The Dried-up Icacos Wetlands, Trinidad

In May 2024, the Icacos wetlands in Cedros, Trinidad, dried up completely to the point that you could walk across it. This is an interesting phenomenon that occurs once every few years, and it's due to very lengthy periods of hot and dry weather conditions. The wetlands have since been replenished by rains in early June 2024.

Let's Explore Granville Beach in Trinidad

Granville beach is one of several along the south western peninsula of Trinidad on the way to Cedros. There is a fairly large paved parking area as well as washroom facilities. Although the water isn't as clear as the north coast it's not too bad on a sunny day. There are some very picturesque views as you walk along the coastline especially in low tide.
