This may help some, but after some research I found the D12 has 4 different circuit boards! There was a chip shortage and some boards were taken from the AE86 production line as the D12 grew in popularity. They are all control compatible but some have more lighting plugs.

Hi, friend. I would like to make you a query. My son has the exact same truck as you. But he has a problem that maybe you at least know where to start with a possible solution. The truck starts, the engine runs, and so does the remote control. But when you accelerate the wheels start to spin and suddenly, the truck and the lights go off. The control is still active. After a few seconds the light and the truck come on again and I accelerate again and it does the same thing again. Do you have any idea what it could be?

Is the steering proportional? You always go to full lock on the controller so it's hard to tell if it's proportional.
