DJI NEO Real World
Fun little drone at a great price , does lots of fun neat stuff but that's it. It's a toy. 17min battery life is in reality 12min max with wind and less than 10min if over water for safety as the thing will not land on water if you are moving. Go too fast or push too hard into the wind it just parks itself. yes you can come back to it and it picks you up again BUT if you don't know where it stopped it's all over it will sit there until its flat and land and because you don't have a remote connected you have no idea where it is. Best part is it's loud so you can hear when it stops following you. Just cant understand why DJI just don't make a waterproof beacon with basic controls for existing drones. The facial recognition thing on the Neo is just so bad it's like a Christmas toy.

Note that the weight of the battery and FD unit is not relevant in this mast placement discussion. They do add weight to the system, but that weight moves forward and aft in tandem with any mast adjustment; ie, you CANNOT adjust the FD unit relative to the balance point of foil lift (except about a half inch of slot length in the bolt holes.) Moving the mast in tracks DOES move board weight (only) forward or aft. Moving the mast forward puts more board weight behind the mast. Rob seems to believe here that by moving mast forward, he removed weight from the ‘ass end’ of the system, but he actually put more weight at the rear. True to his experience though, this does mean he requires less human weight in the rear, ie on the back foot, hence his feeling of better balance.
Aloha Rob. Great Video!! I am wonderig what armstrong foil are you using to pump in this video? I use armstrong foils and am trying to figure out the pump. Great choice of a song too! Mahalo!!
@@widmarkeloo6812 Cheers Mark 🍺 I’m on the Armie 980 HA in that video (1.48min mark ) , it actually pumped amazingly well for its size . Not sure on the rear wing or fuse though . I was riding so many different set ups .
@ I just got started riding the Armstrong HA 980. So I should be able to pump that foil too. Thanks a lot!!!
What alterations do I need to make when learning to FD taxi start after i move it forward….i have Forward Geometry Armstrong which have tracks that go way way forward?

What size boards are re they using ?
@@ttreevilla-rt6cr Everyone is all on very different board but Josh in blue shirt and black cap with the GoPro is on Amos 5-8 Kruzer but most board were 4-5 to 5-0

@@ttreevilla-rt6cr use for sure the better balanced the board is means less swing weight and easier to pump .

What kind of size wing do they use? :)

Rippin! Which front wing do you like more with Foil Drive between the Lift HAX 150 and Code 980s in same type of conditions? Thanks!
The roll to roll on the Lift 150HAX is much better , the Lift has more lift and carvey but the 980 has a bit more carry . Overall I’ll ride the lift now , just need to sort out rear wing . I’ll try next either way the Flow 21
@@Piros181 thanks for the info! I prefer my HAX 150 with the 26 carve and extender. I feel like it carves a little better than the flow tails. I like the Flow 21 best out of all 3 flow tail sizes. It’s still really stable even with it being small.
@@akelly1983 Thanks I’ll try that

Can we surf with it? 😊
This is video is really important! I'm struggling with mast position with FD on two boards. I will try what you said but have a question: how do you deal when motoring and don't lift to much the board? Because I think the idea of having the mast further back is because prevents the board to have the nose pointing the sky! Thanks
I’m jealous, I can’t do this on lake 😢 How long was ride ? And how you empty your battery on the end ? How big your front foil ? Thanks ❤

Hi Rob and Joe, great video and I am glad to hear that wing foiling is possible with a new knee. However ,I read that most people can't sit on their knees after having a their knees done. Hence, no wing foiling. How does that work for you guys?

It looked like you guys were not picking your way downwind but doing up and overs. Is that true?
Conditions far from perfect swell was too East, we had to cut left all the time to make the finish , if we ran downwind too much we would have finished well short of the 15km mark.

Hey Rob, great video love them all, I had both my knees done s few years apart. It is going to hurt like hell for about 6 months maybe less, DO NOT let the scar tissue win.
