That's fair! I think I varied up the cymbal velocities, but didn't do too much beyond that. Also a huge contrast to the original, where the drums are hardly even in time lol. But I actually love that "in the room" sound of Horse's recordings, and similar stuff from that era.

I have, years ago. I'm a bug enthusiast and I love 2D platformers, so I thought it would totally grab me, but for some reason it just didn't click. I got up through shortly after the boss fight with the three mantises. I'll have to try it again sometime.

Hi! It didn't cross my mind that this video would be someone's first exposure to my stuff, but it's randomly doing better than most. (Algorithm trying to win me back?) I guess I should keep that in mind in the future- that any video might be someone's first. If ya wanna check out my music (but no pressure), I'd say start with Multiplayer. It's pop-punk/metalcore with video game influenced synths and lyrics. It's the easiest to get into if you aren't already a nintendocore fan. (It's right here on this channel or anywhere else music is.) Some of my other stuff is quite a bit heavier/more niche. And thanks for your kind words. I've gotten lots of encouragement since this video and it's meant a lot. 💜

@@Uhole imo it's because they went from being a sort of 'meme' band to actually taking themselves quite seriously, and maybe some of their audience weren't ready for that? i also feel like their deep poetic stuff is at odds with their actual stage personas of being complete goof offs, but i would love to read, like, an interview with Nathan diving into his lyrical themes thanks so much for the reply, your channel/HORSE content is one of my favorite things on youtube atm :)
