6 years later and this video still helping people. Ik it helped me
I have the same issue, i will try this solution and I'll be back to confirm if it worked
Lmk if it works got same issue
I've spent months scouring the internet for info on what the hell is going on with my car and this helped me 3 local mechanics said all the coolant doesn't flow through the heater core to the other side of the engine that there was a second route and this proves My suspicion thanks
I purchased & now have a 07 Pontiac G5 with the ecotec 2.2 vin-F & it stays cool SO FAR ANYWAYS BUT, IT WAS WINTER TIME but, I have never seen the fan run period! It cycles between 183 & 195 mostly but, when sitting still on a warm day idling, I've seen 210-211° & yet, the fan has NEVER TURNED ON PERIOD! IN the underhood fuse box, there is 3 spots for the cooling fan! (There is cool fan 1 & 2 which each use a 5510-0329 relay, and there is the 3rd spot marked, "cool fan") which is a 5 pin relay but, there is no relay in the socket!!!!) Can anyone please tell me what relay i need? From the bottom of the fuse box, in the middle row, its the second relay up FROM THE BOTTOM, MIDDLE ROW. cool fan 1 & 2 both use a four pin relay marked 5510-0329, but what goes in the 5 pin socket marked-"cool fan"????????????
Thanks, 08 Cobalt with overheating issues. Dropped coolant and new thermostat still gets about 220 degrees. Will flush out heater core and change coolant sensor. 👍
Did it work
Yep
Im going to try this as well just did the thermostat an still over heating
I have a 07 Pontiac G5 & I have never seen my fan run period! I know how to make the fan run but, when I open my u underhood fuse box, the very bottom of the fuse box, the middle relay, go up to the second spot up but stay in The middle row. I have a empty spot that is marked "cool fan" but its empty & i don't know what relay to install? Please go to the bottom row of relays of the underhood fuse box & look at the middle relay, then go up to the next spot & i have a empty socket.....can u please tell me what relay is in your fuse box? What are the numbers on the relay?
I have a 07 Pontiac G5 & I have Never seen the fans operate on their own period. So, I've done some testing! In my underhood fuse box, there is cool fan 1 & 2, plus a spot marked "cool fan" but, THERE IS NO RELAY IN THAT SPOT! IF U GO TO THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE FUSE BOX, LOOM AT THE MIDDLE RELAY, THEN GO UP 1 SPOT. THAT SPOT IS EMPTY IN MY FUSE BOX, ITS A 5 PIN ,& WHEN I GROUND THE TOP LEFT PIN IN THAT "COOL FAN" SOCKET, THE FAN COMES ON SO, I RAN A WIRE FROM THAT PIN, INTO THE CAR & TO A TOGGLE SWITCH THEN I CONTINUE THE CIRCUIT TO A GROUND......CAUSING THE FAN TO RUN. CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT RELAY GOES IN THE COOL FAN SOCKET???
Looks like a good mouse dog. Lol
