Brilliant trip report. I'm sorry to see that they plane was not only dated, which wouldn't be a big deal, but also quite dirty. The inflight service was good though

Is that your 1st time that the USB port on the plane is not working, broken and disappointed, did you tell the crew? They will tell the ground staff to fix the broken USB port, but I don't think it's resolved.

14:37, Same when I flew Jetstar, Boeing 787-8 from Sydney to Honolulu last August, for the 1st time, some USB ports are not working and didn't charge my tablet, so I ask my seatmate permission to use his or her USB port, which they approve and for the 1st time and I was disappointed. They need to improve, fixing USB port and telling the crew and ground staff and I don't think they do it. My suggestion is to write a email to the airline and tell them about fix the broken USB port because your disappointed. If they don't respond regrading not working USB port, never mind.

I just flew with HZ-AK38 from JED - IAD 2 days ago, the seats were amazing but sadly the footrests have been removed, this is being done to all their economy class seats. Nonetheless, they have one of the best Economy class products I have ever seen.
@@TheBudgetTraveller786 ahhh, didn’t Know they removed all the footrest ! And i Think it’s because it might be uncomfortable for tall people, maybe thats the reason why they took this decision ! Btw, thanks for watching my video
@@travelwithdean7225 That is true on airlines that offer less legroom. Saudia 777 seats consistently have amazing legroom so the footrests were not as intrusive. I feel they may have done it for easier maintenance and reduce the aircraft weight.
I flew this exact flight two years ago and I just came to see how it's doing now. It seems they haven't replaced the god awful interiors for this route, the IFE was broken on both flights and also dirty. Although it looks like they gave the 777 their new livery that just says "Saudia", mine had the old livery that said "Saudi Arabian" on it. The 777s they used for London-Riyadh and back are much better.

The only thing with Saudia I hate is the transit visa which is very confusing to get filed. Regardless of your nationality, lay over more than 12 hours needs transit visa. I flew with them twice from New York to Manila via Riyadh and Vice Versa.

No offense, but Air India is a disgrace to indian society. Honestly with Tata taking over Air India, I don't see changes in international travel. People keep saying it takes time but I feel like it is going to be the same after 10 years like in this state. Especially with Boeing having problems. How is it possible german carriers can maintain a very old A330-300 or A340-300 in good condition? I feel indians aren't capable of giving respect to materials and therfore we can clearly see how poer sockets and co. are destroyed in a relatively young B787-8. It just feel bad honestly. I think indian firms like Air India have to change their mindset if they want to make an impact and not buying new fleets.
It’s cuz air india was under the govt and they didn’t care. Air India ordered a bunch of new planes. We already see a change as their new a350 has arrived.
And there is now going to be premium economy
@@gplays1206 waiting since one year and still no changes from Air india. After merger I am seeing no changes in terms of maintanance and refurbishment. Especially from the newer leased planes. Biggest problem is Vistara which is having a negive impact with this merger.
@@gplays1206 Yeah but the prolem I am stating is its maintanace. The objective value doen't exist. Vistara was slightly better in it but still bad in comparaison with Lufthansa, Swiss , Singapore Airlines etc.
I agree that current planes are in bad shape, but repairs don’t happen overnight. And if airline grounds its all aircrafts for retrofitting, already loss making company will be a sinkhole of money. Air India has been leasing new planes, recently nought A350, retrofitting will start by this year end, then we can expect to see changes.
