@ With coaches! I managed to get it going but playing on ps5 is hard, I can’t create a free roam journey! My little boy just wants to see the Flying Scotsman but I can seem to get him working in the Doncaster - Peterborough and not any other place ! Thanks !

@JonBurrows1990 it should work just about anywhere, before doing anything in the loco check if the coaches are vacuum or air. If they're air then don't open either ejector or you'll be stuck. If they're vacuum open both small and large ejector before releasing the train brake

@ Ahh thanks for that it must be that! On the PS5 it won’t let me click my train on the map to make a journey, I’ve tried the Scotsman at a few places but I just don’t seem to be able to click on him to start a journey, I’ll persevere though just for my little boy!

@JonBurrows1990 does it show up red when you try? If it does that means another train has booked that bit of track. Look in the timetable and find it what time a train departs, spawn into that station on foot just before it's due out and as soon as it leaves the station try to spawn your train on the track it just left. That gives you the best chance before another train grabs it. The other way to do it is use free roam from the main menu, then there's no other trains in the game so you should be able to put it almost anywhere

@@trainsimulatordriveryeah, I switched out the wood wagons from the industry siding that you started with, then I proceeded down to the yard where you went and switched out the empty wood cars in that consist and proceeded down to the industry siding again. Tied those cars down and then headed back to McHuntley Yard and picked up some grain hoppers and then switched the other ones out in the wood consist from before then proceeded to make up a grain train to transfer out of the industrial zone and onto the mainline. I’ve also done switching on the newest Californian route, the MetroLink one. You should do a free roam on that line. Especially the section where those so many industry tracks between Pomona North and Rancho Cucamonga I think the section is. It would be great if there were more switching timetables on the San Bernardino line route, so much gameplay to be had to do local switch jobs. Would be cool if they could simulate the unlocking of the derail or catch points on industrial spurs and not to mention the gates of rail served businesses like they do in real life when they do local switch jobs. But for now, I don’t mind doing the free roam stuff and letting my imagination run wild.

@@trainsimulatordriver there’s also a lot of spurs after Rancho Cucamonga and up to Speedway too, on the San Bernardino line. Of which I’m about to explore now. 😊

@@neilstafford7245 yeah it's really interesting isn't it. That is the secret though, if you don't want it don't buy it. I'll get it free as an ambassador but to be honest I would probably buy it anyway just because it's fun. I've fired our Thomas IRL before it's boiler expired, it's just a bit of fun.

@@Samstrainsofficially why limited to Men? My real life railway is perfectly serious but we've got a bubble blowing Thomas (mainly because his boiler is out of ticket) so why can't TSW have Thomas? Hehe. It's almost as funny as the people who went nuts over the steam engines having female firemen 🤣

Why not have a ‘train for the kids’. I’m probably going to stay away from the kids playroom, but at least they have somewhere to go :-)

@psych-ryry anything that has a chance at that is welcome in my book, by all means go play and experience when you're old enough to make your own decisions if you want to but not as a kid, no good can come from easy highs as a kid

@@MrJimheeren it's not really bad it's just more like a model railway than a train in the way it works. It's been getting better over the years, the control scheme is more complex today than 10 years ago but it's still fairly rudimentary and all engines are the same

@MrJimheeren indeed. I've had Trainz for years, its first version was about the same time as Railworks (that became Train Simulator Classic) came out. It was a winner for me because it had Aussie content. These days it's still the only one with Aussie content!

@@Bcp123 depends on the route, Orbost is really nice. They don't have a lot of shadows in their graphics engine which personally I find better than pop in shadows we get in TSW. I wish I could turn them off.

Quite a lot of steam engines ran around the 100+ mile an hour mark. Today they tend to be limited due to age. Several like Flying Scotsman and the relatively new Tornado are authorised for 100mph running.

It is possible. I imagine more routes will depend on how well the first one sells. There is a strong Dutch community that are active and that helps.

I imagine it could be possible. The original Sodor wasn't all that big, after all the layout fit on a single base board. It grew throughout the series and now that its CGI it seems to be all of the UK :). Maybe the UK is Sodor. It would explain a few things ;).

It is interesting isn't it. It has been quite polarising. I guess some people feel that their simulator is threatened when used for not so serious aspects of our past time. I use the analogy of the heritage railway I work on as a fireman - we run Thomas on our railway and there are people on our railway who hate it because it isn't part of our heritage operations. It is fine to have the opinion, but the reality is that Thomas is a huge fund raiser and money from events like Thomas keep the heritage operations happening. Without them we'd close.

Getting younger people (or young at heart people who don't play today) then absolutely go for it.

@@badguy89o32 given its going to have a simpler control scheme (that I hope comes to everything) it's targeted at imo several audiences: TSW players with kids in the family, TSW who love Thomas (don't under estimate this market - people who want to relive their childhood), people with kids looking for a game for them, people who like Thomas stories and want a new game (this isn't the first, they've come out about every ten years since 1990). This is potentially a massive audience. When we run Thomas days there's plenty of mums and dads into trains using their kids and Thomas as an excuse to come to the railway.

Who appointed you spokesperson for the entire TSW audience?
