Ngl this explanation is done so half assed and doesnt do any justice to the story at all "hes the monkey king because he found the cave behind the waterfall" liie wtf lmao, a video like this should be like 45 minutes if yer talking about the story snd why it deserves the award , but instead its just a quick half assed non scripted recap , Learn how to write scripts snd explain shit better im leaving to watch someone elses video 😅
Appreciate your feedback, you are not wrong about me over-simplifying things in this video, but my intention was to appeal to those who has zero/little knowledge of Journey to the West and sometimes that means I need to leave only the most important part, otherwise the video becomes too long to finish.
Being an American viewer the artistry on display especially visually really helped me grasp alot of the story concepts without needing to know a lick of Mandarin. I had a toe into Chinese mythology so I knew of the depth and background of some of the characters but BMWukong really got me into picking up journey to the west FR and not just reading the first couple chapters. Everything about the Bull is beyond compelling and despite the grand nature of all the stories the characters are very well realized and you really get to understand how they got to the position they're in. Also Shakespearean or old English equivalent of Chinese has a very satisfying sentence structure to listen to.
