Great walk through and inspiration for anyone looking at creating an orchestral piece. Not to take anything away from this video, it is sad that strings on the Fantom seem so lacklustre, they just don't have that bite or depth unless you use samples. Wish the Fantom had a dedicated string engine - I'm sure the boffins at Roland could do it - rather than constantly reselling sounds from the 80's - the processing power in this beast is well capable of it.

The axial website which is connected to the Roland cloud account does have some very convincing string and orchestral sound palettes. I used to own both expansion boards back in the day. Now you can just add them to your Roland. You might be surprised at how realistic they are. axial.roland.com/

@@how2playgospel INC+/- didn't work for me while in Keyboard Switch Group Pad mode. However, I could assign: - Channel 1 to the parts 1 and 2 - Channel 2 to parts 3 and 4 - Channel 3 to oarts 5 and 6 Using the first 8 parts in Part View with Scene Remain on. And the sound didn't cut off that way either when switching I could send Channel Change messages to the Roland, but for some reason the keys that controlled the sound changes were the controller keyboard ones and not the Fantom-06 keys. Still I believe some pedalboard should send Channel + messages via Standard 5 pin Midi connections. If you have one and try, feel free to share the results and let me know :)

Suggestion find a song that you plan to perform or learn to perform later. Pay attention to what sounds are being played. Write it down as best as you can describe it. Then go to your keyboard and try to make a combination based on the tune your are referencing. You can go back and forth between listening to the record and your custom created sound to get them as close as possible. Bonus tip: ask yourself if you were the musician that played on then record, what would you have done differently? Make those adjustment to have a version of the sound you would have played for the artist given the same opportunity to re-record the original record.

The most recent The Fantom and Fantom0 series allows simultaneous import of all 32 channels at one time (16 stereo pairs). Kronos 2 allows a single stereo pair. The Nord Electro 6, seems to only allow USB for USB-Midi (or to tether to the patch editing software) No digital audio tranfer for firmware version 1.20.

      2. Turn on eq 3. Adjust 3 bands of eq. The mindblowing thing is that this six can apply those different settings for each individual mapped drum on that given set. Practical example.
