Sorry I am a little confused here... you have a wool mat that you made a pillow slip cover for. You use your covered mat to press the material which your going to use for the new pillow slip cover for your granddaughter, correct? Yet once you have made the new cover on your granddaughters wool mat you dont want to put that mat on your cutting mat to press. Did i miss something in the making of the covers? Did you do something different when you made yours. ty
@@donnabrown1262 I had been told not to press on the wool mat over a cutting mat or it will warp the cutting mat. I had never had this experience, but others have😉 So for precaution, this bit of advice may help others as well🌹 I had used my ironing board when making mine, but I honestly don't have much room for it, so it is a bit of a pain😉 I do hope this helps explain it a bit better. Thank you for asking for clarification on that as I guess it is a bit confusing.🤷
I really like the block. Thank you for sharing. How well does this quilt launder? If it is for a baby, it is going to get washed multiple times.
They launder well as I made one for my grandson who has had it for five years now with no issues.😉 Thank you for your kind words and for viewing🌹

@@HamFam2 I do apologize as this was a video put out shortly after I started creating them. I can tell you that much of the things I ordered had a very short lifespan. There was one better fabric choice, and the wall tiles were good. The needles seem to break or lose sharpness rather quickly. The snips quit working a couple months in. I did update my opinions in another video later on. I apologize once again, and thank you so much for viewing and commenting your concern❣️🌹

Would you consider thinning the glue with a bit of water? Mix completely and spray on?
@@susanmorrison632 The gal I was watching has said she tried that, but it made the fabric pretty wet and longer drying time. I would think the spray bottle would have to be cleaned between doing the backing and the front as well to ensure the nozzle doesn't get too sticky from glue? I may have to go out on a limb and try that though🤔 Always looking for ways to improve, we are😂🤣 Thank you for viewing and great tip to think on😉
I have been using this basting method and it works well for me. I have a squeezable bottle with a long narrow tip, which gives me a steady thin flow of glue. I don’t wait for the glue to dry, once I’ve basted my entire quilt I run my iron (cotton setting) over the entire quilt using my ironing board and then take it to my sewing machine and quilt. I have not used this process on anything larger than a twin sized quilt, but can’t imagine it wouldn’t work any differently due to size of quilt. Two years using glue and love it.

Very brave sewing on a binding without a walking foot!!
@@Amritadivya Thank you for viewing❣️ I don't think I have used a regular foot for binding before? Please do let me know if and why this should not be done. I am always looking for new tips😉
@@SewGrannySew A walking foot keeps all layers of the quilt moving together at the same time. Typically the layer closest to the feed dogs goes slower than the top layer which I find helpful with putting in sleeves, but can contribute to tucks and pleats on the underneath layer for quilts. But, you seemed to have no problems, so bravo to you!
I guess we will have to chalk this one up as how we learned lol. I never thought of the puckering on the binding, but have encountered it when doing stitch in the ditch mid quilt. Thank you for your explanation, I truly think we grow by helping one another. ❣️🌹🥰
