    You sure those are not Ag tires. They don’t have the pattern I have seen on R1 but I could be wrong

    • @carlgalloway2024
      @carlgalloway2024 หลายเดือนก่อน

      R-1 are ag tires, but there are variations in the lug design. I think maybe you are thinking of the R-14 tires which have a similar lug shape but the lugs are spaced closer together, overlap at the center like R4 tires and have sipes cut into the lugs. They're supposed to have a better ride and be easier on soft ground than the R-1 but give more traction than the R-4. The last year or so I've noticed that many of the under 25HP tractors on the RK sales floor seem to have the R-14 on them. I'd guess that most of the small tractors get used on lawns so that probably makes sense as the default. I went with the R-1 tires because I was very concerned about traction in deep snow.

    how has it been so far? I noticed how you have it mounted up kind of high if I get one I was thinking about that because I have a hitch receiver on my bucket do you think it would work ok? can you tell me how much space you have between the bucket and the bracket? thanks.

    • @carlgalloway2024
      @carlgalloway2024 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's been great so far! Seems like every time I take it off I almost immediately wish I had it on. Pretty much I only take it off if I need to do some serious bucket work. It mounts that high to get the tips of the tines inside the bucket. I measured and it's exactly 3" from the top of the bucket to the grapple mounting bar. Fully open the grapple teeth are as far forward as the bucket edge so thy might interfere with what you're trying to do.

    • @anthonymorrison2167
      @anthonymorrison2167 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@carlgalloway2024 thanks I think it would probably work out ok that receiver measures about 21\2" square so there should be enough clearance for it to move alright you said it was sort of a pain to get on and off how do you do it? can you tilt and rest it on the ground and get some of the weight off of it and pull that pin?

    • @carlgalloway2024
      @carlgalloway2024 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@anthonymorrison2167 There are two things that make it difficult - the weight and how difficult it is to get the hinge pin out. The last time I did it I unpinned both ends of the hydraulic cylinder and set it aside. That lets the ends of the teeth rest on the bucket taking some of the weight. Then I pulled the hinge pin and dragged the grapple aside. Reverse to reinstall. Not too bad doing it that way. There are 3 holes on the grapple that the hinge pin slides through but they weren't in a straight line on mine. Some work with a pry bar improved it some. To remove I have to use a hammer and punch to drive the pin through the first hole, then I can pull it by hand the rest of the way. On install it takes some persuasion with a hammer to get it through the last hole.

    I purchased a Precision Add A Grapple the summer of 2023. I screwed up my bucket measurements and I thought I could use the smallest one they sell. When I got it my 2 inch tube side brackets were 3 inches short. I contacted the company and they special ordered a set of brackets each 10 inches longer. Worked PERFECT. Should have purchased the next bigger size Grapple with a bigger grapple teeth and a wider center section. My Shorter Brackets would have worked perfect as the bigger grapple as the center section is wider. I want to THANK Precision Add A Grapple OFFICE STAFF for the EXCELLENT SERVICE. They BUILD THEM to ORDER. Took about 6 weeks to get it and 2 weeks to get the longer parts. We have used it with a 3rd Function on a John Deere 950 and it GRIPS and lifts logs just fine. Excellent Addition to the Tractor.

    How have you been liking your RK25 I have some property in North Carolina and was thinking about getting this tractor. I have about 15 acres but only about one will be mowed and that is plateaued. I have not actually looked at any of them yet, so this may be too big. I do have a private driveway, going up the mountain that I will have to maintain. Thank you for the videos they have been informative.

      @carlgalloway2024 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm very happy with the tractor but I don't mow with it. With ROPS folded it's 7 feet tall so you need to think about whether you need to mow under anything. I mow about 1 1/2 acres with a zero turn. What you save by skipping the mower deck would go a long way to covering the price of a zero turn which will mow faster and not be in the way when you need to use your tractor as a tractor.

    This is the first one I've seen with the diverter valve out near the bucket end of the loader. I've thought it would be easier as far as hydraulic hoses go, to do it that way.

  • @bucket0rocks
    @bucket0rocks ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for these videos. I was able to install mine without downloading the instructions. That square piece of rubber with the circle in it… goes between the electric plug and diverter valve to provide a bit of water or dust resistance i believe. One criticism- a decent few seconds showing all the hose routing would have been nice. I had to hunt, pause, screenshot, look hard… and still made an educated guess. I am not a content creator, so take this gripe and file it appropriately… i would probably do the same thing at times. I do appreciate your effort to document the install tho. And it was very helpful for my install. Strong work sir! And good luck on the addAgrapple!

    My RK dealer wanted $250 to install plus expense of 2 70 mile round trip visits to the store. I thought about buying a generic kit but felt that the extra money was worth having the lines pre-sized and bent plus the mounting plates. I'm a little bit disappointed that the valve is on the loader. I was just about to tighten the lines when it occurred to me that the valve is in line after the loader valve. If I'm seeing it correctly the button won't work unless the curl function is activated but it will allows the curl function to regulate the grapple flow. Wondering how its working for you and if you would change it? Also, unscrew the set screw on the handle you can gently pull the wire and handle down to make a snug fit on the boot I drilled a little detent but not all the way thru. thanks.

    • @carlgalloway2024
      @carlgalloway2024 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct - the push button diverts the curl function to the 3rd function (grapple). I'm perfectly happy with that set up. My only beef with it is that the wire harness from the valve is too short. Hopefully I'll get around to splicing in an extension before I rip the wires off on some brush.

  • @Antique803
    @Antique803 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you have a mid mount mower, can you lock it up and use the 3pt hitch independently so you don't have to remove the mower deck? Do those work lights on the rop rotate to the back if necessary?

    • @carlgalloway2024
      @carlgalloway2024 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have the mid mount mower so I don't know how it functions. I have to say that I think a tractor like this is a poor choice for lawn mowing. It's not very maneuverable, you're going to give up a lot of ground clearance with the mower mounted and what you don't spend on a mid mount mower will go a long way toward a quality zero turn which is a better tool for mowing. I can see where if you had a lot to mow with no height problems or things to mow around a 3 point finish mower might be a good way to go. The wire enters the light from the back and is tight enough it would break off if you tried to rotate the light to the rear (assuming the mount will even allow that). It does appear that you could loosen the mount and rotate that so the light pointed rearward if you needed a rear work light.

    • @carlgalloway2024
      @carlgalloway2024 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was almost a year ago I ordered mine, so my time won't be remotely related to what today's waits are like. Also if you're ordering with an option (tires, back hoe etc.) that has a long lead time that can make your wait longer than someone else. My understanding is that back hoes might currently be scarce. In my case it was about 4 weeks.

    • @carlgalloway2024
      @carlgalloway2024 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting, TYM used to have the R1 tire on their web site but now don't. I keep hearing that R1 tires are hard to get so maybe they've dropped them for that reason. I will get you the tire sizes later today, it was pretty cold yesterday and I didn't have any reason to go to the barn. Keep in mind that RK may not use the same wheel as TYM, I know that the rear R1s on my tractor are wider than what TYM listed on their web site as an option. I suspect RK might do their own sourcing for wheels and tires.

    • @jshadrin1
      @jshadrin1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will contact rk Monday to see if I can get wheels and tires from them, but until then I would like to do some research if I have the tires sizes.

    • @carlgalloway2024
      @carlgalloway2024 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jshadrin1 Rear is 11.2-16 on a 10" rim. Front is 7-12 on 5" rim My understanding is that it's very critical to keep the ratio of the tire circumferences the same on a 4wd tractor. This is because the front turns slightly faster than the rear so the front tends to lift out of the ground rather than dig in. If you end up with the front circumference small the tires will tend to dig a hole. Of course the tire speed needs to be similar so you don't tear things up on pavement. If you use a different width rim the circumferences will change and your ratio might get messed up. As I mentioned in the video these are Goodyear Dyna Torque II tires. You can look up the circumference and calculate the ratio. Personally, unless you want to have your other set I'd be inclined to try and find tires that would work with the wheels I already had. Also, I can't speak highly enough about having them loaded. Good luck!

      @jshadrin1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for doing the videos. I am thinking of getting one with the R1 tires. It is replacing my old John Deere 850. My concerns are the pto hp and weight. My deere is 25 hp base with 22 pto hp and it weighs 2600lbs. I run a 5' brush hog no problem. The RK25 only has 18 pto hp and weighs 1600lbs. I hate all these details but it pays to know. What size brush hog have you run with the RK25?

    • @carlgalloway2024
      @carlgalloway2024 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not run a brush hog with the RK25. Assuming the TYM weights are correct in the book I figure the RK25 with loader and loaded R1 tires at about 3,000 lbs. Your 850 has a gear driven transmission so there won't be losses due to the hydrostatic drive. On the other hand since the PTO on the RK25 is gear driven I'd expect it to have most of the 25HP available if the transfer case were in neutral. How much brush hog you can run will depend on the material you're cutting and how fast you travel.

    • @PeaceIntheValley
      @PeaceIntheValley 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe the spec sheet had the RK25 at 1810 lbs dry. add another 600lbs for the FEL and 1000 lbs if you get the backhoe. The bucket will add another 250lbs. I weighed my tractor/trailer and van and found that it weighed quite a bit more than the 1810 I was expecting.
