I love to share my garden in the hopes of inspiring others. My goal is to provide a healthy ecosystem that provides for insects, butterflies, birds and wildlife. Connecting with and being a part of the natural world is my main gardening focus, along with creating a pleasing aesthetic to feed my artistic side. The garden can appear a bit wild at times, but has an underlying structure that balances the chaos. The concrete pieces are my own creations. I find gardening to be a challenging pursuit on many levels, and I love to document the results with videos that hopefully are works of art in themselves (though I am a beginner at this). The garden is in Wisconsin, zone 5a.
Last Hurrah - The garden glows with beauty as the end of the season nears
The fall show is one of my favorite times of the year in the garden. Low sun illuminates boisterous hues. Squirrels busy themselves with their caching of nuts, and next year's queen bumble bees fatten up for the winter. Birds breeze by in their exuberance, feeding on seeds of native plantings. A southerly wind rustles grass and leaves, bringing in the last few days of warmth which is savored by all.

Falling Softly - The autumn garden gently fades, with a beauty all its own
As the temperatures slide and the light lowers in the sky, the first of the warm autumn colors peak out from the fading green. Asters take center stage, setting off the warm tones with their purples, blues and whites. Dried seed heads lend a dark and structured note.
Winged Wonders - Winged creatures are the life of the garden party
From tiny bees and wasps, to flamboyant butterflies, to birds of all sizes, the winged creatures enliven the garden like no other. The endlessly fascinating forms that our flying friends take brings enchantment and delight. Slow your eyes and take a closer look at the myriad of arial acrobats that inhabit a space where native plants meet their needs for survival. So special to be a part of thei...
Struggle and success - A few things I like and things I don't in this year's garden
Every year in the garden brings unique challenges and joys. Being a gardener takes the ability to roll with the punches and make the best of things. Success often comes in unexpected places. But in the end, the gardener knows that nature is really in charge.
Evening Luminance - Late summer evenings glow with life in the garden
The plants and wildlife become more lush and plentiful as the summer continues. While the slightest hints of fall beginning to manifest, there's still a lot of garden interest to come. Mums, asters and goldenrods are starting to show their final color explosion of the season. The evenings become more crisp, with long shadows as the light makes petals glow.
Savor Summer - Relishing the height of the summer season
This is the time of year to soak in the beauty and bounty. New garden art adds interest, and bird life is plentiful. Bumble bee numbers continue to build in tandem with the flowers. A big flock of pelicans overhead adds to the wonder that nature provides in the garden .
Calm Morning - Take a slow garden stroll and feel the light
Gardens are a calming space, and especially so in the soft light of early morning. Grab your cup and start the day invigorated by the sights and sounds of a garden full of life.
Cozy Corners - Highlighting inviting spaces and tucked-away places
A garden that draws you in to explore, and invites you to repose is delightful and satisfying. Secret corners and seating areas make a garden extra special.
Independence Tour - Declaring freedom from a boring lawn
On this July 4th, I declare my independence from a lifeless monoculture. Bring on the diversity! Well, there's still a little mowing to do...
Rain - The rainy weather keeps coming
It's been a wet start to the growing season. Plants are tall and lush. Mowing in between showers is a challenge. Spreading wood chips in the rain, oh yeah.
Fresh June - The garden has a fresh feel with new life of all kinds
Early summer sightings include queen bees along side tiny workers in increasing numbers, and birds feasting on Juneberries. Abundant rainfall has boosted lush growth on plants, and made things easier on gardeners as well.
Begin the Burst - The garden bursts back to life
Early June in the garden heralds the beginning of many bursts. Shades of green start to give way to bursts of color. Worker bumble bees grow in numbers foraging along side their queens. Insects of all sorts begin to appear. Broken egg shells give proof of baby birds. Every day brings new and exiting discoveries in the garden.
Waxwings! It's a treat when the Cedar Waxwings pay a visit

The Cedar Waxwings visit the yard for several days in late April.
Swing into Spring - Plants galore and queen bees; yay, it's spring!
A look back at the tender bulb haul, and getting outside in winter. A little crocus puts on a big show, and birds and bees animate the garden. Did I plant too many plants again? Love getting back into the swing of the garden!
Garden Bed Revamp - A record-warm winter makes for an early start to the gardening season
The opportunity to get out of the house and into the garden in February and March with no snow or frost is a rare treat. The garden is always evolving, perennials need dividing, and priorities changing. With trees and shrubs maturing and providing more screening, some high-maintenance fence can be eliminated. Removing areas of fencing opens up two gardens to each other.

Big Hi from Kerala, India. I just love to watch your garden videos. Your garden is exceptionally good and in every season it looks different, lush and full of life. Your artworks, installations too are very lovely. Keep up the efforts.❤
Thanks so much for those kind words from India! It means a lot to me to know my efforts are appreciated.
Not only is your garden exceptional but your photography is too! I have so enjoyed seeing your garden through the seasons. Many thanks for sharing from Northern Ontario Canada!
Thanks so much for the nice comment, and for continuing to watch my videos!
Lovely 🍂🍁🌾
That was a relaxing tour of your autumn garden, so many beautiful colors and textures. You can be very satisfied with all you have done to accomplish that. Thank you for the viewing.
Looks like it gets pretty big can i put it in a big pot ?
But the shrubs are much more magnificent than the window box!
Nice video, thanks.
Gorgeous gardens, I love your videos

Please tell me the name of that small tree with the dark foliage and pink flowers. Gorgeous 😍
I believe the one you are asking about is the ‘Wine and Roses’ Weigela.
Everything looks so healthy and beautiful! What’s your secret? I would love to have a garden like yours! Pure magic!
Thank you! I use organic fertilizer, but don’t fertilize very often. I spend time deadheading, deadleafing, and staking plants throughout the summer. I remove plants that aren’t happy, and research plants to find out what conditions they like. And I try not to video the plants that are struggling!
Thank you!
Binge watching! So will you leave the calla lilies in the pots? And just place where you want them. You have a great garden. I am really enjoying your videos.
Thanks for that! The calla lilies get planted in the garden-I get them started early in pots to get a head start on the season.
Always love seeing your beautiful garden. Thanks for sharing and adding the plant names, very helpful!
You are so welcome!
Very nice from a fellow Wisconsin resident and gardening fanatic. Vicki
Thank you!

Love your garden with all its beautiful colors and textures! The American White Pelicans flying were exciting to watch, too. Thank you for showing your garden world.
It’s my pleasure, thank you! I love the pelicans too, and all the bird life in the garden.
Beautiful garden!
Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback, and the nice comment. I will try to add more plant names to the videos. If there’s a specific plant you’d like the name of, let me know😊.
Beautiful and tranquil. thanks for posting. Edit: it'll be great appreciate it if you can specify some plant's names. I live in zone 5 too.
Your garden is beautiful !
Thank you!
Lovely. What a huge effort you make to create a beautiful home!
This is much much better than an ordinary and water-guzzler lawn. Beautiful borders with good plant combinations! Love those tall wispy ethereal flowers that sway with the wind! Love it. Then tulips and daffodils in the spring... "Diversity" is so exciting :) TY for sharing your beautiful and liberated garden! :)
What a beautiful July garden! Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful lawn! Do you directly sow thyme seeds in ground? How long do they grow like this?
Gorgeous! I had what I believe was a Hine's Emerald Dragonfly last year in my garden. I love adding more natives for my insect friends
So beautiful thank you for sharing 😊
