The reason why it is called known universe is bcoz the distant light is unable to reach us as we are also moving away very fast. So big bang exists and the universe is much older than 13.8 billion years old. Per the Vedas it is some trillions of years old. So science can never find that out as you always look for physical evidence which can't be seen.

I suspect this star was likely ejected from a binary pair to it's current location. Its preset location, coincidently contains enough gas to accrete onto it's surface, producing the flaring that's being observed.
