I like to call this Sibelius Symphony No 8. It's not of course. But ---------------------------
It's all a tremendously satisfying journey when I enter a Sebelious piece I've never heard.💖
Austria gave us Mozart, Germany Wagner and Finland is magistrally represented by SIBELIUS! Unique composer!
Jeg har genopdaget Sibelius. Er vokset op med hans musik.
The third movement though...

I'm impressed with this great performance.Sibelius is one of my favorite composer💙💙💙
mine too
@@daydays12and mine! En Saga is one of my favourite!
@@elephantsdontforget Good to hear that 🙂 Greetings to you from a Brit living in France, where Sibelius is not so popular!
I live in the American south South Carolina specifically and am just now discovering this most wonderful, mesmerizing composer. TH-cam with a few dollars to banish advertisements is presenting me with such amazing music, composers, performers, and conductors. Right now it's Sibelius all the time for me. It has been so nice to read comments from music lovers around the world.
not more than his 4th symphony
Sibelius's music caresses me without punching me in the face. What a beautiful imagination to reach out.
Do you often otherwise get punched in the face while being caressed?
Ace, I heard some music on Swedish cop show a few weeks ago, knew I knew it, but could not place it, it's been so long. I was pretty sure it was Sibelius though so have been listening to various pieces off and on and here it is here The Swan of Tuonela.I am a happy, if tearful, girl now. I used to play this stuff all the time, but that stopped when I got married, my wife could not stand that 'old squit' as she put it. Country and western, not my thing at all but I had to put up with it. But she's been my ex now a good few years and I can do more or less as I like.
Ich liebe Jean Sibelius.
What is the painting for the Swan of Tuenola? It is superb.
"The Swan of Tuonella" uses four images, how many are you referring to? The first, second, and fourth images can be easily identified with an image search, but the third image was created by myself by processing multiple images, so no other identical image exists. Thanks.
@@pacific2319 Thanks for the wonderful work, souls like yours make mankind proud, don't give up"
Where my Murakami fans at?
Probablement la meilleure version à ce jour. ❤
It seems I am wandering in a mystic labyrinth of Finland
Ganz einmalig : Ingrid Haebler weiß, was Mozart wollte... Sommer 2023 !
Sibelius’s music is so haunting. Has a shimmering, completely northern style.
Good sound quality
His patriotism is the stronghold of my soul
I would not say this is the clearest example of it, but the national romantics didn't shy away from patriotism. Sibelius also composed some pieces of famous and now traditional military music where this is more explicit and admitted by him literally. Jaeger march, for example, which was composed by him to the words of a Finnish jaeger in Germany, in preparation for fighting for Finnish independence, was inspired according to him while he was gripped by tremendous spirit of patriotism. This goes a long way from modern spirit, which disregards the fate of the country, let alone the people. Serious times produced serious personalities. Life or death themes were experienced personally by the generations of the past.
@@herptek Thankyou your wonderful comment From A corner o Tokyo ⛩️🎎🎴🎑🎏🗼
Suomenkielisiä kommentteja ei näissä juurikaan näy.Tuonelan joutsen on ihmeellinen, jotenkin vapauttavan lohdullinen ja raukea yksinäisyydessään.Yksi ehdottomista lempi jutuista
Maybe it’s because your wonderful language is so difficult for the rest of us! And long may it continue…sorry l only know one word in Finnish-pupu l think, meaning rabbit…
Hyvää Sibeliuksen päivää!
This music embodys the spull of Finland: its lakes, its trees, its solitude, to be among nature and its uncertainties
Most mystical work by any major composer. Spellbinding.
💖Gyönyörű..."igy csak Mister Bartók..." köszönet érte.

with all the recenct "ugliness" regarding england today isn,t it an absolute marvel to wonder through an untouched part of it as if we were still growing up in this wonderful and green land that we cherish and love, this wonderful music not only takes me back to my childhood in wales where may I add had similar landscapes to these ,depicted in these lovely works of art all, a "marvel of nature" perfection and love , are the things depicted here ,taking me ,for one , back to a "childhood "of "freedom" family, and togetherness not always witnessed today,? I am from the "great Dylan Thomas,s country ," and appriciate this music emmensely, I thank you, did we really have the best of all this when we were born in the 1950,s? I for one are truly "grateful " for the journey,...
It really is nice that things like this exist to take you back.

So deeply English and moving. The very fields and forests exude his music.
Absolutely gorgeous!
Magnifique ! Toujours agréable à réentendre.
Thanks. Again.

This promotes spiritual uplift and awakening, and activates the soul
WUNDERBAR!
How I adore the first movement of this exceptional work. Sibelius at his finest which means of course music doesn’t get any better than this. Paavo Jarvi is a great Sibelius conductor without doubt and the playing of the Stockholm Philharmonic is magnificent. However I’ve yet to hear a performance that can surpass or quite match that of Ormandy/Philadelphia Orch from the late 1970’s.

I'm listening to this before bedtime, so relaxing, so chilled out this piece of music. Described as quintessentially English music, Ralph Vaughn Williams, you were a star! I have some of your pieces of music. Soooooo lovely!

I deeply love this symphony Whenever I listen to this symphony, my soul will be warm,
Sublime, thanks🌼🧡🌼

film "composers" are always ripping off romantic composers ...the music for "the Lord of the Rings" trilogy of films was ripped off from Sibelius too.
This is my all-time favourite piece from Delius and I do like the serenade so much and great performance from Robert Tear with Sir John Barbirolli conducting the Halle Orchestra and definitely a great Delius showpiece for me.
