Race to National Parks
We’ve pushed public transport - and ourselves - to the limit to highlight the challenges in accessing wild places without a car. Our Race to National Parks film charts two teams of racers travelling from London to the New Forest and from Cardiff to Exmoor.
We set out to test how well the bus and rail networks could get us out into National Parks and highlight the barriers their shortfalls can present young people, amongst the most likely to rely on public transport. Though both teams made it to a National Park, it wasn't without its challenges along the way from high costs to limited options, showing how important better public transport is to give every young person the Right to Discover National Parks.

End Water Pollution in National Parks
มุมมอง 77หลายเดือนก่อน
National Parks are national water pollution hotspots. Every single lake, river and stream in England’s National Parks is polluted. Only 1 water body in Welsh National Parks meets the highest standards we all expect. The international importance of National Parks must be recognised by water companies and regulators. The water clean-up starts in National Parks. Learn more about the campaign: www....

Can you speak in layman's terms please. Because it comes across as though you're saying that the over 65's aren't to have a say in the running of our national parks, because their voices aren't diverse enough & that you'd like to be paid a bursary from a government scheme for saying so. I'm no body language expert, but you expressed dupers delight on some of the points in your presentation. You neglected to mention how you intend to achieve your Khmer rouge type goals in life. It all appears to be vaguely centred around this bursary. Please elaborate.

Respect, yes! Nor is it just a matter of visitors being respectful ('Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but photos'). It's also those with careers in Countryside Management who often put their stamp on National Parks which spoil the sense of wilderness. Signs, waymarks, paths, fencing, picnic benches, etc, all 'suburbanise' the wilderness, taking it one step closer to being a human-built environment.

This is really useful in my studies. I am an undergraduate studying landscape history and writing an essay entitled, 'why were there no national parks in Britain before the 1940s?'

The Broads has similar status to the national parks in England and Wales but has its own legislation and therefore does not come under the same legal restrictions as real national parks. The term "Broads national park" can only be used for marketing purposes.

We are proud to be working to protect and improve the Broads as part of the National Park family. As a charity we need help to fight for these places www.cnp.org.uk
