Yes, when im looking for touring advice, I always consult young men fresh out of high school who have never been on an actual major tour but rather drove across state lines to play with someone no one has heard of. We don't ride in vans on real tours. Young man, stop trying to put the cart before the horse. Leave the advice to those who have actually done something.

I'm not storing my cymbals on their edge, I store them flat, I don't care how difficult they are to get to.

Question. I see this is a metal rack. If you're concerned about keyholing using the cymbal safe, wouldn't it also be a concern with metal to metal contact with the rack and cymbal edges?

I've been making use of the far side of a Guitar stand that holds 3 guitars and a bunch of cymbals. They are not spread out, but still easier to access than when laying down and stacked.

Aaron ! What a great idea!!! Right now my extra cymbals are in a hard cymbal case on an adjustable drawing table which I need for my artwork. I don't think I will fill it up with cymbals as yours is , but I have watercolor blocks and drawing paper that I can put in these slots as well. I just ordered this item from Amazon and they had one left ! This unit will fit under a fold up table I use almost daily for artwork and holding extra snare drums etc.. 😜

go to home depot and get some pipe insulation and you can add some padding to the rack
