Thank you Stephen👍 Definitely a case for some bikes suiting riders more than others, look at Grattarola last year... nowhere on the Vertigo, back to Beta, podium 1st time out. Aniol Gelabert has won a Trial2 round on TRRS a couple of years ago, probably too early to tell if he will gel with it again. Hopefully he will, for both his and TRRS' sake.

Wow, thank you! I agree with you about Busto... his style is relaxed and when he's on it, he makes things look ridiculously easy. But... being so relaxed, he sometimes loses focus and that's what costs him. There's no doubting his talent. Marcelli is much more focused and comes across as more determined, ultimately, I think that will pay dividends for him.

@@trialstalk Marcelli is a beast no doubt and probably going to be the biggest competition to Busto when Bou hangs up the boots.He seems to need to work harder than Busto to achieve the results , but no doubt an elite rider at a young age. Maybe the next generation of trials riders will have a more mixed podium with such a good roster of upcoming talent. You forget how young these new kids are starting their professional career and the fact that the two top dogs in the paddock (until Ragas injury and bike change) have been headed toward 40 (Bou) and past 40 (Raga) at the top level of their career , Toni Bou is going nowhere for a long time and that means he's going to be still peaking at 40+ in his long onslaught of World Trials. And lets not forget , Raga is coming back from injury and getting used to a new Sherco ..So He's still a podium contender as soon as He's back to 100% Imagine how good Busto , Marcelli , Gelabert , Benoît and Toby ( and the next up and coming riders ) will be in 10 years time This can only mean good things for the future of Trials

You are right, the next 4-5 years are going to be very interesting, there will be an inevitable change of the guard at the top, it remains to be seen which of the next generation will be able to step up. It's easier to be the underdog, but when you have to deal with the endless pressure of expectation, that is a totally different ball game.

Busto doesn’t seem to ’want it’ enough like bou. When he 5s a section or makes a mistake he doesn’t seem bothered. I still think bou is head and shoulders above everyone else. Gabri is someone that I see more potential in because he seems more determined. I think when bou hangs his boots up it will be busto, gabri, toby, gelebert fighting at the top.

Yes Neil, thoroughly nice young lad... such a shame he can't finalise anything for next season. Fingers crossed he can get the backing he needs, can't help but think the ACU should be helping🤷‍♂️

@@trialstalk I totally agree about the ACU in my humble opinion they never do enough for our Trials riders male or female, we have world champions struggling this is wrong

@Nasphotography13 yes, and there are currently 6, either current or past champions, hoping to compete again in '24. There is no other ACU promoted sport with such a success rate.

DEFINITIONS Clean: A rider traversing a Section as defined above without penalty as described under FOOTING or FAILURE shall be unpenalised and given a "CLEAN". Footing: Footing will be considered to have occurred if any part of the rider's body or any part of the machine, (with the exception of the tyres or the sump shield touches the ground or the rider benefit from any part of their body, or any part of the machine, (with the exception of the tyres or the sump shield) leaning on an obstacle (tree, wall etc.) Footing outside the lateral limits of a Section does not constitute a failure but should simply be classed as footing. A machine does not stay within the intended limits of the section as defined by the Observer. f) f) If any wheel of the machine crosses any boundary tape or goes over or on the wrong side of a marker, whether the wheel be on the ground or airborne, before the front wheel spindle passes the "Section ends" sign. g) The rider is held responsible for displacing a marker or support in an observed section whereby the observer considers it necessary to reinstate the flag/marker prior to the passage of the next rider. The displacing of any marking not relating to the competitor's route will be considered to constitute a failure. h) Travelling in a forward direction against the direction of the Section. The motorcycle crosses its own track with either wheel. The machine or rider receives outside assistance. k) A rider or person having an interest in a rider's performance, who in any way alters the severity of a section without the authority of an official.
