DIY Water Filter
You CAN go ahead and spend $340 for a premium brand water filter, OR you can make one yourself for about $40.
In this video (the first I’ve ever done with voiceover), I build a water filter in real time, and describe the process as we go.
Considering one of the big boys is being sued for false advertising, I cannot see much difference between DIY and their overpriced products. But that’s just me.
I thank you for watching! I appreciate your time.

The Amish
มุมมอง 97414 วันที่ผ่านมา
The Amish have a long tradition of remaining outside the modern system. Forgoing conveniences like electricity and vehicles, they are considered “odd” by many in the mainstream. Their devout religious practices and peculiar ways of living stand in stark contrast with the American majority. Being set apart from a profoundly ailing society may not be as bad as people think. The phenomenon known as the “mid life crisis” fascinates me. People sometimes have life-altering events that end in a temporary state of alternative behavior. Recognized by the American Standards Institution in 1936, A= 440Hz has become the recognized tuning standard for musical instrument calibration. Some say we shouldn’t be using that frequency because it may be harmful to mental and physical well-being. This video briefly examines the history of tuning standards, and why alternative tunings may be helpful. Thank you for watching! I appreciate you...

The exposure of millennials demanding “help” from older generations is addressed in this video. The high costs of everything imaginable now have younger generations wanting help from older generations, but the discussion has turned rather vulgar. This video looks at some of those issues. It's not solely about money, the boomer generation has reached the apogee of selfishness and narcissism. In their generation the notion of "we" as a family stopped to exist. For a boomer it's only about "me" and "my money" and "my life". They'll happily die alone in a nursing home surrounded by strangers but all payed by their "own" money. Happily we are living in togther times now and we raise our children to be a better generation then the boomers. A tight family will be the alpha and omega for future survival. th-cam.com/video/YaT8v0mR-Iw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8RSSqusqw1B8dxBC

The Amish are extremely open to German people, which I heared from fellow Germans visiting a Amish Horse Day. It's so sad that we Germans here in Europe were not able to uphold our faith and sense of community as the Amish Germans did. So God will uproot us and punish for not sticking to His ways. I enjoyed your monologue. God bless.
@@Гранит-ь4х Thank you, and thanks for watching.
Though I don't agree with Amish religious beliefs I totally admire them for their lifestyle.
Me too. Thanks for watching.
Well, their lifestyle is the exact reflexion of their beliefs. You cannot have the one without the other. All attempts of the Englishmen (the downshifter movement) to copy the Amish lifestyle without adapting their beliefsystem has practically failed. I believe their ra cial homogenity, they are all German, plays a strong role in that system, too.
@@Гранит-ь4х You can absolutely despise technology and live simply without being religious. People do it all the time. It is called off-grid living.
Amish have incidents of SA. It happens.
@@jjoo6229 of course. They are humans.
I think if we go into a 3rd war, civil war, terrorists attack take out the grid, an emp, etc. the Amish could save us all if we are willing to learn, listen, respect them, & work hard. I don’t think they will give us anything & I don’t expect them to. But if they are willing to teach us they could save so many. I think the southerners will be the other people that many will survive. Most generations were poor and/or frugal so many still grow & raise their own food plus know how to can their food that will last stored in a cool dry area for years. Most families are rural & don’t just run to town for a couple of items. We are used to having more than enough stocked up just because life is life. We also still value hard work. Lazy is a cuss word here. You never want anyone to be able to say you are lazy. That’s like saying you are worthless. It won’t be easy for most but to the Amish they will go on like it’s just another day. I’m not sure how they will react if the English become desperate & swarm them looking for help & handouts. I hope they are preparing just in case. They will look at us like we are being drama queens. I’m getting older & was looking forward to life slowing down a bit. My pappaw always had a garden & cows so I’m used to that. I’ve worked in the garden with my great grands, my grandma, & my great great grandma I had till I was 15. She only had an outhouse & when we were in the garden you didn’t go to the house to go #1. We used the outhouse. My husband & I bought my great grands house when we got married. My great great grandmas was right beside it but when she passed the kids paid to have it torn down because it was in such bad shape & my great grands owned the land. We lived there for 11 years before we just outgrew it. We also had 2 horses for a few years. I will say unless you have enough land to plant what they eat & know how to supplement their diet horses are a money pit! Everything is expensive even their feed! And you have to have a fairer or know how to shoe them. You better know how to sew them up too. I adored ours & they are so loving & intelligent but my 5 acres was ok but not enough where I didn’t have to buy hay & feed. They are also work. I’m hoping nothing happens but I know if it does it’s going to take hard back breaking work to survive. Those not willing to work won’t make it.
I agree with many things you’ve stated here. I think it will be a much needed reality check. Perhaps life has become too easy now. It never was so, save the last 65 years or so. Thank you for your detailed and interesting comments.
I really enjoyed ur video and listening to the way u talk... even tho i am a rather loud female with like 15 full color tattoos. I probably would have even more but didn't get 1st one til i was 47 😁 but i do and always have admired the Amish for their dedication and fortitude

When a man senses that the kids don't need him anymore and the wife is getting needy just for attention...for many the horizon looks mighty attractive. Perhaps a general societal(conditioned) lack of respect for elder males is a psy-op to drive a wedge of false authoritarianism into the natural family. A reset to adolescence is preferred by "authorities" rather than an educated effort against them. Welcome to modernity.
Yep. I concur. One of my coworkers got divorced (she left him unexpectedly). He carried on for about five years at the same pace & style. He “retired” two years ago, but still works for our company in the same capacity working 55 hour work weeks, but with one difference: he now motorcycles up to Alaska annually, hunts deer in the Sierras by horseback, got himself a 40 year old lady friend (30 years younger than him). As long as we have to buy empty unused land for some reason and pay property tax every year we will never own anything.
@@momsberettas9576 I agree with the second part of your comment. Perhaps it was meant as the troubling part of paying taxes on land? Days of old had people owning their land with Land Patent Titles. Now we get deeds, which show a title exists. Who owns it is another matter. Thank you for your comment.
I'm trying this myself, I have a very good job and can afford a 400k house... I wont. when I was younger the thing that started my career was trade school I learned electrical. it taught me that with some effort, guidance, and steadfastness you can do just about anything anyone else has done. only problem I run into is I live in Massachusetts, where you cant sneeze without getting a permit. So I will have to pay for quite a bit of it to be done professionally. however I save everyday and soon when I can, ill find a town that will let me do as much as I can on my own. The banks are crooks, never liked the idea of a mortgage when the houses were 200k and you ended up paying 400k at the end of the loan, never felt they offered me enough to give them that kind of money, and in my opinion people who feed off of others efforts have and always will destroy the society around them.

I make it clear that I will defend myself and get out quick, but I have never fallen for any bait to get me fighting. I have never been in a fight as a result. I have been sucker-punched and attacked in my days. My safety is number one. I was never ashamed to run for safety immediately as I could. I don't care. Not sticking around for ANYTHING else to happen. People can call my Mama whatever they want, call me a pnssy, fa88ot, qu33r, mf, wimp, coward - don't care. Words. I had a drug-addicted stepdad, in word only, who took me to drug deals, bars and other dark surroundings as that keychain token for him to have a little safety. I was 7 or 8 years old. He was a brick house and loved to fight. I saw so much in the 70s that most people can't believe when I retell my childhood. From day one, the garbage I witnessed instilled love and compassion beyond measure within my spirit. Emotionally scarred and effed up personally for most of my life because of the past? Oh yeah. It's a shame that his prickly personality insured that Scholz and Boston would release so few albums. Had he released enough albums to sign another contract, it could have been on his terms. If you watch most bands, that's how it always worked. Screwed on the first contract, make it big on the next contract when you have leverage.
He did alright with MCA (after a slew of lawsuits and a settlement that gave the original manager a cut of Third Stage sales). Scholz came up with nearly every part for nearly every song. That takes time. I think his unwillingness to accept songs from other band members and work his magic on them hurt their output dramatically. He’s a strange guy. John Kalodner spoke about his insistence to come pick him up at a shopping mall, and drop him back off at it, because Scholz didn’t want Kalodner to know where he lived. Yet, they were working together. Bizarre paranoia. Thank you for watching and your comment!

I just don’t understand why we continue to stand for this. Especially all America has done to get here, we all should be eating!! There is no reason why average every day people are STARVING, can’t pay their rent, can’t fix their car etc. this conversation just boils my blood.
The reason is corporate greed run amok. As to why it is tolerated- I don’t know. Perhaps a certain amount of laziness. And not everyone is cut out for self employment. Thank you for watching!
It was great listening to this. Here are my thoughts should you care to read it. I think we can say for a fact that employee loyalty is at an all time low. At the same time profits like you mentioned are way up. more money would increase loyalty but I guess loyalty is not needed to make a profit at all. Also paying employees does not tend to make them more productive if they would do it because it would be worth the money. I think overall the value of labor has just gotten down. The wages before I was born were way higher but it was mostly hard work which also required skill. Those jobs today still make a decent chunk of money. But most of all a person just produces a lot less than we used to as a species earlier. China is still dirt cheap with their labor which means the west can't go overboard with wagespiking. Also I feel like people, not companies but just your average joe, want to spend as little on a product or service as possible. So who are we to blame companies for doing the same. Walmart is cheap and a lot of people go there. People hire immigrants who have no insurance because they are cheaper. We know Amazon heavily abuses their blue collar workers but people order there very often. In general average people aren’t better than mega corporations, they are just less equipped. People should be able to just live and not have to work themselves to the bone. I agree we are just running on the last stages of capitalism. Eventually growth will stop and we cant grow forever.
You make a lot of valid points. The pay increases may not change things for everyone (productivity-wise), but I believe it would certainly improve morale. People are still people. When the factory jobs where exported in the 80’s and 90’s, many of those employees were earning $30-$40/ hr, and complaining how they may not make their mortgage without the factory. Additionally, employees get spoiled quite easily, and for some, enough is never enough. By and large, however, that rule has slanted towards the companies. I thank you for your comment. And thank you for watching!
Calm voice, strong knowledge punch.
