Flying over the Ever Given in the Suez Canal | MSFS 2020 Addon
A video review of the addon for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 with the ship Ever Given, which is stuck in the Suez Canal in Egypt in 2021.

Brief information about the event:
On March 23, 2021, the container ship Ever Given ran aground in the Suez Canal, blocking the vital
waterway for six days. The incident was caused by a combination of factors, including high winds,
a sandstorm, and a technical issue with the ship's rudder.
The Ever Given is one of the largest container ships in the world, with a capacity of over 20,000 containers.
It was carrying cargo from Asia to Europe when it became wedged across the Suez Canal, blocking all
traffic in both directions. After six days of efforts, the Ever Given was finally freed on March 29, 2021. The ship was refloated after a
combination of dredging, tugboats, and high tides. The incident led to a number of changes, including a
widening of the Suez Canal and a review of safety procedures.

Updated Bing maps is crazy, the fact if I had no clue wtf MSFS was I would not be able to tell if its real life or not in a lot of the scnes in this video is wild.

What can I do if the game starts but I still have Bing maps?
really doesn't seem like much of an improvement to me.
Installing this caused a donelO crash. Still trying to figure out a work around or permanent fix.

The force feedback in fsx helped huge with trimming.
What is your Internet traffic band for Bing-maps?

IMO the default scenery looks better and more detailed. Thanks for this video in showing the difference between the default scenery and ARCGIS. Much appreciated 👍🏼
actually, for that kind of stuff, it's better to go where in MSFS it's bad, like Siberia, Bing Maps has horrible resolution where ArcGIS had very detailled textures. This video doesn't show that;-.
THey somehow made the roads look worse than Bing. That's impressive.
how do you get it to work
Personally I think ArcGIS the colors are too washed and bleached out. It may be more realistic depending on the area, but this would strain my eyes. This is where I prefer BING.
I had tried this addon and as I did appreciate the road textures the most, it messed up the 'Host.cfg' file that FS relies on for connection. Took me about 2 weeks trying to figure out why FS was hanging. Finally cleared out the contents of Host.cfg, and removed the addon. Back to flying and since then Bing has improved as well.

If you hit stop in de mod it will delete the entry’s in your host.cgf and everything works again.

same here its very very slightly diff on google but personally not enough to use the addon.
Sometimes one side looks better, but it's not consistent, they take turns looking better.

how do you get it to work, for me it kept loading scenery right infront of me only and that was bad
The deal breaker for me is the copyright google every few hundred yards. Total immersion killer on VR.

Yep, you are right I am flying and in the video I used the High LOD option.
This is a "must have" addon for MSFS. I do all my videos with this addon. Default maps are horrible (green roads).
msfs is a Microsoft product so makes sense they go with Bing maps
Which do you prefer? Bing Latest or Google? Here Google caused crashes.
I haven't crash with google, but i can't can fly longer than 100nm because google suddenly block my ip xP , and i already tried fly without high LOD.
What you don't show in your video about this FANTASTIC mod is the fact there is no more generic textures using this mod. The world is totally changed and Google Maps is not really the best one but arcGIS. This mod is giving us a totally different flight simulator and I hope it will continue for ever. It would be a very big downgrade loosing this. Thanks a lot to the creator of the most important mod ever.

I think if you fly low, Bing will be better, because the resolution of the map itself is better than ArcGIS, if you fly at high altitude, in some places ArcGIS may be better. The developers of the addon, so described ArcGIS: "ArcGIS Server provides more natural color than Google Server in some areas, but it lacks high-resolution data when flying low. Some areas have different satellite images in different resolutions, so you will see image changes when flying low." I myself play mostly Google Maps.
this bing latest?
In the video used addon Map enhancement version 7.3.4 video material was filmed on 13.10.2023. Most likely this is the latest version of the map in the Map enhancement addon at this point. As far as I understand, the addon draws the current map of Bing or other services by API.
