Dragon Spirit Ju-Jitsu (WJJF)
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 10 ก.พ. 2019
We are a Ju-Jitsu school running classes based in Aylesbury, United Kingdom since 2004, welcoming all ages and abilities. We are part of the 'World Ju-Jitsu Federation (WJJF).
Ju-Jitsu is a traditional Japanese martial art, derived from the unarmed combat techniques used by the Samurai of medieval Japan.
While sharing similarities it is not to be confused with either Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) which is a relatively modern offshoot of Ju-Jitsu, or Judo which is also an offshoot of Ju-Jitsu.
We do not intend to upload videos to this channel. Our reason for creating this channel is to view and share Ju-Jitsu and martial arts related videos, as well as comment on videos under our group name.

WJJF 1986 Syllabus VHS - Advanced Ju-Jitsu
In 1986 the World Ju-Jitsu Federation (WJJF) recorded the then syllabus as instructional guides, releasing them to VHS tapes. This playlist splits those tapes into each belt for easier viewing.
Each video is demonstrated by the late Sōke Robert Clark (1946-2012), assisted by Alan Campbell acting as his Uke.
It should be noted that since the publication of these tapes in 1986, the WJJF syllabus changed more than once and thus these videos do not reflect the current WJJF syllabus.

Wow just come across this youtube video. I have all of the original black belt vhs videos. I also have the World Ju Jitsu Federation Program book by Master Prof Robert Clark. (well used) I was honored to receive my Ju Jitsu Black Belt in 1991 from Prof Clark. I remember his wonderful sense of humour. I carried on training and had my own club in East London for 3 years. Trained in Win Chun and trained and taught Krav Maga. (Real Israeli Krav Maga) Stopped training in 2015. Clive.
1:15 I like the blocking techniques here.
Jijjistuu art
Powerful! Really effective!
Beautiful!
Thanks for this grading at the end of the month so needed this 👍🏻
The IJJF does things slightly different from WJJF. There's no saying one is better than the other the results are the same. I don't understand why there is a separation I'm not a politician. Maybe one day they will be as one.
I had a chance to take a class a while and it makes me want take more down the road
Brilliant technique from 2 of the best 💯🔥🔥🔥👊🏻
I'd like to learn Japanese Ju Jutsu. How can I do?
Try looking for WJJF clubs - www.wjjf.co.uk/club-finder/
Hello please do tou tell me what the name of this jujitsu style? Sorry for my langage cause i'm french lol. Thanks.
Ju-Jitsu, JuJutsu, Japanese Jujitsu
It's the Syllabus ju jitsu style of Master Robert Clark
@@a-man3179Which School/Ryu of "Japanese Jiu Jutsu?"
This organization gets a lot of flack by traditionalists but really, how can you fault a guy for blending judo with some wrestling finishes and "classic" jujutsu ? Their blocking is very karate stiff but overall if you consider a lot of fights get into the standing grappling range pretty quick, their syllabus seems well suited and gives students usable skills right out of the gates. TBH, a lot of Japanese systems themselves have questionable roots so not sure why we obsess so much about that. BJJ is adapted judo, Okinawan systems were adapted kung fu etc. Function over history unless you want to be a kata museum.
That 'flack' is because the creators of this style try to pass it off as being from Japan, instead of the midh mash that it is.
looks like hapkido judo karate mix
its jujitsu 1
Very good
I got this on DVD at home looking for another copy.
Classic Juku ryu if I remember? I used to train when Richard Morris and Brian Cheek were part of this federation. Also remember when I was graded to green and Debbie Horwhite(name check) demonstration of a strike on me, I did a full 360 ....Very scary Sensei! Wonder were she is now?
This is part of the official syllabus of WJJF for 3th Dan; the rest is made up by bare hands Kata (like in karate: Sandan Kata) and using weapons: Bo, Jo, katana, nunchaku, tonfa, kama, Rope or chain, sai, naginata (kihon and Kata like in Okinawa Kobudo). The purpose of the drills shown (renkoku waza) is not self defense, but increasing the speed and dexterity of the practitioner, like said in the beginning of the video.
This will make master ken proud. Always strike the groin
awesome.
I’m going for my yellow belt tonight and it is no where near as savage as this…
Does it look anything similar to what is in these videos or have they watered it down 30 years later?
🔥🔥🔥👊BEST JIU-JITSU👊🔥🔥🔥
Rice bag reversal throw (tawara gaeshi) is such an awesome throw, especially as a counter to the double leg.
I’m loving this, it’s actually great to see him going that extra mile ie. Not just tai otoshi but follow up with breaking every bone in his body! Respect to sensei and the uke!
Muito bom
This video of WJJF syllabus is a nice instructional guides
Really appreciate these uploads , Best Regards from Stoke on trent
Jiu jitsu has ground Techniques and is older than judo
I wish I was trained by him
does anyone know where to find these possibly on dvd…supplementing my students American Kenpo
I doubt you'll find a copy of these specific videos on DVD because they were recorded in 1986 and were only on VHS. I think there was an updated set of videos released on DVDs in the mid 2000 but the only place I've seen them still for sale is on the WJJF Australia website, so you'd need to check which region the DVD's are usable in.
I hated the bar chokes, the gi didn't reflect on a real or competitive situation, plus I was shit at them, both offence and defence
Professor Clarke was and always will be a don, sensai dave Martin is an amazing practitioner also
What's a don?

Bob was open about his Japanese and Korean training and even his exposure to Kempo (although I never saw much Kempo influence in the clubs), but the language used here makes me suspect that there was a lot more Catch influence than he ever let on - the old Honbu Dojo was not afterall, a million miles from Wigan.
thank you! Couldn't get the syllabus without buying it so eternally grateful, now I can learn at home

Where can I learn this? I want a copy of this. Is this the whole system of then? Would you make a copies and I'll pay you?
Is this jikishin jujitsu?
No, but the Ju-jitsu taught within each organisation will be very similar to each other. The core mechanics of how any given technique works aren't going to change. The only differences between organisations will be in things such as how they choose to set out their syllabus or whether they use Japanese or English names for techniques. To use an analogy; A McDonalds hamburger and a Burger King hamburger are both fundamentally the same thing. They might be made in slightly different ways, but you'd recognise both as a burger.
@@DragonSpiritJuJitsu thank you for clearing it up🥋
So, do uou guys use the Japanese or English terms?@@DragonSpiritJuJitsu
The late professor Clark rip
Old but good - thanks
Simon there is no such thing as old techniques sir. I still rehearse technologies over 20 years ago. If anything it gets better be well.
Choreography is great they spent a lot of time practicing
Soke Alan Campbell is a fantastic instructor. Friendly, but deadly. His instruction was informative & interesting. Received my 1st Dan back in 2002 mostly thanks to him. 🥋
I started in 1997, fell out with local Sensei's in 2002, trained Judo and Wrestling, came back after a friend started a new club with WJJF Aus, got my Shodan in 2013.
Alan Campbell is an amazing martial artist
shoulder armlock is my favorite.
those are awesome moves.
What belt is the techniques from. Looks like 2nd or 3rd Dan tech.
Most techniques are up to 1st Dan (Shodan). Part of the grading was 30 defence moves, using these techniques, followed by being the attacker (30 times) i.e. the painful part 😂
I,m learning
I remember buying all of these videos and spending hours studying them and training the techniques in the WJJF Doko in Southport with Soke Alan Campbell and the instructor team. Great days of training hard and intensely- it was always an experience being on the receiving end of Alan Campbell‘s awesome technique. Steve Smith was always a great training partner too and also had the opportunity to train with Robert Clark a couple times. Good times - definitely needed to know how to breakfast properly 😂
As a beginner it does become really confusing looking into all the different branches of martial arts ....off the top of your head you think Karate,Jiu Jitsu, taekwondo and Judo.... but then you look into it and theres so so many types.... Shorinji, kempo etc etc.... kinda overwhelming when it comes to choosing a club
