@@WWeiss-nv5vz Hi ! The limiter does not need to be turned on to hear the metal sound everything below 40hz at 105-108 db (white noise) it does. the 2 sub1s do exactly the same thing. The sub2 , subpro16 and f1 sub dont have this at limite The pro16 has more treble because the pro32 has more midrange and probably the final result is different. With the measurement microphone and the software, the pro16 has more high frequency than the pro32 rendered at 14-18khz you need to have both a/b to understand, they do not have the same tone

@@DavidB_AudioTech So a single Sub2 is the way to go if 2x Sub1's will bottom out at 105dB+ Pro32 has a rolled off high end and a beautiful midrange as you point out. I found even pairing a Bose S1Pro Plus adds high end clarity to the Pro32!

@@WWeiss-nv5vz only for deep bass.. probably a bug with the internal limiter or other.. but I prefer to carry 2x sub1 than the sub2 which carries poorly.. in stack it gives a little more overall rendering than sub2... but otherwise I prefer to use the subpro16 with the pro32.. it's really the best compromise weight power rendered

@@DavidB_AudioTech because it's designed to work with the F1 top which is an 12" full-range speaker which can handle more upper bass than columns speakers.

@@sonny9546 Sub1 and sub2 have the same switch crossover for standard speaker but my test is only for L1 serie vs the spec of Bose

For Bose , Sub F1 is good but not working well with L1 serie because the crossover is to low , Sub2 is great but only one handle... For people like me who are not very tall, 5.4 - 5.6 feet, it is still difficult to transport because of height.. I prefer to carry 2 Sub1s for a slightly better but less precise result

Hi ! actually there are no big differences between the sub2 and the subpro16. however, the sub2 will play louder if it is not in L1 Mode but it will play up to 100hz therefore not functional with the pro32 the big drawback of the sub2 is the handles vs the height of the sub2 for people like me it is 5.4 feet tall.. it carries really badly compared to my old F1 sub

But Two Sub2 in stack is louder than two pro16 sub but two pro16sub is louder than 1 sub2

@LowVybezEnvoy1 have you tried in stack mode in the center between your two pro16s? in stack it should have a good +4, 6db I agree with you, I expected more from the Sub2 compared to the specifications mentioned on the Bose website. Especially since on the Bose website it says that the subPro16 is equivalent to the sub1 but that is completely false.. and it doesn't do well unless you're over 6 feet tall I think.

@DavidB_AudioTech I didn't try the stack mode but I placed them side by side standing up in between the two pro16 didn't help much outdoors. Indoors they sounded good. I'm thinking of going with a pair of rcf 905mk3 for the extra low end now

Yes you can try however the electric tape will collect a lot of dust/seed offset and will tend to lift, you will have to install 3-4 thicknesses to get the right mm

Luckily I don't have the Pro8 or Pro16. I have the Pro32 with no issues. Anyway Bose should hire you for their design team!@@DavidB_AudioTech

@@WWeiss-nv5vz Haha thanks :) I'm also look for a pro32 but $$$ , it seems to me that it also has some wobble according to several people and some videos. They all have this design "problem". with another adapter it would be even more rigid and the central section also according to some is not well adjusted enough

My Pro32, at least, zero wobble! Bottom column seats into the base unit a good 3-4 inches. This is the difference from the Pro8/16. Middle column so tight, actually hard to pull apart. Of course nothing is as robust as the previous L1M2!@@DavidB_AudioTech
