This animation has been created by the Doorway Women's group and is a response to learning about the topic alongside staff from the Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre and Chippenham Museum.
We looked at the role that women have played in health and wellbeing from the 1400s to the 20th century, the particular skills and knowledge this would have taken, and the challenges women faced when undertaking this important work.
