A Language Learning Tale
United Kingdom
Welcome. I'm Juliet, a British writer learning Italian (since Dec 2020), Welsh (since Dec 2021), refreshing my French from my youth (since Mar 2023) and Spanish (since Feb 2024). To learn I use Duolingo, TH-cam, books, music, TV and anything else I can find.
The current posting schedule is:
Wednesdays - Regular video (books, resources, tips, etc).
Thursdays - Story/poem in Italian.
I write in Italian not to create something perfect, but to improve my understanding of the language. There will be errors, you can be sure of it, but, hopefully, those will decrease as time goes on.

Capodanno: Poesia in italiano

happy new year! 🥳🌟 this is a great message, thank you :)
Vero .😊
It's impossible to believe that I'm the sole one who liked this video, keep your effort up 👌
So... what are you doing now, instead?
She said she just repeats the lesson normally if needed

My grandparents live in Wales and I think they can confirm this😂
There seems something wrong with the audio, it seems.
This video alone (and I’ve watched A LOT of videos) helped me make the most progress I have ever made to rolling my r’s! I still suck and I am a little light headed but I’m heading in the rrrright direction
Spanish is more easy !!
🙉👂
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! Are you Clarity on Duo? I'm Bohdan The Wise Owl and I've been following you for a while. My first language is Ukrainian, second is Russian, English is third and I'm playing with different languages on Duolingo. Currently with Romance languages: Spanish, Italian and French.
Isabelle
helps if you start by lying on your back and 'purring'
I cant pricely speak for example parth
The audiobook is outstanding. I've read practically all Ammaniti books and this one is by far my favorite.
When to roll R's (simplified) -- source: RAE (Real Academia de España) Use a rolled R (erre fuerte): when a word starts with a single R (rosa), when a word contains 2 consecutive Rs (Villarreal), when a single R is preceded by: PRE (prerogativa), PRO (prorata), B (abrogar, obrepción, subrayar), L (malrotar), N (enredo), S (israelíta); else, use a soft R (erre suave): cara, perla.
Castellano 🇪🇸👍
Your recording volume is very low, but thanks for the suggestions
I could not roll my r’s in high school. My Spanish teacher yelled at me so much, I had nightmares of him yelling at me.
Let's face it, the alveolar trill is not anatomically possible for everyone.
boost the volume of this video on a video editor
German native speaker. Did the German Spanish course up to 5th level.. All guidlines dropped. A minority language, only 100+ million speak it as the official or one one of the official languages errors without end, even the wrong articles, etc. 40+ years ago I did a two years intensive course in Spanish. Plus 6 years of Latin at high school. Then I switched to English Spanish. About twice as much lessons than in German Spanish and all the old guidelines, story telling etc. The US English is terrible, no the Duolingo US English is a disaster. Ich have been travelling US for 6 weeks and never encountered such poor language in reality. . Often I found myself understanding the Spanish better than the US duo. I will finish level /unit 4, and then stop the Spanish duo adventure. Will not care about streak or league in the future, have been in Diamond league for some weeks, its useless. Being reminded often that Navajo and Vietnamese are taught by Duoling is annoying, also commercials in foreign languages, firms of foreign countries.
I could write a pamphlet about all that is wrong with the 🦉. I would need a month in the mountainous region of Nepal to meditate away the rage..so I could surgically deconstruct what is surely one of the big corporate scams of this millennium. Shame on me for averaging 50+hrs@wk on their app these past four years. I commend everyone who makes an anti-Duolingo video. Brava!
Just a suggestion but could you increase the voice a bit please
No, when I lift my tongue, there is no rolling. Air just passes around my tongue.
And I try not to roll my R in order to get an English R. I did not know that people are struggling the same as me to get a Latin R. I feel much better now 🤣
After reviewing your videos, I noticed that they are missing rank tags and your title descriptions are not fully optimized for SEO. Currently, your SEO score is at 0%. It's important to note that video SEO is a major contributor to a video's success. To increase your chances of going viral, it's crucial to use high-ranking keywords and promote your video organically to your targeted audience.
Fix your audio, not loud enough
Even though you have 280 videos on your channel, your channel is not growing because your channel is not SEO optimized
Your channel doesn't get views and subscribers because of poor video sound and lack of video SEO Can We discuss how to improve it
The sound quality of your video is very bad, you need to improve your sound quality 😔😔
Your channel looks good and the videos are amazing. There are some problems with your TH-cam channel. That's why your channel is not growing. I see your videos are not optimized properly. If you have such problem, your channel will never get the expected likes, comments or views. I found that problem in your channel. Your video does not have enough likes, comments, or shares and is not reaching the target audience. Make your video titles SEO-friendly. Add niche-relevant keywords to your channel and videos Immediately need SEO for your TH-cam channel.
You also roll your R's in Spanish on a word with a double R such as Perro or Corrida.
This looks great, thank you for sharing!
Hi, Juliet. I'm Italian. I study British English. Your Italian is very good. My favourite course is Assimil English. There is also Assimil Italian. Do you know it? Sorry for my mistakes. Have a lovely day.
Jarring video
Seems AI generated ... uncanny valley
Super helpful, thank you! What sources do you use to find language learning resources? You always share such gems :)
Thank you for sharing so many excellent resources!
I can do it but only for a second I can’t hold it 😭
*promo sm* 😌
Voice problem, the sound is too low.
Hmm. Well I might just check this one out.😊
Exactly what I've been looking for!
Nes i fwynhau Duolingo Cymraeg. Roedd yn gyflwyniad da i’r iaith, ac wnes i ddysgu lawer. Fodd bynnag, do'n i ddim isio talu amdano, ac felly o'n i'n casáu'r 'Hearts'! Yn y diwedd, nes i ei fwynhau, ond o'n i'n hapus i orffen ac i fynd ymlaen i bethau eraill.
i have a problem because someone told me you can only be fluent in 3-5 languages and i speak 2 nativly and it just leavs me with 3 but i want to learn like 5-7 more so i am sad (the languages i want to learn are russian french italian ukrainian estonian and maybe norwegian and irish)
Someone told you that and you just believed it?
@@iamnotfromaustralia9150 sort of it seams beliveble but how many do u think someone can learn
i just study 1h a day but on weekends i just do duolingo or a notes revew
I liked this video. It's very concise and informative. However, I think the audio level is quite low. If you turned it up a bit, it'd be more enjoyable!
