Awesome to see. I fish that spot very often and I think we might have talked to each others. I am the guy with the red Bass Tracker and the Evinrude motor. Very good video.
Where in CT, if you don’t me asking
@@dudeeverything4218 Same lake as last year’s crappie video, Quaddick Reservoir. Great bass lake too
What Lake?
@@ericsplayland West Hill Pond, known for trout and Kokanee salmon but it’s a sleeper bass lake and has some huge pickerel
@@measureupangling8703 thank you for the reply!
I was reading that the connecticut river was the largest salmon run river in the world
@@pauldalia2451 I wish. The restoration program that went on for years on the CT River has been ended for a number of reasons. The stocking program still gives us the opportunity to catch these amazing fish
I was born an raised in connecticut love it, but now living in charleston sc doing the salt thing , I grow up fly fishing
Hi love the ct striper videos not enough of them on TH-cam I’m a big largemouth guy in Hartford area looking to get into the river striper. What’s the best time of year to target them?
@@foxbowling9645 Spring, April to June and Fall, October. There’s more fish in the spring but the fall is worth doing. A lot more fish at the mouth of the river in fall than miles up river. Hope to put out a fall video this year if things work out. Good luck and stay safe out there
Great video great catches !
That's cool To bad you didn't mention the lures
Awesome
That tourney last year, probably got 50 crappie. Should've kept some for dinner
Nice pickerel. The world record could be in there for all we know.
Are you handling boat position by just using your transom mount trolling motor? Seems like you run it consistantly.
Yes, I’m on it a lot in wind and current. I can’t beat the current so I control drift speed and direction. Trying to hold position for any length of time just burns down my batteries
Thought I may have seen your boat drifting the CT River yesterday
Sorry about replying so late. Got to get better about this. So little time with a lot on my plate. Could have been, working on a smallmouth video. The fishing was incredible. I’m excited about the content. Just have to get time to edit. Thanks so much for watching
Awesome video, love the commentary and all the sweet shots of the fish
Where they fishing
I doubt that trout survived. You have it on camera, are the pictures necessary? I'm not there so i hope it wasn't as intrusive as it looked. Great catch regardless.
I just want you to know that you one of my most favorite TH-cam fishing channels. I've learned a lot from you and would love to go fishing with you someday. And you seem like a pretty cool guy 👍
By the way, I don't mean to kiss your ass too much, it's just rare for me to come across an angler as versatile as you.
It's a walleye. Good to see the spots I'm familiar with. 14:10
Congamond lake is such a tough lake.
Dusty lock your depth. The auto change is driving me nuts
If there was ever a video that didn't need to be made. We've had that bite to ourselves for a while.

Same technique but in winter.
I used to live on the lake close to that hole you were fishing
Nice video, please go into detail about bowfin fishing. Me and my friends target bowfin and I would love to know how you do it.
i love watching a video of peoole fishing this lake lotta childhood memories there many of my first catches were made there
My favorite brook trout spot. I do really well on the ice here
nice video I wish I had a boat to access the ct river properly.
Best CT fishing channel honestly
no funny business
Thanks a lot, I appreciate that. Thanks for watching
Where do you like to launch your boat from on the River? I'm in northern CT and looking for spots to put my boat in. Thanks!
There’s a private ramp on the Windsor Locks/Windsor line off Rt159. The owner lets the general public use it. It’s very shallow in summer but forgiving in spring. There’s a ramp on the Farmington River off 159 that you can access the Ct from and further down is the 291 bridge ramp. Be careful running the north Ct stretch. Lots of things to hit. Hope this helps.
Enjoy your Striper videos every year and information you give out. I have seen you out on the river. I’m in the inboard jet fishing in same area.
Enjoyed the video! subbed 👍
Just found your channel great job on the water
like that large small mouth. I"m knew to vermont living in Brattleboro and watching shows like yours ,giving me an idea of what's out there. to that big fish i think it might have been a stripper or walleye. my best guess.
Awesome
Awesome video let's hook up n fish Westfield mass here
Where u get the chunk bait ??? 🤔 I am in the area and started to try gor cats
Sweet
What area is this ?
Love it ❤
From what I know it’s been about 10 years since anybody has caught a wild running salmon in ct.
Connecticut here!

Joe here's one Roxy got after ice out on congamond.
Thanks for this video very informative. Makes me want to target them from my kayak but it might not be mobile enough for that. I have hope that sometime within the next 50 or so years gene modification technology will get advanced enough to make salmon that can survive todays conditions, maybe one day the massive salmon runs will return to the connecicut.
Here in new Brunswick canada for our land locks and we seem to have the best luck trolling streamers give those a whirl next time especially if they're in shallow water still
This is a fire video! 🔥
Still amazing after all these years. Lookin' good, Joe
Great video and great fish! I just subscribed….I started my own TH-cam fishing channel a couple of months ago and I really enjoyed your video. Keep up the good work!
Do you still guide or.could you recommend one looking to learn.more about the conecticut river striper smal mouth walleye perch trout even gills my wife and I just moved back to NH both retired have boat will travel thank you enjoyed a few of your shows
Great video man! I fish the CT river in east haddam area once in a while. Still hoping to hook a big channel out of there. My best so far is only 8lbs. Looks like you have the river figured out though!
im on the higganum side of the river. 2023 mission is to get into a big one myself, mabey ill see you out there
We'll be around for sure, setting up a little alum. Boat for the river. Always looking for more fishing buddies
It’s hard to get a big one in the Connecticut river…usually there between 4-12 pounds. Try to find a big lake that has channels and you could get one 20-30lbs
awesome!!
Gonna need a clean & cook video to go with this.
Nice video, I hear that that the pike fishery in that lake suffers from people keeping the big ones during the ice season. Bet the perch were great though
