Anthem Fixes (Untimely and Outdated): LeapFrog Music
Here's a complete list of all anthems that were either untimely for the Quantum Pad's time, or have since been replaced by their respective countries, all composed by me using the Leap-Font. I intended to use the same instruments that LeapFrog used on the old anthems to play the new ones, though some I felt were better with my own choices of instruments. A few notes are as follows:
Note 1: Though World Geography has no copyright date, one can determine the date it was released from the flags found within it--sometime between East Timor's independence on the 20th of May, 2002, and Georgia's flag change on the 14th of January 2004, as per the Wikipedia list of flag changes. It might have also been the case that, since East Timor did not have its anthem on the book, the book was developed before East Timor received independence from Indonesia, and the developers were aware that this would happen in their near future but could not assess what anthem they would use. This scenario would make Bahrain's flag change to have less serrations on the 14th of February, 2002, the earliest date the book's release could have happened on. Either way, the book was released sometime between early/mid 2002 and early 2004.
Note 2: "Untimely No. 7," Serbia & Montenegro, was NOT the wrong anthem for its time, as I had stated in the original video, but I rather had the timeline of the country wrong. When the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (consisting of only Serbia and Montenegro) was established in 1992 following the events of the Yugoslav wars, the United Nations had not accepted its name of "Yugoslavia," as it had felt that no one of the five nations that resulted from the conflicts were the true successor state to Yugoslavia; this also explains the italic script and the ambiguous name of "the Republics of Serbia and Montenegro" the country was labeled with on the Explorer Globes. It wouldn't be until 2004, the date I had stated the country dissolved, where the country formally accepted the name "Serbia & Montenegro" for itself. The country wouldn't truly break apart until 2006, meaning that the anthem of "Hey, Slavs" and the country's inclusion in World Geography were not untimely. My mistake.
Note 3: Mauritania's change of anthem in 2017 had completely went under my radar when I first released "Anthems of Africa (PART 1)."
Note 4: I have included Western Sahara and Palestine, two states with limited recognition, in this list, simply because they were both either given their borders or other information on the LeapFrog products but were never given any anthems. Also of interest, on the more-recently released Magic Adventures globe, Palestine is fully labeled.
Note 5: Somalia had changed its anthem again since the release of the Quantum Pad book; both the fixed and current anthem are accounted for.
Note 6: Afghanistan had changed its anthem as well between then and now, but, taking into account both the lack of international recognition of the Taliban and the fact that its anthem under the Taliban is prohibited from anything other than a vocal acapella performance, it is omitted in the video. Only the one adopted by the Northern Alliance in 1992, as well as the Islamic Republic's adopted anthem in 2006, have been remade. Also of interest, LeapFrog did not recognize the Taliban when Geography: The Seven Continents was released between 1998-2001, and followed the international community's consensus by recognizing the Northern Alliance as the true government, using their horizontal tricolor flag of green, white, and black with a gold charge.
Note 7: I apologize for the snarky and unfounded jokes I had made during my uploads of the anthems back then, especially with how I utilized all-caps. I expected the developers to be able to amass all current anthems of all then-192 countries even when I couldn't get all of the information correct on my own videos. I am now aware of the peak irony that exudes.
Anthems/national songs of territories/U.S. states/other polities or custom musics next? The samples may still need some work in due time, especially that of the woodwind instruments.

My U.S. State Flag Collection!
มุมมอง 1.7K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Here are 12x18 inch flags of all U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and unincorporated territories. This video also serves as a test for multiple instruments of the Leap-Font, including brass, woodwind, chromatics, guitars, basses, and percussion; I believe the samples still need some tinkering, as loop clicking still occurs before equalizing.
Leap-Font: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - March of the Priests (The Magic Flute)

Another test of the Leap-Font on another favorite piece of mine. Production of these videos has unfortunately been stunted due to my desire for a full, comprehensive list of all samples/instruments used for the LeapPad/Quantum Pad, as well as converting them to the highest quality possible. Credit for MIDI to Fred Nachbaur, W. Icking Archive.

It has recently come to my attention that a decent compilation of the LeapPad's soundfont has been released, and it is compatible with other software. I decided to test it out definitely better than my attempt at this tune five years ago. With the results turning out well, I hope to create custom country music and anthems in the future! A huge thank you to iDog Hacker, Starlight Guardian Stepha...
My World Mini Flag Collection!
มุมมอง 76K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Here's a short snippet of my new mini flag collection flowing in the breeze. All 196 countries in alphabetical order. Pretty, isn't it? Since I always wanted a full flag collection like this, yet didn't exactly want to spend more than five dollars per flag, I had instead bought a 200-flag-long bunting set, cut it up, and put each individual flag on a stick. Just as good, and a LOT cheaper. Howe...
U.S. Presidents & History + "Guess Who?": LeapFrog Music
มุมมอง 7K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Getting back on track with the sampler music uploads, here is the background music for the "U.S. Presidents & History" page found in the two Quantum Pad samplers, plus the background music for the "Guess Who?" gameburst. I would have also ripped the music for the "Be President!" gameburst, but there'd be no way of doing that without the man's loud mouth constantly interrupting.
LeapFrog Explorer Globe (White): Eureka - Free For All (2018, READ DESCRIPTION)
มุมมอง 7K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Well, here's something I didn't expect to find when searching through my backlog of videos for Super Brett Smith (the main channel). What you see here are long-lost recordings of me playing Free For All Eureka on the White Explorer Globe. According to the date, they were recorded only a month after this channel was created and the first country music, Afghanistan, was uploaded in September of 2...

Four months later, here's the second part of my Intelliglobe showcase. Anyone asking for anything else, including a showcase for the Quantum Pad books? Just let me know.
The Digestive System/The Skeletal System (sampler versions): LeapFrog Music
มุมมอง 6K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Continuing with the Samplers, here is the Digestive System and Skeletal System background musics. The Skeletal System page appeared on both "A Sampler from the Quantum Pad Library" and the Quantum LeapPad exclusive "A Collection from the Quantum Pad Library," which didn't have a cartridge.
Our Solar System (two versions): LeapFrog Music
มุมมอง 9K4 ปีที่แล้ว
As suggested by a commenter long ago, I will now upload the background music for each page on the Quantum Pad Samplers. I decided to begin with "Our Solar System," because, as was also the case with both Geography and Anatomy, Astronomy has always been one of my favorite subjects thanks in part to these very pages. 1. A Sampler from the Quantum Pad Library 2. A Collection from the Quantum Pad L...
LeapFrog's Violin in HQ: Anthem of the Mushroom Kingdom (READ DESCRIPTION)
มุมมอง 4K4 ปีที่แล้ว
When listening through Solmire.com's various MIDI-to-MP3 conversion soundfonts for remixes on my main channel, I noticed that the soundfont named "Merlin Vienna 3" has a very familiar-sounding violin sample. In fact, I believe it to be the same violin that the LeapFrog systems used way back when without the compression the limited hardware necessitated. Knowing this, I decided to post this vide...
