So, at the same time this award was given and this video was being made, he was a pedophile engaged in a year-long sexual relationship with one of the children in his class? The victim may even be in this video. And this was the "Teacher of the year"???? No wonder so many parents are pulling their kids from public schools.

Former Minnesota Teacher of the Year charged with rape of 14-year-old student The charging document states that a parent came forward to police in May of this year and alleged that in 2017, her then 14-year-old daughter was sexually assaulted by Wright. Abdul Jameel Wright was named Minnesota Teacher of the Year in 2016. That same year, he allegedly began a sexual relationship with a then 14-year-old student that lasted nearly a year; Wright was 30 at the time. According to a summons filed in Hennepin County District Court late last week, Wright, who is also known as “AB,” has been charged with one felony count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a minor age 13 to 15 while in a position of authority. The allegations against Wright, now 38, surfaced earlier this spring in a public social media post by a woman who accused Wright of “taking a little girls (sic) innocence.”

This video admits up front that if given the choice, people would leave unions. Why should unions have a right to forcibly take people's money who would not voluntarily pay for their "services" in the name of what's best for them? Should we have money taken out of our checks forcibly to buy vitamins because they are good for us? Maybe people are happy to get a smaller paycheck so they don't have to deal with unions.

What a load of propaganda. Anyone actually believe that teacher's unions are good? Do you have children? Only a leftist parent would think that this is doing their child/children. This borders on child abuse!

Today’s Unionized teachers agenda is children LAST. Your political bone about your own ideas of social justice are misplaced. That is why they were there, dearie. They weren’t commies. You need to think of yourself LESS!

Appreciate the video, helpful, yet the tiered system has faults and needs revision. One may put hundred hours in a portfolio, check all the boxes to find out it's a funnel to send teachers back to Minnesota schools. Some issues are; vague definitions, tier 2 -job applications don't fit unlicensed ed's and then it's who ya know - questions asked can only be answered by a Minnesota trained educator -Result? Go back to teacher college. This was not the goal of the new system.

John Hattie has for the last 15 years attacked teacher's requests for lower class sizes based on his 'evidence'. It is important for teachers to know a little about this so called 'evidence' to ensure Hattie's meme - 'class size does not matter' does not get spread unchallenged. A review of Hattie's evidence is here - visablelearning.blogspot.com/p/class-size.html

"As a teacher," as you say let me ask you why most Ontarian's don't know the difference between bring and take. Even media personnel say, quote; "the victims were 'brought' to the hospital." Damn, They should have learned the difference in fourth grade. Also they don't get your and you're right. All Ontario teachers need to worry more about teaching English than they do about class size.

public jobs don’t need unions. the job is steady and unlike a union for a private job there is no limit for what the workers can ask for. Private school vouchers should be issued so the bad schools fail and the good effective schools rise.
