my theory on this story is the wolf was always a deer but it took time for it to realize that. it was born a wolf but once seeing the suffering it was inflicting upon innocent deer, it was reborn. once it had taken a taste of its own species, it realized what it had done and thus its true identity started breaking through, starting with its horns and then its fur shedding to reveal its deer skin underneath. in the pack, the deer would have been killed if it had revealed its true identity to its companions. thus it had to flee, fully embracing its true identity as a deer and finding a community that accepted him. once the wolves arrived to hunt down the deer, the main deer remembered what it had done and fought back, striking his previous wolf peer. the wolf recognized the deer as its former ally. and thats the end.

This reminds me of that one painting of some wolves eating a sheep, but.. “eyes don’t lie” (one of the wolves isn’t on the same side)

Personally, I thought "aww :( the wolf is shedding his old self to be a deer.", but then I thought about theme of sexuality in the original song and started to interpret it as homophobic individuals realizing they're queer and being shunned for it when they get outed to their group. The covered "wolf" later embraces its true form as a deer and ends up fighting against its ex-friends when they perform an act of violence against the group it once preyed on. I really love the art style here, too!

this is so cool! i love this, every part of this is so interesting to look at, from the composition to the colouring, it’s so well thought out and beautifully executed. i especially love the shapes of everything, it’s not too abstract as to be incomprehensible and distracting, but it’s strikingly unique and stimulating to look at. good job!
