This is the first completed journal of 2024! Made with the stuff on my desk and some thrifted supplies I bought at a creative reuse store in Nashville a couple of months ago.

You should be very proud of yourself, this journal is great. Lucky friend. I made my non journaling friend a journal and some questions I wrote and cut into strips. I put the questions in a cute box and told her to choose without looking and answer it on the journal. She loved it!

love this how did you get papers that look singular in it. like the lined paper as it wouldn’t be wide enough for two widths. some of the other pages also look singular
They're designed to be folded in half that way, with the lines so that they'll be positioned properly in the book. Look at the links in the description for the digitals I used and you can see some of them.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your journal. I don’t think it’s rudimentary at all. Your friend is going love it. Do you know where you found your daisy papers? I really would like to use them in a journal I’m making for a lady at church. I especially love the pink one but they are beautiful and would work perfectly with my idea.

It looks like you've also tied your signatures into your Journal, not just the Sari silk?
I sewed the signatures together...pamphlet stitch, I think...and then when I was making the spine, I laid down the Sari silk vertically, covered it with the black and white fabric and glued that down. Then I tied the end of the Sari silk to hold the signatures into the book. I hope that explains it ok!
I love your tea dyed paper, I actually like that it's not so deep coffee colored.. would like some info on how you accomplish that?
Thanks! I don't like it too dark myself, so I put the paper into a bath of tea, but only for a minute or so, and then laid them out in the sun. I do it when I'm making a big batch of iced tea for myself. So I think the trick is not leaving it in the tea for too long. Now that the weather is getting nicer, I am going to experiment some more.

Thank you so much!! The house drawing, I think, was in the book when I got it. I also think I didn't get it at ARC; I think it was from my misspent youth... but any of the 6 of us could have drawn in it. It shall remain a mystery page!
I really wanna start making journals. I think they're so beautiful. I bought all the supplies to make one for my stepdaughter and just haven't got around to it. Life's been happening way too much! I love that you had the courage to start a channel...... I would love to do that, as well. 🤷🏻♀️ Maybe someday. 😊
Go for it! Just start with the journal...even if you only have 15 minutes a day. You could even use those 15 minutes watching a technique video and learn something. Life is always going to happen. I just finished a book I began in January (video coming as soon as I edit it) by doing a little bit at a time. You can do this!
