I am a direct descendent of the Rev. Samuel Swayze of Long Island and Mississippi. He was a loyalist and was feeling unwanted in Roxbury. He went to British-controlled Mississippi. It promptly was given to the Spanish after the Revolution and Rev. Swayze ran into some issues being a non-Catholic. He married second another of my ancestors. I believe that he and his second wife were the two bodies recently found inside the boundaries of Fort Rosalie in Natchez, MS. I wish that MS had done DNA testing on the two found skeletons. They did determine it was a man and a woman and their assumed ages were right in line with Rev. Swayze and his second wife.
