    Great review, just followed you. But let me tell you our perspective. Kantara encapsulates life of a small village and just as our day-to-day life it has sad, happy, funny & other moments. And the makers of the film shows everything. West denotes a category/genre to film, in India we have all genres in one film (usually commercial films called - masala film) with one genre being the main one. Think of it as making tea. How would you make tea? Probably boil water add tea leaves/tea bag and a dash of milk. We would boil ginger, add a mixture of cardamom, fennel, cinnamon etc. as well. Cheers. Keep bringing us your reviews.

    I love both movies. The second movie really moved me because it shows exactly our politics and how sociopaths and psychopaths are made out of nothing. Bahubali demonstrates what a person that shows compassion, respect, love but also rule of law and is someone that is made for the people. He is a person person. His brother on the other hand represents what our politicians are. They come in office just to grow rich, wealthy and have all the power. When you add the three factors, money, wealth and power, you create a monster and psychopath for life. You don’t care about your people, or about your culture. You just become a monster until your put down. Unlike the movie however, our politicians get away from that.

    I think the reviewer is mistaken about William Munny having killed women and children in his past. A theme throughout the movie is ‘myth’ and I think these are myths that have grown round him as opposed to truth. There’s a scene around a campfire where Munny apparently recalls one of his darkest deeds with shame and guilt and it’s in relation to shooting a young man in the head for almost no reason when drunk. If Munny had have actually killed women and children, I think that would have probably weighed more heavy on his mind.

    GoT is trash? Lmao. And all the themes you mentioned are present in the rings of power show. Lastly, have you ever even heard of a movie or show based on a book that 100% follows the source material? Amazon paid for the rights, they can do as they please. I’ve never read these stories - rings of power was good entertainment for me. I have read the Hobbit; it was decent, but overrated.

    • @filmreview4604
      @filmreview4604 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Themes can be present in both, but it's all in the execution. The Lord of the Rings films did a FAR better job while honoring Tolkiens world. I'm glad you like Rings of Power, but I do not. Amazon bought the rights to the appendices to the Return of the King and royally mishandled the material. Just because they bought the rights does not mean they can just do literally anything with the story that someone else created, that's a completely dishonest argument.

    • @billybobthortenn4157
      @billybobthortenn4157 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@filmreview4604 that’s actually exactly what it means. Look at Disney star wars - they bought the rights to fuck with that ip as much as they want. • @jackthomas6952

    Oh no no no no…..I don’t agree with you at all about English Bob. I feel that character was invaluable to a story that strips away western myth. I thought the writing of that character was absolutely brilliant in that of a man trying to make himself a heroic figure when in fact he is nothing but a back shooting coward. I thought it was brilliant to have sequences where Little Bill absolutely destroys him physically with a savage beating and then destroys his pride with the truth about him to Mr. Beauchamp who is Bob’s “ biographer”.

    • @GavDuggan1983
      @GavDuggan1983 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree, I think the film would feel like it was missing something essential if you took English Bob out of it, in terms of defining the character of Little BIll and characterising the theme of ‘myth’ in the West.

    This is without doubt my favourite western. I myself really liked the idea of English Bob because he optimises the myth of the romantic Wild West. It’s all a lie. Just as the true Wild West was an era of violent, merciless ethos of kill or be killed. Behind English Bobs seemingly heroic demeanour is a cowardly drunk who killed a wounded man in cold blood simply out of petty jealousy. When we’re first introduced to him, English Bob speaks in Received Pronunciation. Upholding his facade of an honourable, heroic, elegant gentleman. But as soon as he’s rattled, he reverts back to a thick cockney accent. This demonstrates the genius of Clint Eastwoods writing. Everything about English Bob is a lie. His demeanour, his heroism, his exploits, even his accent. All false.

    I discovered a clip of Part 1 on TH-cam, I showed my wife and we bought it and watched it on Prime. Afterwards, I immediately looked up part 2, and much to our fortune, it was premiering at our local theater the very next day. . We bought tickets and went, we sat in the middle center of the best view, aside from us, there were 6 Indian people in the back row. . My wife and I got into the film laughing and cheering throughout the film. When the film was over and we were leaving the theater, the group of people stopped us. I thought at first that we had insulted them, but they were happy. . They told us that they had never seen Americans act that way, that the way we engaged with the film was the way that Indian audiences reacted. . They asked us to give them an interview for their Bollywood/Tollywood TH-cam channel, we gladly obliged. . It was one of my best movie going experiences, hands down.
