😂 that got out of hand quick lol
Great simple, explanatory video. Well done.
Congratulations Madman!! Nice buck. Great conversation too. I am struggling this year and hearing you guys helps me out. Thanks!! I will get in killer's corner soon!
I'm guilty of chasing two really nice bucks this year myself. Hunting became not so fun on my week vacation. I was waking up late, sore and tired from walking out uphill over a mountain almost 2 miles after sitting for hours. The last two days of my vacation I went to my very best rut area and ended up seeing 8 bucks! There was chasing and cruising and crashing in the brush all around me. It sure beat seeing zero deer for days. That's what I'm there for, being in the action. Those 140s and 150s can wait until another day. Watching a couple 120 inch bucks chase a doe past my stand 50 yards away snorting and grunting with their mouth hanging open made my season. Watching a half rack blowing up the brush 25 yards away chasing a doe was absolutely great. Watching a 110" 8 point cruise past just tickled me to death. I didn't even care that I didn't get a shot. I nicknamed a little half rack fork horn "forky" and watched him just trying to figure out what the heck was going on for hours as he zombie walked through the laurel as close as 10 yards. I enjoyed just being out in it all! I like shooting big bucks, but I'm just a deer hunter at heart. The very best part of my season this year was taking my wife out on our tenth anniversary and watching her kill her first deer. She was so happy with that doe. It scored higher than any giant in my heart. I'll never forget it! Thanks for the podcast!
Bought the J hook fixed hanger and it blocks the quiver connection point on my mathews creed xs 🙄
poor litte thing
Just caught my first Striper. This video is the best and clearest. Thank you!
@@erichhudson2090 congratulations appreciate you tuning in tight lines
The tapered screw for the sight makes my sight is 100% stable with no wobble. When I use the j hook, outside of my sight, 2 issues happen. 1) the flat head tapered bolt provided are too short to safely and properly torque tight, and 2) the hook is secure, but without the tapered part of the bolt directly against the tight, my bow sight can slide around a little. What’s the fix?
You completely failed. What about the cheek meat and collars, rib meat! Check out the fishmonger please. You'll learn a lot from that
Good luck this weekend guys!
@@kend.3559 you too!
Great job on both the filleting and the tip about the saltwater rinse, I didnt know this.
Vestibular trauma for sure.
Black ledge falls always feels like I'm being watched there. Other parks I don't get that feeling.
Thanks again! 👍
I kick myself in the ass I was going to order one for my first saddle but I ordered a timber ninja single panel and I’m not a fan, still going to order one of these tho
@@jakegilly6438 the new maverick or lonestar is a killer new comfortable saddle check out our video and make sure to use our promo code Outdoordrive to save money!

Good luck this season! I will be out on private this Sunday too! Public opens on Monday.

That’s a good photo 😊
Another great episode, guys!

LOL! East Coast Bow Hunting was one of my first hunting podcasts! Stay slay'in!
best video on how to do the sight tapes, the others are awful
Hello, I have a question. When you set your setup tape to 0 but you are already at 20 yards to get to 60 yards when you shoot at 40 yards you only have to turn at 20 yards on the setup tape because you already have 20 at the start??? and when you get to 60 yards if the setup tape gives me 27 I have to add so another 20 yards would be the number 47 or 27 I'm confused?
@@thehunter4685 so 20 yards is you O so when you get to 27 tape at 60 that is your tape
@@TheOutdoorDrive so 27 it’s my number I don’t have to add the 20 yards ? Just cut te tape with the 27 number ?
@@thehunter4685 yes!
@@TheOutdoorDrive thanks for your help I appreciate that 🙏🏻
Troy saying mechanicals cut the ke of your arrow by the number the broadhead company prescribes is either so ignorant it’s criminal or he’s just a liar. The broadhead company suggests you have that much ke for their head to work at 100% efficiency. They’re not saying that’s what it costa at impact. If that were the case you’d never make it thru an animal with a 50lb bow with rages and we see it time and time again working.
To be fair some energy is lost with the deployment of a mechanical head… because to move something energy is used. I just don’t think it’s the numbers the companies put on the package I think that number is more of a minimum optimal performance number.
Filleted hundreds of these as a kid, this is the best video I have ever seen
@@anthonydecesare2054 thanks for tuning in!
T Totally awesome!!
RF is correct about if you use a low poundage bow you need weight. Not just front loaded either, need a bit heavier gpi for penetration. Ive tested this with single cam bows and the best arrow i found for low ibo bows is an axis 300. I tried my Victory RIP XV elk setup with a 200g broadhead and it doesnt work as well as the same broadhead on an axis 300. Theres so much to this and it varies from person to person from setup to setup. Its takes time and a shit ton of money to get it perfect.
Why is nobody gluing 1/3 of a skinny shaft inside a fatter shaft, and THEN adding point weight and inserts.
I just don't think that Troy is that weird. Must say something about me.
Oops, he just mentuoned Jordan Peterson. Weirder than I thought.
I asked Amish around here about Covid. Amish said Covid? I explained Covid. Amish said oh we don’t have Covid, we don’t have TV’s.
Funny. That didn't help the Navajo.
Hey Troy, I do appreciate the time you put into informing us. But I'm having trouble grasping all this math lol. Can you point me in the right direction? I shoot a 2019 raven R20. I want a harder hitting arrow. I lost 4 does and almost lost a smaller buck at 72 yards. I need something that drives straight through and keeping a tight group? Thank you in advance.
👍
You put Trev on the front
Watched countless tutorials and this is by far the best I've seen. Great work!
@@brentmedvec8238 we truly appreciate it! Short blood trails my friend!
Another great episode, guys!
Thanks for tuning in!
Same guy cruising by would like to see him during rutting time.
Great show guys. I've followed the Ranch Fairy for many years. Now I'm following you. I'm shooting 655 at 25% FOC. 200 single bevel, 100 insert. 29" Grizzly Stick 240 Spine tapered arrow. It's unstoppable.
We truly appreciate you following and supporting us!
Ive found the best arrow shafts to achieve FOC and great arrow flight are RIP XV 250 shafts. The GPI is 8.1 which is insane and the shaft is rated at + -.001, lowest GPI I've found for a 250 spine. i also bought the test kit in Apollo, the RIP XV spun better than those shafts.
Thanks for tuning and and we appreciate your feedback
For high foc there is no better than the Victory RIP XV. With a 300 spine you can build a sub 500 grain arrow with 20 % foc. It all depends on your componets and dl. My elk and mule deer arrow is a Victory RIP XV 25 grain ss hit insert, podium collar, 200 grain grizzly stik or tuffhead broadhead, with lightes nock its 462 grain with 22% foc. Its is an absolute missle. It will destroy any bone or scap that gets in its way. Tuning can be finicky with the 22 percent foc but it can be worked thru. The sound it makes shooting at targets is wicked when it hits.
Its not about heavy weight arrows, its about front loading the shit out of it.
Que chulada de venado.yo creo que si vamos a comer cárnitas
