ONTV Sign Off WKID 51 - 1981
Here is a clip of the nightly signoff of ONTV broadcasting on WKID 51 in Ft Lauderdale Florida.
The video begins as their "Video Jukebox" program ends. After signoff, they segue into 51 After Hours. Unfortunately, my tape was at its end when this clip ends.
Personally, I liked their signoff better than the tired tradition of the national anthem.

A commercial break during 51 After Hours on WKID 51 recorded in 1981. The ON TV service generally signed off around 2am and After Hours would show old movies all night. COMMERCIALS INCLUDE: Brown Institute Ft Lauderdale Franco's Pizza ON TV Subscription Television American Association of University Women Recorded on VHS in SLP mode on a multi-generation tape... Sorry for the poor quality.

Recorded late October 1981. The "Saturday" schedule at the end was Halloween (the reason all other programs were horror). From ON TV subscription television broadcasting on WKID channel 51 in Ft Lauderdale Florida. Recorded on VHS in SLP mode on a multi-generation tape... Great show that I saw in 1980-08-24. 1980 was a great year for concerts. I saw Springsteen’s River Tour four times (very long sets), Bob Seger, Judas Priest, Stevie Wonder/Gil Scott-Heron, Rush, Bob Marley, Fleetwood Mac and Van Halen. I’ve never seen this special so I’m very happy to watch this.

Interestingly this TV special and the video content truly captures the real live intensity and totality of the show like no other footage of Queen. The wide-angle lenses the closeness to the action is a good representation of what a live Queen show truly was. Enjoy, I was there.

@@petibruh and those days you weren’t allowed to bring Cameras in and unless you were right up front, it was usually too dark for Film to pick up

Freddie was very talented he was a great piano player he was one of the greatest singers to ever live and was a very great performer he will be missed R.I.P. Freddie Mercury
