Description:
The empirical approach means working in a fact-based, experience-based, and evidence-based manner. In particular, progress is based on observations of reality, not fictitious plans based on many upfront requirements.
In short, we can learn and improve upon past mistakes and experiences. Scrum is founded on empiricism, and Three pillars uphold every implementation of empiricism. Scrum events are built around these three pillars. If these pillars are appropriately followed, Scrum will be healthy. The three pillars of empiricism are:
Transparency
Inspection
Adaptation
So, let’s talk about all these pillars. First is transparency.
According to the Scrum Guide, in Scrum, transparency means the emergent process and work must be visible to those performing the work and those receiving the work. With Scrum, important decisions are based on the perceived state of its three formal artifacts. Artifacts with low transparency can lead to decisions that diminish the value and increase risk. Transparency enables inspection. Inspection without transparency is misleading and wasteful.
Then Inspection.
According to the Scrum Guide, The Scrum artifacts and the progress toward agreed goals must be inspected frequently and diligently to detect potentially undesirable variances or problems. To help with inspection, Scrum provides cadence in the form of its five events.
An inspection enables adaptation. Inspection without adaptation is considered pointless. Scrum events are designed to provoke change.
What is pretty essential to understand is that inspection in this context is not an inspection by an inspector or an auditor but an inspection by everyone on the Scrum Team.
And the last is an adaptation
According to the Scrum Guide, If any aspects of a process deviate outside acceptable limits or if the resulting product is unacceptable, the process being applied or the materials being produced must be adjusted. The adjustment must be made as soon as possible to minimize further deviation.
Adaptation becomes more complicated when the people involved are not empowered or self-managing. A Scrum Team is expected to adapt when it learns anything new through inspection.
Adaptation in this context is about continuous improvement, the ability to adapt based on the inspection results. The adaptation follows from the first two pillars (is driven by them, in fact), but really adaptation is the pillar that has the most direct impact on the product.
In conclusion, empiricism and the three pillars are not just crucial to the Scrum process they're the foundation of it. It is how your team achieves continuous improvement in the products you create and the processes you use for your team. The accountabilities, events and artifacts only work because of their adherence to value-based incremental improvements produced by embracing frequent feedback and embracing change.

hi, @Volkerdon what's the discount code for the exam simulator
Devitzone is best for Scrum exams
hi, what's the disciunt code for the exam simulator on volkerdron
I am concerned by the use of the word 'Servant' in 'Servant Leadership'. While it conveys accurately what is expected from a Scrum Master, it violates the norms of inclusive language. It may, on occasion, create a difficult work environment for a scrum master associated with a new team, a large team, or an immature team. All situations where there could be misinterpretation of the term. I am glad the term was dropped completely. Where required, it could easily be modified to 'Supportive Leadership', for example.
I agree with this whole-heartedly. Supportive really depicts the role more so than servant. Servant can have a negative subconscious connotation.

Can you please advise me good book about product ownership? Thx for your video.
Hi Alexey, Soon we will add new video about PSPO 1 preparation. Anyway these 2 books we may reccomend you to get more knowledge about product ownership: 1 - The Professional Product Owner: Leveraging Scrum as a Competitive Advantage (www.amazon.com/Professional-Product-Owner-Leveraging-Competitive/dp/0134686470/ref=sr_1_4?crid=Z18K6QOXWHIQ&keywords=pspo+1&qid=1643625372&sprefix=pspo+1%2Caps%2C152&sr=8-4 )- not very big, but very valuable book about product ownership 2 - How to Lead in Product Management: Practices to Align Stakeholders, Guide Development Teams, and Create Value Together (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1916303005/ ) - a very good book from one the most notable author - Roman Pichler There are also some other books about product management and product ownership, but first read these 2 books

I have cleared PSM 1 Examination. Thank you for this valuable information video. Can you please tell me - what will be next step? ( what certification I can do next after clearing PSM 1 Examination ?)
Hi Animesh, First of all our congratulations! Really great result. Regarding your question, to be honest it depends on many factors. First of all, many students do not continue their certification way and just satisfied with PSM 1 certification (really it is not bad). But there are also many students who are trying to pass another certifications. If you want and you are planning to be the Scrum Master or Agile Coach in nearest 2-3 years, I guess it will be better for you to try pass PSM 2 certification. It is more about real practice rather theory and due to this it is very valuable certification. Also you may try to pass PSPO 1 certification. I guess there are many Scrum Masters with these 2 certifications. I may also recommend you to pass PMI-ACP certification, but in my mind it is more about "name" in compare with PSM certification. Anyway, again, it depends on how you are planning to create you career.

Hi Helena, Sure, you may use it in Kanban. The MoSCoW method is a prioritization technique , not Agile or Waterfall technique.
