My interest for coins and banknotes was inspired by my grandfather who collected stamps, pre-decimal coins, and banknotes with great endeavor. By the time I was born, he had already established an impressive collection that I found fascinating as I grew older.
Eventually, I wanted to continue my grandfather's coin legacy so my father brought me to my first coin fair in the year 2000. Which at a time was a few months prior to the Sydney Olympic games. I purchased my own coin-collecting folder/album that day and my very first uncirculated coin...I have been collecting ever since.
On this channel, I will mainly be reviewing coins & bank notes and sharing some historic knowledge in the reviews. I would also be more than happy to review coins & banknotes etc that my viewers request. So please do not hesitate to reach out as it would be a pleasure of mine to collaborate with my listeners.

Why is the 1930 Penny worth tens of thousands of dollars?

Why is the 1930 Penny worth tens of thousands of dollars?
Actually, the first "collectors" coin was the 1927 parliament house florin. The 2nd was the 1935/35 Melbourne centenary florin. The 3rd was the 1951 Federation jubilee florin and the 4th was the 1954 Royal visit florin. Then there are the predecimal proof coins sold to collectors as well as the RAM uncirculated packs sold to collectors in 1966 onwards. The 1970 Captain Cook 50c was also available to collectors as a slabbed coin. Same for the 1977 silver jubilee 50c. After that, in the $10 coin range, there was the 1982 Commonwealth Games sterling silver $10 collectors coin and then the State series of sterling silver $10 coins starting in 1985. Other collector coins issued before the 1988 parliament house $5 coin are the 22ct gold $200 face value coins, the first of which was issued in 1980 and remaining in production right up 1994, then intermittently after. There are more but those are the most notable collector coins issued by either the Melbourne mint(1966 and before), Perth Mint and the Royal Australian Mint.
The first polymer banknotes were issued into circulation in Haiti and Costa Rica from 1980 to 1984. They were withdrawn from circulation because they degraded in circulation faster than expected. Australia was definitely NOT the first country to issue polymer banknotes into circulation. Polymer banknotes were also produced but not issued into circulation for the Isle of Man, Venezuela, El Salvador and one other country but i don't recall which one. It might have been Guatemala.
Back in 2021 I brought the 2021 1 dollar coin for just $5 now it’s worth up to $79.50 w
I would recommend buying the 2021 $1 mob of Ross coin now as it could be worth up to $100000 one day
I have One 1977
2022 only around 10 000 minted if that maybe they will mint more but don't think so this could be the coin of the century could get to very high value but I could be wrong but this one don't think so
Good to know to pick these. Lucky to have quite a few of these beauties 2021 to collect also
Ive only seen chucky $1 in circulation to date
Hello Coiner, on the Royal Australia Mint website, the 2022 $1 MOR mintage is over 6million. Please tell me where to check your info ? Bit confused
Hello, 18 seconds into the video you should be able to see I'm getting my info from RAM also. The mintage number outlined in this video is in alignment with the date the video was released (roughly one year ago). In other words - when i released this video 1 year ago there was only 0.001 mintage of the coin according to RAM. Recently an annual report was released by RAM and the data confirmed there were more coins minted during the year totaling over 6 million like you said. Interesting thing is that the $1 coin from 2021 kept its low mintage of 0.16 (160k) so i was curious to see how the 2022 coin would end up and if trend continued.
6 coins *5 Last of the circulation coin design with the Queen . *Last IRB coat of arms 50c . *Last JC 1 dollar . *Last 5c of the echinda with the first effigy of the Queen *Last ten cent with the Queens effigy. *Last 20c with the Queens effigy. *All Queen coins have the dates of her reign. *First King 2 dollar . Making it the currently the lowest and only minted aboriginal elder/King 2 dollar coin . *only 100k maximum sets. More than enough reason for this coin set to be extremely high in demand . And if the King is already in troubled times with his health . Which could make these the only king charles the 3rd coins . Making it very very valuable.
i have two of them in cases
The EQL ballot system is Detritus, I have entered 5 EQL ballots and have missed out every single time, I Don't like how EQL wants access to your Bank Account details either, especially with so many Companies being Hacked
How many winners are there? I won one of them.
I hope the scum bags trying to make a fortune scalping them get stuck with them 😂 what’s to say the Australian mint isn’t going to release the exact $2 coin into circulation anyway in 6 months 😂 they can do what ever they want .
Don’t pay more on the secondary market for one , 100K is ridiculous but good everyone can get one
saya ada satu yg bagian kiper nya
I don’t think he will be on it long
It is different, it's worth less than it did last year
I’ve snagged 2 out of circulation, the person who paid $1600 for a loose unc one in the sold comp you showed must have been drunk 😂 you could get a 2021 mint set for a fraction of that . They are in the 2021 Aboriginal mint sets that don’t go for anymore than $90 . There is a mint set for $29 . It’s a no brainer it’s not hard 😂
i have never found or seen one in real life. I keep looking and hopeing
I like how you forget to say how the Australian mint stole the coloured coin printing technology from the Canadian mint and got sued for copyright infringement over the $2 red poppy . It’s part of the history of collecting Australian $2 coins .
First time on this channel however a fan of its sister channel. The 1930 penny as a investment is a interesting one the grade is the only draw back most of the existing coins seem to be of lesser grade and don’t appreciate like the coins of high-grade do as a percentage. . Over 20 to 25 years, I followed these coins and unfortunately the low grades, appreciate not more than 5% to 10%.. per year. Saying that 5 to 10% is still a good return compared to bank interest .
can you do the 10 shilling QE2 series as well, thanks AC00 AF19 AF20 AH65 AH69
i have it too
I have one where the colour has been stamped slightly off centre on a 2013 queen coronation?
The RAM annual report for 2022 to 2023 has just come out, which confirms only 160,000, 2021 $1 Mob of Roos. No further issues of this coin were made during the past 12 months. Prices on eBay have just jumped in price in the past few days.
New friend here 👏👍
Beautiful coin 👏👍
@coiner90, I need your help, I’ve got this coin and I want to sell for money, will the coins value get higher?
Nice coin.
was t dean a woman ?
Tony Dean is the full name. He is male
Cool cool 😎
This coin... not so much as it is still readily available in proof/unc sets with unlimited mintage figures. The 2023 Mob Of Roos though... might reach that mark when collectors realise it has a mintage of only 1,050 as it is *ONLY* available in the gold and fine silver proof sets that were released on September 7 this year.
Saya punya koin bermacam seluru dunia okeee bos ingin di jual
7 months on and they $10 on ebay 😂
wish i saw this a while ago, ive taken heaps back to the bank😢😢 ive got 4 now....if any1 wants to buy 1 im not selling 😂😂
Hi Coiner, I also brought one of these coins they are a nice design. cheers. Stephen.
No because they would soon get so scratched up they would only be worth $2 once the paint wore off
Very nice
They make good gifts to send to my friends in America, 2 million of each and everyone keeping them I can’t see them being very valuable but still they are cool coins and it helps bring new and young people into the hobby 👍
Soccer ball ⚽️ 😉👍🇦🇺 great coins 💥💯

Do you have any 2012 C-Mint 2 Dollar Cions For Sale Thanks
Love the 1988 👍. Hard to find 🤷.
I Still A Australian!
might want to clean finger up a bit or can use white cotton gloves. Keeps coins clean to. Nice presentation mate.
G'day Glenn, haven't made a comment for ages but I got lucky and scored the two coloured coins in my set. Ansolutely stoked. Still got a set but not gonna open that one. Good luck for the hunt everyone.👍😁 GOTIGERS. 🐅 edit: absolutely.
My great, great, great, etc... Grampa came on the first fleet to Australia in 1788 ☺️
Hi Coiner, sorry you didn't get the two coloured coins I'm still waiting for mine butt I won't open it as I did with the GACH series I'll sell them one day unopened for when my SUPER runs out and hope to get better than what paid for the LOT. keep up the GREAT work and look forward to your next noodle Buddy. cheers. Stephen.
That's how it goes...always next time i suppose :D Keeping the coin in unopened condition is an excellent backup plan for when and if the super runs out. Definitely a good self insurance plan :) I hope by then the sell price quadruples ! Thanks for the kind words I really appreciate your support Stephen
@@coiner90 My pleasure it's GREAT how you and the other Coin Noodlers have helped us all get through the couple years being stuck at home because of COVID which in some way has brought more collector's into a new hobbie, Many thanks to you and fellow TH-cam Noodling Family for all your support. all the best. Stephen.
I like the card it's in more than the actual coin 😅
haha good point. the card is so good !
The 1952-2022 is the queens time of being a queen. It is a memorial thing that they put on the coins. Its not just on the AFL coins. Look out for this on most 2023 coins 🙂
ahh true that! didn't realise at first..good pick up :)
