good. Maybe someday I’ll buy some tools and start doing it too. U got a new subscriber man! 💯
@@gerard_owen thank you, appreciate it. It’s really calming and seeing the end result is pretty satisfying.
Were those Narex or Narex Richter chisels? Just regular bench chisels for all of the work, no special mortise chisels for the mortises in the legs and cross support? It is a very nice piece.
@@davidgoldsmith2904 Narex Richter. Regular bench chisels are good enough for the job. Thanks 👍
Stunning and I love your workbench.
@@spig3547 thank you, much appreciated.
Just love the way the colour comes alive when finish is applied.
Dadgum thats pretty
Highly skilled 🎉
Really nice ❤
Can we get a link to buy??
Please check my instagram where I unbox and showcase the knife for the information.
This video is so satisfying. It fills me full of joy and contentment. Hand tools are very comforting.
OOooooo ... I love me some hand tool videos! Yes.
Я думал это что-то из Пакистана... Но Рубанок тоже хорошо... Скорее всего, наверное
It is made in Poland. Check out how these are build on TH-cam: Stavros Gakos
That’s a beautiful plane, it’s fantastic there are still folks out there making tools like this. Is the blade new or is it a repurposed vintage blade?
The plane is really awesome and a joy to use. The blade looks vintage, but I’m not sure. Stavros Gakos has more info on his TH-cam channel.
@@HarisWoodshopi made the iron from scratch 🤟
😃👍
A beaut
Good working
Very beautiful. Can you please share the dimensions. I am from India and would like to get it made :)
Thank you. 50 cm wide - 30 cm high
Muy buen trabajo, prolijo y detallado. ¡Felicitaciones! 🙌 Saludos desde Argentina. 🇦🇷
I love someone using a carving mallet for joinery. Especially as your work is exquisite. Obviously you use very high end tools and produce very high end work, but I just love it when someone goes against the grain and says: I'm comfortable using this tool not that one. Phenomenal work, you've got a happy new subscriber here.
Thank you, appreciate it 👍
Nice fine work
I am new to woodworking, what is the tool you used as a guide to cut the dovetail angel ?
It’s the Katz-Moses dovetail jig.
@@HarisWoodshop thanks , appreciate your info 🙏
How expensive was it?
YES
@@HarisWoodshop hmmmmm 😂
Thought the package was a block of that Colombian snow at first lmao
😂😂
A very good piece of furniture. Thanks for sharing
А зубці не потріскаються з першим же розчісуванням?
No, but it would’ve been better if I used the opposite grain direction.
Be honest now, this is just plain f'ing ugly. And that is not even an opinion.
Wonderful work and great video. Like the non-talking and let the work speak for it self and also the sound of the machines is music to the ears😊
Surely it is worth watching and the best part is made just by using hand tools only no electric except for at one point you used dust collector , well it doesn't count.
simple but elegant lines. excellent execution 👍
ME GUSTA MUCHO
Beautiful
"Handcut" then proceeds to use all kinds of machinery lol
Where do you see me using any machines to cut the dovetails?
Beautiful work!
I just might try making this exact stool But I'll admit. I'm terrible with hand chisels so my version of an ASMR video would include a few choice words not safe for kids. 😂
A wooden box is made and a demonstration is made: mitre joint by hand, dovetailed mitre joint by hand, sharpening, shooting board, stock positioning, tool selection and accuracy in using tools.
Simplemente fantástico!
Neat job, a true craftsman.
Great work . What kind of hard wax oil did you use ? what brand? Was searching for a good one all information will help me thank you
Thanks. I’m using Oli Natura (german) hard wax oil for a long time now and very pleased with it’s results.
tudo muito artesanal da trabalho mais vale a pena tudo nota 10 queria saber de uma coisa onde você comprou aquela serrinha de mâo aquela vermelha pode falar obrigado
Thank you. It is from Knew Concepts.
@@HarisWoodshop obrigado amigo
Amei esse banquinho , gratidão infinita 🌟👏👏🎉🥂😄💖.
Thank you 🙂
Wow
Nice 👍 what type of sharpening stones are Angle guide. Are you using. I have used Japanese water stones for about forty years, but your system looks less messy. The small corner. clamp is nice too. I make custom Cigar. Humidors for the cigar aficionados.
Thanks 🙌 Japanese diamond stones from Atoma. The best I’ve ever used. Switched to diamond stones because of the mess water stones make like you said. One of the best choices I made for the shop. Nice, I want to try to make a humidor for myself in the future. I heard Spanish cedar is the best wood for it?
@@HarisWoodshop I use Spanish cedar, I think it’s a bit better than American cedar. Is the angle guide for the plane iron from the same company. I have an old Stanley one and it’s got a crack in it. Have a great day
@@dusty7264the angle guide is from banggood: Mohoo Sharpening System. Don’t think less because it’s a Chinese brand. It is of very high quality and extremely well machined. Many commercial Western brands should take notes.
Beautiful video. It was a pleasure to watch. I’m mostly a power tool woodworker but appreciate the skill that goes into handtool work. Question: how do you like the Furniture Butter long term? How does it hold up to use
Thank you, much appreciated! It’s actually the first time using Furniture Butter. It looks pretty good using it almost a month, but can’t say anything long term..
Great work and presentation. Thank you.
Great job! Thank you😉
I thank you 🙌
nice work dude 👍👍
Thanks man, appreciate it 🙌
Outstanding workmanship!
It’s very enjoyable watching your performance. I, always learn a lot . Thanks.
Wonderful videography matched by excellent woodworking. Thank you for sharing your gifts. 🥰
you did an Awesome job I like watching some day I want to try
Thank you. You should definitely try. Hand tool work is very calming and therapeutic.
Excellente vidéo, j’adore le montage et les prises de vues. Bravo !
