Thank you for the helpful video! Just so you know, you can select Layer > Layer Mask > From Transparency, then delete the layer mask instead of doing the layer stacking thing. Hope this helps!
Thank you for this video helped us a lot.
This is really cool, I imagine this saves some time
Thanks for making this video! It explained the process so well. I am going to be rethinking my DTF for printing.
Why did you need to bitmap it at such a huge resolution and then down size?
How do I then use the final product as a font? Thanks!
Thank You! I've been using the cropping feature but that is much easier!
I love listening to you, Mike!
❤ this is the nicest comment I’ve received to date! I try really hard to sound nice and I guess it’s working! Thank you!
I tried this method today but it didn't work in my case. No matter how many times I duplicated the layers and merged them, the final image was still transparent. I read a lot about this topic and apparently (and inexplicably) the same thing has happened to others. But I found a different method to make semi-transparent dots opaque. _ Once you have halftoned an image and saved it to your computer, upload it again to Photoshop. If you have more than one layer, click the layer with the image, then go to: Layer (at the top) > Layer Mask > From Transparency. This action will add a mask to the layer. With the new mask activated ( it has a white border), go to: Image (at the top) > Adjustments > Threshold (the switch will be at 128). Once the new dialog box opens, you can see that all the transparent/semi-transparent pixels have been converted into fully opaque pixels. You can slightly adjust the look of the image by dragging the switch to the left or right. When you drag the switch to the left, the image will expand to include some of the previous semi-transparent pixels. If you drag it to the right, the image will contract, excluding the ex-semi-transparent pixels from the image. It all depends on what you want to obtain.
Finally a video adressing halftone dot transparency! I've been struggling with this issue for 2 months. Thank you!!
What program are you using
I use Photoshop which is paid software, but you can follow along with any of my tutorials using Photopea which is free. Here is a starte tutorial that involves Photopea: th-cam.com/video/Ob7QQNUymxg/w-d-xo.html
Thank you sooo much! I've been wasting so much space on my Gang sheets!
Good videos. Thanx.
Thank you!
really interesting....i have never attempted to build a gang sheet in any software other than yours...its too easy...😉
Thanks for that!
Thanks for the video. This is slightly different to how I do it but your stacking method is something new. Do you have a link to download your action for that ?
This was absolutely AWESOME! Thank you for a thorough tutorial that even I can follow :D
You are so welcome! I'm glad to hear that. I'm working on making things simpler and using free software!
Thank you so much!
This was great. Thank you
This video was very helpful! Thank you for sharing 🙏☀️
When I take the design into the Cricut Design Space software my outline portion is filled in again. I thought maybe it was a layer in Inkscape but when I open the layers it is only showing one layer with no others listed. Thoughts on what might be going on?
No this isn’t the correct way.
Karl, I am learning just like everyone. Please tell uys the correct way or provide a link! It would be helpful and appreciated!
Provide a link to a better tutorial please. This is not a useful comment
Www is definitely old school. It happened a thousand years ago. Lol
Hello sir thank you for your video! But i try step by step but revers button is not working ? Can you help me
I assume you mean revert. Be sure to save your projectat 300 dpi, you may be missing that step.
thank you so much, really needed it!
Nice info. You mentioned something about getting smoother halftone. Would increasing the frequency produce a smoother halftone?
I've learned more since this and I still have much to learn. What you should do is experiment. Halftoning has to be done at the scale the image will be printed at. The smaller your dots, the tighter the alignment on the printer must be. Really small stuff will not stick anyway so it will not matter.
Hold control and scroll the wheel on the mouse to move side to side
You rock! Thanks.
Your dad picked up on your using light and and background and source of light. You’re doing a great job.
Very informative......your content is awesome...even an old hippie brain like mine can comprehend.
Awesome! One old hippie to another! <3
Great video; thanks for posting this. It's good to see someone who actually edits the AI output. Using AI in combination with one's own skills is the best workflow for quality.
I absolutely agree! Thank you!
Thank you this was very helpful.
I love hearing your voice.
Thank you ❣️
Hey, I understood everything.
You went live and I missed it.
What about the gugaplex?
Actually it was a flux capacitor :-)
Hi. Is there any ink scape extension for dtf rip??
Not that I know of! We use Cadlink. Flexy is another option we are exploring.
Did you know? There are sophisticated upscalers that add detail, using clever algorithms. My workflow often involves that as a preprocessor for the vectorizer
Agreed! I use Gigapixel in most of my workflows.
TLDW: Downscale to native resolution, then vectorize. It's counter-intuitive how downscaling helps, as a pre-processing for vectorizing. Can you explain why?
It is extremely counter intuitive! Downscaling to smooth out fuzzy edges helps the vector software to not attempt to redraw jagged parts. If you present smooth lines to the algorithm you will get cleaner results. This is a case by case basis.
That really added so pizzazz. Did she like it?
She loved it!
My motto!
