Awesome job, looks fantastic 👏 👌
@@ianhands9289 thank you! I can’t wait to do another one.
Lot of times if your starting a new unfamiliar project take a lot of pictures before and as your breaking down so you can remember how to re assemble everything again. Works for me. Upholstery is a dirty job a lot of the time. Nothing you can do about it but clean up after yourself. As far as loosing your sizzers have more than than one pair available at your machine. Or make yourself a holster that you can carry on your belt at all times. Semper fi.
what I've done to keep track of my little snips to cut the threads at the end of a run is I glued a strong magnet to the machine. The rule is - the snips are In My Hand or At The Magnet - works every time I follow the rule.
I like it, looks great, and im sure that your client will appreciate your creativity
Thank you!
i am not an expert but i thought seams were supposed to be done with upholstery glue, not Velcro. i would be happy with those results on my truck...
@@jeffeustice to be honest me either, but the original had Velcro on the seams the same way. If it were up to me I would have done it 100% different, but you’re pretty much limited to how the factory designed it. It’s a struggle with factories I swear
Got to admit. It looks GREAT. My truck now has that leather smell we all ❤️ LOVE. It wasn't as much of a risk to let him "practice " on my truck (in my opinion).
@ what are you talking about? I’m perfect and I never make any mistakes
What are you using to draw the lines with?
I am using a soft leaded white marking pencil. there are hundreds on amazon you can find. make sure they are water soluble so you can clean it off.
@@TheUpholsteryStudio Thank you. I will check it out.
What kind of shape gun are you using?
I use the Air Locker Model:U630L2 . I spent a good 30 mins trying to find a site you could order from but it looks like its discontinued. I found this one on amazon that is off brand but looks IDENTICAL to mine and is 1/3rd of the price. (type this in on amazon) H7116LSP-KT 22 Gauge 3/8-Inch Crown Pneumatic Upholstery Stapler with Long Nose, Air Stapler Kit, with 6000 Staples, 1/4-Inch to 5/8-Inch. mine was around $120. i also try to use 3/8th crown stainless staples for all of my upholstery. There are other Air Locker staple guns that i haven't used, but I'm sure are just as good. Hope this helps!
One said first, another said second. I’m Last I guess lol Consew is the best isn’t it? I wound up with the Sailrite Fabricator.
I do really like Consew, but if i had to label a brand as he best, it would for sure be Juki.
To me the French stitch looks better but isn’t the top stitch stronger?
yes, the topstitch is much stronger but i do agree with you, i like the French stitch way better.
Good Video!
Harbor Freight has a variety pack that has a staple remover. I don’t know how good it is.
Ill have to check that one out.
Super talented 🙂
@@samshepherds1557 your words of affirmation mean a lot to me lady
Nice job!
@ thanks for watching!
@@TheUpholsteryStudio You bet! Thanks for posting!
Nice Job. What size thread do you use for your diamonds?
I use solarfix 2000 ptfe for absolutely everything. That stuff is freaky strong.
@@TheUpholsteryStudio Thanks
Looking into starting doing upholstery but not sure about it yet. I look at this as a hobby that will bring in a small amounts of money from time to time before I can take it more seriously (I have a good paying full-time job now). As well as a good skill to make valuable gifts with my own hands. Don't really want to invest into sewing machine at this point, what would you recommend?
Hi, what's size ? thanks !
I can’t remember exactly but it was in the range of 3.5-4 feet wide.
@@TheUpholsteryStudio thanks
Hey Adrain. Don't know if your aware of this guy he's out of the Los Angeles area I believe. Hés A Mexican cat this guy is an absolute master of our craft. His channel is mostly in Spanish, but I think he also has an English version as well. Basically, you can just watch the dude, and you will understand. The guy covers everything, no shit. His equipment and shop isn't the prettiest but what he produces would make an Egyptian queen proud. It's well worth your time to give him a look see. His channel is called, Meca Upholstery. Hope I could help. Semper FI.
@@phillipabat8437 dude seriously thanks. I can’t find enough quality channels that are in-depth like I need
Good job. Thers always going to be shit to fix. Don't sweat it too much, just part of the job. It happens to everyone. Do you have a steamer? Heat takes out a lot of the wrinkles and tightens the vinyl and makes it conform better. Semper FI.
@@phillipabat8437 I do have a steamer, but it didn’t work with this specific material and if I’m being honest I was a bit lazy with it and could have probably done better
Just found your channel brother. I to learned how to sew in the Marine Corps back in 1977. 1181 Here stitch bitch. look forward to your channel. SF

I’m gonna try to reupholster all the seats in a boat I’m restoring some of the seats are so bad the frabic is all the gone I was wondering what I should do for the design on those seats?
@@jaimusjoyce6082 what type of boat is it?
@ I’m not 100 sure but I’m pretty positive it’s a late 90’s early 2000’s seadoo challenger 1800
@ I think it could look pretty sick to do double diamonds on the main pieces of each cushion
@@TheUpholsteryStudio alright Il try it out thanks a lot
Hey man I was wondering where you get your marine fabric I can’t find any good sites

@@Rip_Grave my wife decided to assist with my commentary on the full video lol
the coffee n cream is a such a delightful colour selection for the leather bussy
@Scubadog_ really makes the bussy pop😂
Nice work that you are showing everyone. I had a go myself, made my piping first then sewed it to the top and then added the border but the stitches are showing between the piping and top fabric, so I had to keep going over it but doesn't seem right any advice on how to stop stitches showing would be great please. Many thanks
@@edsjenk6150 do you have the correct foot for piping? And does the size of your foot match the size of the piping?
Hi, thanks for replying. The piping is 3mm nylon and I am using a 1/4" piping foot because by the time the vinyl is wrapped its bigger, unless I am thinking about it wrongly. Should I be using a 3mm foot?
I think I see your problem. I’ll either make a TH-cam short of a reg video this evening for you showing what I think it happening and what you can do to fix it
It comes in handy, to use the old cover you take off as the pattern for the new cover adding an inch for pulling reasons. It will fit perfectly.
Awesome!! 😂 Also excellent advice, Samantha
She obviously knows what she’s talking about lol

your giving people wrong info , i have 3 industrial machines . I have troy stanley over in rochester ,NH and i had him slow down my machines . he changed the wheels on the cluch motors.

Unfortunately not, I’m in South Carolina right now, but occasionally do jobs in Florida.

Can you tell me where you order marine quality sileather? I see several places have it but doesn’t say it’s the marine quality.
I’m gonna be honest with you, I have no idea. I got this through my work who gets it strait from the manufacturer via wholesale. I’ve tried finding it to order myself but have had no luck as well. Maybe buy from a local marine upholstery shop?
@@TheUpholsteryStudio I have reached out to the manufacturer requesting some information as I am just starting upholstery work for boats in East TN. I will let you know what I find out.
@@charlottephillips1681 gotcha. Si leather is definitely the hardest to get your hands on for sure. Whenever I figure out how to get that brand specifically I will let you know. But one place I get a lot of stuff from is fabricwarehouse.com. I use their Seaquest marine vinyl a lot.
@@TheUpholsteryStudio thank you. I have a local place that I can get the seaquest colors. I would like to used above standard factory materials if possible. I just got my consew set up and have a juki on the way as well. I sewed growing up and in a furniture factory years ago. Most people doing boats near me have retired so there is a need for it here and figured it would be good to have additional income.
